  1. Hi,

My fiance is arriving here on the 26th of September and I was wondering what questions do they usually ask at the port of entry?

I know they go through the packet that the embassy gives you and you usually have to give them the address that you are going too.

Do you also have to show them pictures?

    Any input would be appreciated.

    Thanks.

  2. Hi,

I had a quick question my fiance received her NOA2 on June 2nd and it was valid until October 1st. My fiance had her interview on August 26th and she was put on Administrative processing. The AP should be finished any day now. I was wondering since our NOA2 expires on October 1st if this would be a problem in the sense that it would take longer to re-do another background check or if they automatically extend this until the AP is finished and visa is ready for pickup?

Even if the visa gets ready in the next few days my fiance won't be able to go and pick up the visa until October.

    Thanks for any input.

  3. I'm looking for anyone out there where there Visa was not denied by an embassy but instead put on administrative review. Not with the NVC but with the embassy itself. My Fiance interviewed on August 27th and they gave her a paper that said Administrative Review. They would be in touch. Anyone else out there in the same boat?

This happened to my fiance. She interviewed on August 26th and she was given a blue slip that said she was on Administrative Processing. The embassy told her it will take 7-10 days, but so far its been 9 days and it is still in AP.

  4. good luck!

    Hi,

My fiance had her interview in Abu Dhabi on August 26. She told me that there were 40 people there that day for various immigration related petitions who got approved which is pretty good. The thing was though everybody except for one person were put on AP.

Some people were put on AP for 7-10 days, which included my fiance and a few other families, but the majority were put on AP for around 2 months. So expect your father to be put on AP. Also, note that these dates can take longer.

  5. Hi,

I was just wondering if for my fiance's interview a second revised letter of intent is necessary besides the one that we originally sent with the I-129F package.

The reason I ask is that the original letter of intent didn't have our date of marriage in it and I was wondering if we needed another letter of intent since during the interview they will ask my fiance what date we intend to get married when she comes here.

I have heard it may not be necessary and it was not in the packet they sent us in the documents we have to bring.

  6. Hi NN1980

I am an Iranian also and I applied for my dad through Abu dhabi . Which embassy do you go to?

and do you know whether the visa will be issued the same day or next day?

    Thanks and good luck

    Hi,

I don't think they would issue it the same or next day.

They also do a background check which can take anywhere from 1 to 6 months.

Even if there were no background check it would take a few days till a week for them to process the visa and have it ready.

  7. Hi,

I know there aren't that many people in this forum that have filed at Abu Dhabi embassy, but I was wondering how long I should wait for my packet 3 before contacting them. It's been almost 3 weeks since the NVC has sent it to the embassy and I still haven't received it. Should I wait longer or contact them immediately? Also, the package is supposed to arrive here in the US so that may delay it a few day.

  8. Hi... Several of us are in the same boat as you are. See this post:

    http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=136677

My question is that if NVC has processed our cases (fingers crossed) then the NVC should have a record of my case. So far, all I heard from the NVC was "We have no record of your case. Either you have entered a wrong case number or we have not received your case yet."

So my conculsion is that the NVC has not received my case. I hope I am wrong ( :bonk::whistle:), of course.

I think this is the problem with the automated system it doesn't track K-1 visas. Try talking to an operator to see if the NVC has received your case.

  9. I am going to start this process for my wife and I put Ankara as the consulate (two years ago when I applied for her based on my GC and now I am citizen - In I-130)

The file has been submitted. Is there anyway I can change the consular for processing. Apparently Ankara does a bad job on Iranian's applications and they are always behind the schedule + they are rude.

Do you guys have any suggestions for my situation?

I think if you call the NVC you can have them change where your documents get sent. If they have already been sent to Ankara on the other hand you are out of luck.

  10. Hello fellow VJers.

    How are you doing today?

My fiancee has tried to call NVC to check whether they received our K1 case from CSC or not.

The number he called was 603 334 0700. (I got this number from previous posts on VJ.)

When he called, he was told that they would transfer him to an operator.

Then, the automated system told him that all the operators are busy and he was put back on the

    automated system.....

We want to talk to an operator...

Could someone tell us what we are supposed to do if we are put back on the automated system?

Should we press something or just keep waiting without doing anything?

    Thank you for your advice.

    Have a nice day

    Nao

I think that happens when the holding queue for calls are full. You have to call at a time of the day that is less busy for example I called late afternoon yesterday and I was able to get an operator after a 20 minute hold. You may want to call either early in the morning or in the afternoon. It is usually busier at nights.

  11. Sometimes USCIS just loses part of your paperwork and sends a RFE (G-325A) and everything is delayed for two weeks :crying:

    Hello everone :star:

We finally sent out our response to RFE on May 2nd.

We sent it out by FedEx (we were told by an officer that it gets to an adjudicator a little quicker if we send it in by private courier, which is very understandable.). It was delivered in the morning on May 3rd and was signed by N.LA BARRIE. :star:

So, now it is at CSC and we have to wait for our response to get delivered to our adjudicator.

I have several questions here. I really appreciate it if you can provide us some advices.

How long did it take for you to receive an e-mail notice that they received your response?

(it seems that it takes about a week by looking at many people's timeline.)

How long did it take for you to receive your NOA2?

Thank you very much for your time and consideration

(I am going on a trip with my friends in the next three days, so I will check your reply and definately will reply back when I come back home from it.)

    Thanks a lot

    Have a great weekend :star:

    Nao

It took me almost 3 weeks to get an email notice that I got an NOA2. I sent in my RFE on May 13 and got the email on June 2nd.

  12. Hello everyone.

Surprisingly, my fiancee received an RFE letter in mail today. Wow, it only took two days for the letter to be delivered. (Well, considering that my fiancee lives 40 mins away from CSC, it is usual that the letter gets delivered in two days...lol)

Anyway, the only things they want from us are two passport style photos of us....

The thing is that we included those with our original petition....

We are not sure whether they lost them or our photos did not meet their specification...They not explain why...

They tell us to follow the specification on the next page and there is no next page attached to the letter...

    Mmmm.

Is there anything we should pay extra attention to when taking passport style photo?

    Thanks :star:

    Nao

    Hi,

I think sometimes they ask for more evidence even though we sent in the evidence originally. For example, my RFE they wanted more proof of relationship even though I sent them some pictures, emails, and chat logs to them. So as a response to the RFE I sent them more pictures and emails. I thought it was kinda odd. I think if you follow the instructions and send in some new passport photos again you should be fine. Standard passport photos that you get at Walgreens and any other place should be fine.

  13. So, when they send out RFE letter, does the case status online change from "case received and pending?"

The case status online changes to:

"Current Status: We mailed you a notice requesting additional evidence."

"On (date), we mailed a notice requesting additional evidence and/or information in this case. Please follow the instructions on the notice to submit the evidence and/or information requested. This case will be held in suspense until we either receive the evidence or the opportunity to submit it expires. Once you submit the information and/or evidence requested, you will be notified by mail when a decision is made, or if the office needs something further from you. If you move while this case is pending, call customer service."

NN1980, besides the additional evidence, we also RE-SENT all the other evidence, like the same photos (there were only 6 photos of us together in existence at that time), passport pages, etc. I also wrote a cover letter certifying that we had met on such and such dates and describing every bit of evidence proving it, all attached paperwork. I suggest you write an explanation letter how you stayed with your fiance so don't have hotel receipts, etc.

Nao if your case status did not change online, here's hoping it was indeed a mixup and you will get approved soon!

    Hi ELW.

Yea... we hope that it was a mixup...

Our case was updated twice this week. (We were told that we have RFE request and should receive a letter in a week last Thursday. It will be a week since then....) However, we do not see our case status change.....We are gonna call tomorrow and see what is going on.... It will be 7 months since we sumbited our original packet and we have not heard anything since then.....

My case status online did not change as well when I got the RFE email. I'm assuming they don't change that, but just send out the RFE email. You should be getting the letter soon, if they touched your case then that means they may have just sent it out. For example, they touched my case a day after I received the email even though they said that they sent it out on May 3rd they touched it on May 6th which I'm assuming they sent it out then and then it arrived on May 13th.

  14. Hey guys,

Thanks for the advice, but I had already sent in my itinerary, all my passport pages, and even my boarding passes in my original I-129F package. I did not stay in a hotel when I was in my fiance's home country and for obvious reasons I could not use my credit card there so those items were ruled out. The only thing I could think of that they wanted more evidence for was more pictures that were taken in front of signs and landmarks in the country to show I was there, phone cards, and chat logs, but we'll see how this goes. I'm assuming that they are pretty sometimes picky when your fiance is from a particular country because of high fraud rates from that country and single out a person for an RFE, but I think these items should be good enough since I sent the original evidence in my I-129F.

  15. Hi Guys,

I finally received my RFE letter today in the email after 8 days.

They want more proof of the relationship. I am surprised because I sent them pictures, chat logs, email, and phone cards to them.

Do you think they want more pictures, email and chat logs? I will go ahead and send some more pictures, email, and phone cards to see if that should do it.
