  1. Well, our interview was on April 8, we received a blue (need more information). In China, they require a marriage eligibility certificate that DOS has decided is only good for a year. Since you have to provide it with your I-129F (she had to physically send it before I could file the I-129F) which was filed April 8, 2008, that meant it was 3 weeks out of date :angry: But, we got that and another piece of information mailed to the consulate two days after the interview, and my finacee just picked up her passport with visa today! We are busy working on flight and personal belonging shipment now :dance:

  2. OK, time to add my good news. I filed my I-129F on April 11 at CSC, it was approved August 11, and as of August 20, the NVC sent a letter stating the petition will be forwarded within a week. Woo hoo!

    :dance::dance: :dance: :dance:

    That's great!! Congrats!

    You didn't state if you recieved your NOA1 before you recieved the letter from the NVC. Did you? And if so, did you recieve an e-mail or any updates on the website about your case? All us impatient April filers want to know!!! :D

    Sorry, received email about Approval on August 11, actually received the NOA2 in the mail August 18, and received NVC letter August 22.

  3. On July 31, I went to the USCIS website to create an account and sign up for email notifications on my case, which was officially accepted April 11. Imagine my surprise and joy to receive this email about 10 minutes ago:

    Application Type: I129F , PETITION FOR FIANCE(E)

    Current Status: Approval notice sent.

    On August 11, 2008, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I129F PETITION FOR FIANCE(E). Please follow any instructions on the notice. If you move before you receive the notice, call customer service.

    Thanks to everyone on this site for great information. Not being overly rich, I filled out all the paperwork myself and submitted it. If you follow guidelines, it works! It probably didn't hurt that my finacee is from China and we got a picture in front of the then incomplete "bird's nest" in Beijing during January as part of our proof of meeting recently :)

    I will update my timeline as soon as I get the piece of paper in the mail. Hopefully it will be in a couple of days.

    :dance:
