My husband wants to bring his sister and her two children, who are both over 21, to live in the US.
I have been reviewing the guides but I can't find any information on niece and nephew over 21.
Any suggestions on where I can look for this info, or anyone know how to go about it?
Thanks

Ours took more than 30 days to get. We called on the 30th day, and had our letter about a month after. Our biometrics appointment was about 10 weeks from our NOA date. Our ASC runs way behind, or at least they were. We were dead last in our group to have biometrics, but it didn't hold up our approval.
They were kind enough to send us an email after the phone call to let us know that our ASC was slow. Good luck!
Thanks so much for the reply! Always feels better to know others survived the same situation

Hi all,
We mailed our I-751 on June 18th. We received our NOA with a reciept date of June 21st. We filed with California Service Center. We have not recieved our Biometrics letter after more than 30 days so I called National Customer Service yesterday and they filed a service request for Biometrics.
The rep I spoke with was very nice and extremely helpful. He said if I dont get the letter within 30 days to call back again.
The receipt number on our NOA1 apparently is no good because they track our application with the receipt number on the Biometric letter. Frustrating because we cant even go online to check status.
Has anyone else had to do this? Any idea if it will take the 30 days to get the letter?
Thanks for any feedback!

Thanks for all your answers....
I found the information I was looking for. You guys are great!!
Good luck to everyone on this journey

the dates for us are not correct....

That means you're in AP. You call DOS from now on.
I will ask your firgiveness if this seems rude, and thank you for taking the time to respond, but I have to disagree with your answer....
My husband comes here to read these posts from time to time, and your answer will scare him to death...so I will say this:
I have found several people that have actually been through this process that received the same responses and had their visas in a short time after. I even saw where someone got this answer and had the visa the same week.
Is there anyone else that has actually had their interview, and emailed back and forth with Cairo that can share their experience with me?
Thanks again Olivia, I do appreciate your time

Ok, so I just got one of those "canned" answers...
"The case is pending the officer's final review. We will process the case to conclusion once that is completed".
What the he!! does that mean

We use magicjack. This is how it works...
You would buy it online for $25.00. You pay $20.00 for 1 year of service. They send it to you and you go online to set it up.
It is a little box that plugs into your USB port on your computer (like the webcam). The little box has a phone jack on the end of it, and you plug your phone into that.
It is assigned with a phone number from the USA. You would pick one in the area of your loved ones, so that it is a local number for them.
Whoever has the jack, can call any US number(land line and cell). The $20.00 a year buys you unlimited calling. If the Magicjack is in another country, you just dial the US number like you would here.
Also, if you have the jack plugged into your computer and you have the internet on, anyone in the US can call the number for the magicjack like they are calling any Us number. It would be a local number for your family to call you if you set it up with a number from their area.
I use it with my husband, he has it there in Egypt. We had trouble getting it delivered in the mail, customs decided they needed a little pay off not to cause any trouble, but it works very well and I would recommend it to anyone. Very good quality.
When my husband comes home, he will leave it in Egypt so his family can call us for free and we can call them for free too.
Check out the website Magicjack.com they even have a live chat help site if you have technical difficulties.

Thanks guys, I will try again.
I did include the case number in the body of my email, so I will move it t the subject line and see what I get.
Aymsgirl: Can you tell me who you called and where to find the number? I would love to be able to actually talk to a person.
My husband called the embassy, but they basically told him no one will answer his questions and don't bother calling back
Thanks again for your answers

I sent an email to Cairo 5 days ago, and still no answer.
I am wondering if you can share your experience with me...
Does anyone know what days they are open, and what their hours are?
What did you put in your subject lines when you sent emails to check status?
How did you word your questions?
I am trying to get an idea of what works and what doesn't when trying to get an answer from Cairo, and I want to know what days they are closed so I am not checking my eamil 400 times on those days
Thanks guys...

Lawyers are not a waste of money if they are good at what they do. Look at my timeline...
Now, if you do let your lawyer go, the G-28 told USCIS that he is the person they need to contact. They will send your original NOA2 for both applications to him, and you will only get a copy.
I don't know if you can notify USCIS that you no longer have the attorney or not, but every time you do something like that, you run the risk of causing confusion and delaying your case.
Good luck

I would give anything to be in your shoes right now....

I think the K3 gets cancelled when they interview for the CR1/IR1....could be wrong about that
There is a couple on here that got the K3 and soon after decided to go with the CR1. They had to wait several months for the K3 to be processed after it was approved, so they thought the CR1 would go right through. It didn't. They ended up having to wait another 5 months for checks after it was approved.
If there is a chance the consulate will close in the middle of your AP, I would not risk it...just my opinion.

Congratulations!

Forgive me, but....what changed?

These two forms are basically the same...
1040 is used when you have deductions or exemptions. Example, kids, bought a house, investments, etc.
1040EZ is when you don't.
EZ means just that, it's the easy one....

I only made one trip to Egypt, and we have had our K3 approved. The CO didn't ask my husband any questions about how little time I spent there. My husband took emails, letters, and IM logs. We had 6 affadavits from friends and family (in the US and Egypt) and a ton of pictures of us all over the country and with his family. It was enough.
On a side note, the last I heard, the Consulate in Egypt is not letting SO's in for the interviews. You may want to call and double check.
If you have enough evidence you do not need another trip.
Good luck on your journey!

Happy Birthday, I hope your day is great!
Can we bring my husband's niece and nephew if they are over 21?
