  1. Look at our pics here...see our dates..see a normal life...until the green card came...then he was gone. And it was right about that same time I found out he was cheating on me for an entire year...having a sexual affair with a pregnant 20 year old. Sickening. He even brought her into our home and had sex with her on my couch. She described my home to me. I was visiting my mother at the eastern shore only overnight when he pulled this stunt. Other than that I was a stay at home wife, visiting his cell phone store from time to time with no apparent issues. Well...hahaha..the joke was on me. Don't be stupid and think you are smart like I did. Really think hard. This guy came from a perfectly wonderful family... I met all of them and stayed in Jordan twice for over a month each time getting to know them and everything seemed perfect. He was performing an act even in front of his family. Because they did not realize his intentions of leaving eventually. Neither did I..this was a fairytale romance...I was his queen, etc. , etc...you know the whole routine...you know who you are. RETHINK YOUR DECISION!!!!

If I had this to do all over again I would realize that once he got here I don't ever remember being his "queen" again. I know that in some cases the love is real...and that is beautiful, wonderful, congratulations.

But think about it because all signs pointed to its real and it was not real. He told me he never wanted to come to america at all. I never put two and two together until after the fact...then why did he have a 4 year degree in English Literature????? HELLO...EARTH TO DEBBIE...and now EARTH TO WHOEVER IS READING THIS POST!!!!

BE CAREFUL. Love is a powerful thing and it can take you and you can be cheated and heartbroken. I saw similar posts on visajourney myself but only after I got married but I still thought my marriage was good...cause the green card coming was the thing that gave him the green light to it the road and thats just what he did. He would have been gone anyway after what I discovered about him. Deceiving...innocent acting cheater.

I know not all out there are like this...this note is not to put a damper on anyone's perfect union...but all I am saying is to rethink everything and be careful for yourself. It's your life...immigration is a long and painful process to go through with and for someone. In this case I even did all the paperwork and processed the whole thing myself without an attorney...I mean...I really got screwed. DON'T GET SCREWED!! Date...why marry? Live together.....for a long time first.

    Good luck

    Deb

  2.:dance: Esmat arrived here Wednesday, Nov. 5th at JFK. His wait at customs and immigration was not long....and was uneventful. It took him about one hour for him to come out after his flight arrived.:dance:

I am so happy now that our visa journey is over....and wanted to say thanks to everyone who helped me and for all of you here...you are all great friends.

We won't have to be bothered by immigration for almost 2 years....

After such a long wait...we are extremely happy and are enjoying our new life together.

To those of you still waiting...hang in there....it will be over one day...hopefully so soon for all of you...and you will be the one writing this message!!

I am in heaven and truly so happy!!

    Hugs,

    Deb

  3. I have a little more time to get ready...since my procrastinating husband just booked his ticket...he won't be here til Nov 5th..maybe I will make something similar for my room.

I have seen some similar things done in a magazine that Better Homes and Gardens puts out called "Do It Yourself".

Lisa - I am curious about the pleats....I have the idea down ok but don't understand how you got the pleats in there without any staples showing...whats your secret? haha

    You have some great ideas...thanks!

  4. He will be coming on October 30th. He will spend the next week helping his family pick olives from their farm. All of them have to work together 12 hour days for like 2 weeks to finish it all. They have a big olive farm.

I can't wait to leave the house to pick him up at the airport.....his flight will get in at 5pm Oct. 30th...I wonder what time I should leave..and I wonder how bad the traffic will be to get there. Its usually pretty bad getting to JFK...at certain times of the day.

I have to make some calls to try to figure it out...and get my butt in gear and get the house cleaned really nice so that when he sees his new home for the first time its as perfect as can be.

    I am sosooossososo happpppyyyyyyy!!

  5. I plan on having 2 long cushions along the long wall and a short one on both ends of that on the other two walls to make 3 walls that have cushions. I will make a bunch of long rectangular pillows that can be used to rest your arm on when sitting or can be used for that and your back, feet, head to lay down, whatever. Esmat's mom has hers set up this way and its nice...a lot of extra pillows to be nicely stacked up when not used.

Similar to this...but this one just has carpet....mine will have carpet, then cushions along the walls and then pillows like this one.

In Jordan a lot of times they hang curtains outside on the porch to cover the front door...like at the entrance to the porch...I always liked that and want to do something similar at our home.

Inside I want to make an arabic living room after Esmat gets here....I think that will be so nice to have...we have two so we can still have couches in the first one and make the second one more arabic....the one we sit in the most. I just need to find the big long cushions.....anyone know where to get them for a reasonable price? I am thinking I could probably find them in Philly in the city somewhere relatively cheap...then just need to find some nice fabric and cover them. And need to find a coffee table with short legs....or make one from a regular coffee table.

    Deb :star:

how are you planning on doing the arabic sitting area??

I like the idea of curtains on the outside too but i live in seattle  nothing ever can stay dry here

  7. Esmat picked up his passport today!!!!!!!

That was a lot quicker than I expected.......his interview was Wednesday, Oct 15 and he got his visa the following Monday, Oct 20. It only took 3 business days...the embassy is closed on Fri and Sat....

Now I am REALLY excited!!!! The smile cannot go from my face no matter what!! hahahaha....<giggles>:P

  8. Hi There...

I was wondering where you went!!

Don't be nervous....my husband said that the man was very nice to him and it wasn't bad at all. He had a bunch of ideas in his head from things he heard from people but none of it came true.....everything was fine.

Best of luck to you!! Let us know how it goes....and post your interview experience here for others if you can...there are several coming up with Amman interviews that I am sure would appreciate knowing about your experience.

    Best Wishes!!

    Deb :star:

    Am I late or what??!!!

    *Blows the whistle*

    *The band comes in*

    *The party starts*

    =)

Congrats deb.. my turn is in 4 days... I feel nervous =)

  9. Thanks for sending that link Garu...I have already seen it earlier this year.......and it is entertaining but not really helpful...and we shouldn't have to rely on some former employee to tell us what goes on there. We do have a right to know...its not like its top secret that they go through the FBI and other checks...it would just be nice to know who covers what types of checks, etc

Using the excuse that its top secret to keep us in the dark about it all is just giving them carte blanche to take however long they want and not have to give any logical answers...which is exactly what they want.

Accountability - they need to be accountable and serviant to the USC that are petitioning....we are THEIR customers.

  10. Happy Friday!!!!!!! Happy Weekend!!!

After the stress from the early part of the week for Esmat's interview to working til almost 11pm two nights this week....after getting to work at 8am I am so happy to see the weekend coming.

I will be hanging out with my granddaughter Lyn tomorrow...can't wait for that. We just found out the Disney Playhouse Live is coming to Philly....we are getting tickets for that for Nov 22...geezz...she's got me wrapped around her finger. I was more excited when I heard about this tour than the last time I found out Def Leppard was coming...hahahaha!!!!

Time to take a deep breath....its lunch time here....time to go down by the Riverfront and take in some fresh air....

    Have a great weekend everyone!!

  11. Wow...this is something that has needed to be done for a long time now. Thank you for volunteering to lead us and write the letter.

The most frustrating piece for me was being misled to think that the K3 would get my husband here faster....and in the end the I-130 was approved before the K3...now that is just ridiculous....the K3 is supposed to be a fast track...to reuniting families and the system is completely failing. Actually I think if they just stop the K3 process then the system would be relieved from so many petitions it may actually improve I-130 processing time!!!! Telling people they can file the K3 to get their spouse here faster makes them all file it....who wouldn't? And now they not only have the I-130 but also the K3....double the work. And in the end the I-130's are done first....how can that make one bit of sense? Why isn't anyone doing anything to fix it?????? It IS a very logical question.

Then we move onto the NVC...who did a noble job with processing our petition really fast but then when it came time to getting scheduled for our interview it took over 3 months!! That drove me insane. To finally be through the NVC...after my long frustrating wait at USCIS in Vermont....case complete...and can't do anything....still in the water...nothing....for over 3 months just sitting there waiting for an interview date......and this is not just with Amman....its with many other consulates as well.

Its strange, its mysterious and I am sick of being held outside of a giant steel door of the immigration process. There is no doubt it needs improvement and major improvement. Everyone in the US focuses on the immigration problem we have with people crossing over to the US from Mexico and bringing a boat from Cuba, etc...but I NEVER hear anyone in any political realm discussing how awful the actual immigration process is...how long it takes, how inconsistent it is, how unfair it is, mis-managed and absolutely inexcusable!!!!!

You got my vote, my signature...I'll even take a trip to Washington if I have to....I can see all of us protesting by the Reflection pool holding signs about these issues, maybe we can get it on the news...haha...ROADTRIP!!!!

I will start working on the draft letter and upload by Friday. If you, or other VJers have additions, just respond, and I'll get them. The point, I think, is to have a letter that several of us send to the members of Congress who sit on the "oversight" committee for USCIS. There is such a committee, and they should know that we followed the guidelines for submitting our petitions very strictly, respecting the work of the USCIS and putting faith in our government's systems. We believed that we would be treated fairly, and that our spouses and children could come here to the United States legally. Most important, we had faith that the process would be humane in terms of the time frame. So far, many of us have seen others get approvals/responses in general, faster than what they assert is their normal, just order--"first in-first out" and therein lies our deepest fears and roots of frustration. Sorry to be long-winded, but I get this way when I think of how long our separations have been. All the best--Amor1

I just got an answer from my congressman. Who is on this commitee? Lets do it!

I was thinking of incorporating a spreadsheet a couple of us are maintaining to show the inconsistencies.

It clearly shows CSC is speeding right along while the VSC is laaaaaging.

I am sorry to hear that. What type of proof are they asking for? What are you going to send?

    Deb

Well - we got a 221(g) for more paperwork - proof of relationship, etc etc. Typical for New Delhi but still stings. We were hoping we had that figured out....

I'm trying to get the info out to him this weekend so he can hand it in next week.

Thanks for all the well wishes and the great chats!

  13. Hi Lisa,

It really would be nice to know exactly what they do with the petition after it is received at USCIS and all of the steps that go into getting it approved. I was wondering what kind of stuff they verify..what kind of checks they do for petitioner and beneficiary....because I am sure all of these things go into how long it takes to get the petition approved. I am sure that some of the checks must be done with the other countries...and depending on their agencies and how fast they respond, etc....can all be factors in the wait time.

We do have a right to know...I wonder who would be the right person to ask. It would be interesting thing to uncover for anyone who has to go through this process in the future.

    Deb :star:

Well, I recently asked my congressman to do a more detailed inquiry other than the generic.. "not outside processing times"

    So, bottomline is this:

"The first time your case had "activity" was to assign your husband an "A#". The second activity was a "data change" <--think this was tying the I-130 to the I-129f after congressman inquired into the K3.

"Both of these are routine activities and as of today, your case has not been reveiwed or sent to an adjudicator"Bla bla processing date."

So guys... the touches some of us get early on and then nothing= assigning an A#.

    Good Luck to everyone.

We were glad to have some insight. But, wish it wasnt still sitting(probably still in backround checks)

    Lisa

  14. Hi Sandrilla,

Yes, I am in New Castle, Delaware....about 30 minutes south of Philadelphia....whereabouts do you live in the Philly area? Would love to catch up sometime...I venture into Philly every now and then...

Awww...Nawal.....don't be jealous....I wish you lived closer so you can join us...don't ever come here without making sure you let me know so I can hang out with you for a while too!! I am sure that would be lots of fun!

  15. Hey Sweet Peach,

No, he didn't get his physical visa today. He has his interview and was told he is approved. They took his passport and 5 JD for the Aramex fee and told him they will call him when his visa is ready to be picked up. They told him it would be ready within 2 weeks...hopefully it will be 2 days!!

    Deb :star:

    Congrats! ! !

So they actually gave him his visa today??

  16. Thanks everyone!!

Yeaaahhh....gosh the feeling of relief today is incredible....it feels so XXXXXXX great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now I still have 2 things to be semi-anxious about.....waiting for the actual visa to be in his hand....and waiting for his flight to get here....he hasn't scheduled it yet...we are playing it safe and waiting until he has his passport back to schedule anything. Flights are readily available within a day or two so I think we will be ok with him getting it scheduled quick once he gets his passport back.

Ash- You don't know how bad I can't wait to go hang out and chat with ya while the guys chat and do argeelah and just relax with a gigantic smile on my face and true happiness in my heart because I will finally be LIVING AGAIN!!!!

Hmmm...I smell my dreams coming true...they are sososossoso close now!!:dance:
