I interviewed in Amman, Jordan in Feb 2023 for a B1/B2 visa. I was approved at the interview and the counselor even said, congratulations. long story short, after that, I was told I am in administrative processing and was sent an email with 10 questions which I responded to the same day. The embassy kept my passport after the interview for several months then called me to get it with no Visa issued.
fast forward to today, 17 months later, i still do not have an answer on where my B1 visa stands. Since about June 2023, I am not able to see the status of my application online. When I try to check at the Visa Status Check site CEAC (state.gov) I get the message that " your search did not return any data".
I have since married a US citizen and applied for immigration and currently passed the USCIS and the NVC stages and waiting for an interview to be scheduled at the Amman Embassy. Its been 3 months since I have been Documentarily Qualified (DQ) and no word and it does seem from my research that the Embassies don't seem to be giving appointments in recent months.
a couple of questions
1. how can I check the visa status and why does it show no data found? (see attached). I have emailed the embassy tens of times and i only get the automated response that gives no information other than use the Visa Navigator which refers me back to the visa status check page
2. is there any way I can expedite the interview
3. does the fact that I have applied for an immigrant visa (IR1) automatically cancel the B1/ B2 visa , there was 10 months between the two applications (i.e. 10 months before i got married)
what can i do to see that the B1/B2 is still out there and not lost/ cancelled/ know anything about whether i can hopefully use it to go visit my spouse until the immigrant visa comes through.
