  1. Hi everyone,

I just thought I would throw it out there that I finally recieved my "Card production ordered" email on Saturday. After 13 months this ordeal is finally over.. thank goodness! My case was transferred (to an unknown location) earlier this month like many other people experienced.

Hopefully you will all be getting your approval notices shortly!

    Sincerely,

    Isla

  2. NOA1 was December 28th, biometrics in early Jan, not a peep since.

    Marilyn and Peter.

It seems so unfair. Some recent NSC filers are being transferred to CSC and getting their paperwork processed within a couple of months. At least they should transfter the older cases (ours is not that old). Just venting at USCIS's policies.

*Sigh* I agree. It is so disheartening and I can only imagine the frustration of those who are still waiting from late last year. I filed late March and I'm getting annoyed!!! I mean, I'm happy for people and their approvals but I don't understand why new NSC filers are getting transfered before those who filed long before them.

  3. Gary,

You don't know me - I tend to be more of a lurker than a replier (I've been here since 2004..) but I have followed your story and seen your website. I just want to stop by and tell you that I'm so happy for you. You seem so dedicated to your Luz and my heart is leaping for you. I saw the delay with the flight and I know your heart sinks just a little ;) but 3 hours is nothing compared to having her forever in your arms. You are going to look back on this day as one of the greatest moments of your new life together. Treasure it and remember the excitement and anticipation when things tend to get "normal". I know they're so excited to see you and I'm sure the fact she hasn't called is just trying to figure how things work out. I came from Australia to the US and I couldn't figure out how to make a phone call with all the area codes and such.. I'm sure it's nothing to get concerned about. She is going to love the flowers and I think you are going to be a fantastic step-dad to Robin. You treat them both so wonderfully. My heart is filled with joy for you and I want you to know that I am so excited for you.

    Take care,

    Monarch.

  4. Where did you apply? [Edit] Nevermind, I looked at your timeline *sheepish*

I wouldn't be too concerned. You have proof that the recieved the file, you've got your EAD and all that stuff. When I was filing, it took me a good 7 months. If you are genuinely concerned, why not make an Infopass appointment and just see? If you've got a case number then you know its got to be somewhere :)

  5. I just wanted to let you all know that Nebraska seems to have picked up! I overnighted my I-751 package on 3/19 which was obviously recieved on 3/20. My checks were cashed on 3/26 and NOA was Mailed on 3/23 with an NOA date of 3/20! I'm super excited because my GC expires on 3/31 and I have a trip overseas booked and paid for on May 3rd.

Just thought I'd share the news with you all and hope to see others get similar results!

  6. Anyone heard the news that in June they are raising the fees, and it will cost over 500 to file the I-751, not sure if this is just a rumor, but is what I heard, anyone here about this?

I agree, it's cray. I'm greateful that I just filed my I-751 and don't have to deal with the increase of fees until I go the N400 route. Not sure if I will though, it sure is alot of money. Unfortunately increases in immigration fees are an easy bill to pass since you wont hear most citizens complaining about it!

  7. If you applied for your I-751 in mid-March, you should definitely have your NOA before early May. I would think you should be receiving it in April sometime.

If you don't have the NOA which extends your conditional PR status, I doubt you will be allowed to re-enter the U.S. upon your return.

You may want to make an InfoPass appointment if you haven't received the NOA by the middle of April.

Do you mind me asking where you got this information about Local Offices no longer giving the stamp? I'm reading prior posts and I am not seeing anything supporting this.

I guess I'll keep ya'll updated. I have an InfoPass appointment for the 30th of March and I guess if they don't give it to me that date, I'll make another in late April and beg! :P

  8. They do not give stamps in passports anymore at most local offices. The letter you received is all you need to travel and work.

How would one prove its status (and are yet to recieve the extension letter?) when travelling and working after the GC expiration date?

You won't necessarily have to prove your status if you are currently working. I am working and my conditional GC expired last December, but my employer has not asked to see my NOA letter. They know that I have applied for my 10-year GC.

If you want to travel outside the U.S. and don't have the NOA to show the POE officer when you return to the U.S., then you will definitely have a problem. The letter is required to re-enter the U.S. once your conditional GC has expired.

It took one month for my NOA to arrive after I sent in my I-751 application.

I guess my concern is that being that I am a resident (whether that be conditional or not I don't think matters as I have filed my paperwork prior to the expiration date on my card and are entitled to an extension) I don't understand how the government can limit my travel. I do plan on travelling and have infact paid over $4,000 for an overseas trip in early May and the chances of me having my NOA are slim.
