Hi,
I have my AOS interview in February :-). I am adjusting from a K3 visa. I still have the envelope that they returned to me at my port of entry with all my k3 documents. Should I bring it with me to the interview?
thank you.

Hi. I haven't posted on here before, but I have been following everyone's progress. Just wanted to let you know that I also received my interview appointement letter today dated December 27 and that my interview is in February. Almost exactly 4 months after I filed my application. Things are moving along nicely (although I was starting to get nervous! ). So even though I didn't have any 'touches' after my BIO appointment in November, they were working on my file
Good luck everyone!

I don't think it will be a problem, I have three middle names! and on all my applications (K3), EAD, social security card, drivers license etc...only my first middle name was used :-)

Thank you for your answer. I am confused though.. I just talked to someone at USCIS and she said I would have to get a court order document saying I legally changed my name to my husbands name...? So I haven't been using his last name, however isn't being married to him enough to be able to use his last name? I don't know what to do.

Hi all. I'll be filing for AOS on monday. However, I'd like to know if I can apply for AOS using my married name. I came to the US on a K3 visa last year using my maiden name. However, I want to take my husbands last name. Can I file with my husbands last name or do I have to file with my maiden name. Thank you for helping me out with an answer.

Hi, thank you for reacting to my question. Good luck with your wife's medical exam and visa.
I just spoke with the NVC today. I am in the same place as you are right now. my wife has her medical exam on tuesday for I129f. Nvc told me it could still be months before my I130 was approved so I am going with the I129f for now. It will cost me more money in the long run but I want my wife here now -
I have a question,
I have my interview for the K3 visa at Caracas on March 25. Is it reasonable to think that my IR1 processing will be approved before that date? We just paid the AOS fee, and mailed the choice of agent form.
If I get the K3, and I go to the US. Will the IR1 still be processed after that? I so, and it gets approved, would I have to go to Caracas, or could the case be transferred to an office in the US?
Thank you.

Yay!! Both my applications were approved. Notices were sent today! See my post

Hi everyone,
Both my I-130 and I-129F were approved this week, they sent the approval notices today!
My NOA 1's are respectively June 16, 2008 for the I-130 and July 29, 2008 for the I-129F :-) So anyone who's NOA's 1 are around those same dates must surely be receiving good news soon.
Funny thing is that we (my husband) changed his address with USCIS over the weekend, and on Monday our files were touched. Then again on Tuesday! I feel as though when we changed the address they noticed that we were due for an answer and quickly decided on our petitions.
I am so happy, I've been crying and laughing out loud for the last 30 minutes!! I am going out to celebrate with my family and friends tonight!!!
I sincerely hope and wish that everyone who's still waiting gets their approvals asap!!

Serendipity now it's your turn and Bri-Aaron
Good Luck
Thanks Aruba ;-) It seems they are approving NOA1's from anywhere between May and August, mine and Serendipity's MUST be in there somewhere! I am staying positive.

This is great news! :-) At least now you know they're working on it.
Btw, how did you find out that it has been adjudicated? Did you call? Please share I'd like to know if mine has at least been assigned to someone, I can handle the waiting, but can't deal with not knowing whether someone is actually looking at my case.

I'm joining you in hoping for approvals this month. Especially for those who like me filed in June and July, let's cross our fingers and stay positive that we'll get good news soon! It's about time we do :-)

Oke, not that I am not happy for people who just received their approvals. I am. Cause after all we all want to be with our spouses.
But how come people who applied for their I-130's and K3's in August are getting approved by Vermont, and those who filed in May (or before) are still waiting for their NOA2's?? :-(
I know, be patient...etc...but, it does me feel even more nervous than I've been until now, since we filed ours in June '08 and haven't heard anything yet.

Over here in Aruba illegal immigration in itself is not considered a crime. Therefore, the police cannot arrest someone for being an illegal. However, they can be temporarily detained and must report on a certain day to the Immigration Department so they can be send back to their country of origin. Flawed system to say the least btw...
Anyway, the only way they can be detained for immediate deportation is if they get caught trying to enter the country illegally.
I don't know if this is the same in the USA. Maybe the police don’t have the authority to arrest an illegal immigrant; I believe that authority lies with the INS.

Hi. I'm from Aruba. We got married in May of this year and we filed for the K3 on June 19th. Now, I was looking at the USCIS processing times for Vermont, and it says they are processing applications (K1 and K3) from March this year!!! This doesn't make sense. A friend of mine from Aruba who filed for a K1 in May this year, got her visa last week. She got the NOA2 in September! How can they say they are processing K1's and K3's from March????
Some days I just want to scream. I don't want to spend my 1 year wedding anniversary in Aruba, I want to be in Orlando by then... To be home with my husband is all I want, because right now even though I am 'home', it doesn't feel like home anymore. Although I love my parents and siblings (I moved back home to save money), I want to start my married life already....
I know...patience...but weekends are especially bad...as I'm sure it is for all of us who've been waiting for what seems like ages, to reunite with our spouses...
Saludos,
Bri
