Hi hope somebody can help with this. I am about to apply for naturalization through marriage.. We have been married for 4 years and Ive been a permanent resident for 3 years. My husband got naturalized through his parents when he was 15 or 16 years old. He renew his US passport a few months ago and he never got the old passport back. The new passport has the recently date of renewal and he doesn't remember when was the date he became a US citizen and he doesn't have a certificate of naturalization either. Please help I filled the form out and left the space in blank... what can I do?? I am sending copies of his new US passport. cover and front page. but I am very worried I can get REF because I am leaving the space in blank.

What Can I write to explain this? Should I send a cover letter explaining or what?? thankssssssssssssssss

Yesterday August 11th i received my GC!!!!! it 's a 2 year GC so that means I dont have to deal with USCIS for good 2 years!!! Wooohooo!!!!!

Finally 90% of the whole process is done.....until the last part: the 10 year GC!!!

yupppppp. I had my biometrics this morning @ 11:50 in the USCIS JAMAICA/QUEENS and everything went fine!! except for the parking.. there was no place 2 park anywhere and the paid parking was fullll..

oh wow.. como ha pasado el tiempo.. Vi Mazzela ya tiene su baby.. y Luis de Susita ya tiene su greencard.. y yo ya cumpli 6 meses en este pais.. que buenas noticias... todavia recuerdo lo desesperada q estaba para ir a la entrevista en la embajada. Susita que bueno que Luis este trabajando!!!!!!! Yo todavia no puedo trabajar nos demoramos para el AOS asi q estoy esperando.. y no seas mala preparale una papa a la huancaina o un cevichito!!

Just got the e-mail today that our case was transferred to CSC on July 30th.

Hey guys...

We got married on Friday night, almost got cancelled because we had a huge snowstorm here in NY.

It was so funny, Luis never saw snow before and then we got hit with this, you guys should have seen his face, lol.

So we can officially send in the AOS packet now... although we have to somehow come up with 1050 - I guess after Christmas, lol. Luis starts school at the community college here in February and I start my last semester of college at the end of Jan.

Things are just coming along

Hello everybody!!!!

Well finally i am in New York!!!!!!!!!! so excited!!! I arrived last thursday 06th at 7:30am and it feels like we never were appart from eachother. I am enjoying my new life with him. We have been going to dinners with his family, relatives, friends, etc. Thank God, the weather is not too bad, so far; so i am ok with it (I hate the cold LOL).....

I hope everybody is doing well and I have a question for Suzy or Kim. When I get married, i have to start the AOS?? just a little confused with it.....

Awwww. Vicky!!! I am so happy for you!!! that's really good news about the weather too! I'm still in Lima working, saving some money, enjoying my free time with the family and friends.. but my baby bought our tickets 2 weeks ago and we'll be flying to NY on Jan 19. It makes me feel better bc I miss him so much.. fortunately I will be able to see him again on Jan 15 and celebrate our shower.

This time, you will have to help me with AOS.. Is it ok?? heehehe.

Luis is here, we're enjoying every minute of it. Right now I'm at work and he's home watching soccer LOL, enjoying life. Today's my birthday so we're going out for 2fers at Applebees with some friends... the first birthday I get to spend with him, I'm so excited!

(USD4) and we thought that the payment included the delivery so I was waiting for so long.. then I called them for ask about my packet and they told me : we're open from 9 til 5.. come now..

We got the officitial approval on October 8th and have been trying to wait patiently for the DHL package to arrive with his passport / visa. I am seriously stalking the DHL website and since the 8th it keeps saying "En espera de retiro por destinatario como solicitado." Assuming that just means we have to wait more... They said between 5 - 10 days, but as he lives in Santiago, I thought he would have gotten it sooner, and I sure would have thought they would have shipped it already............... waiting again, gosh, I can't wait until he is here!

So sorry for not giving you guys all the details, we had a CRAZY experience. So I'll start from the beginning:

We had our interview on Oct 2nd (Thurs). We were approved, no problems, no crazy questions, everything easy as pie.

It was a bit of a wait, we were called into a room by the consul but he was really nice and everything, everything went fine.

They said we would have the visa in 2 days, to pick up at the DHL office in San Isidro. Well, they kept giving us the runaround and it never arrived there when it was supposed to. We went to the embassy the day before the flight and I called the consul begging for them to let us pick it up there because otherwise we would lose the tickets. The security guards outside helped us so much, and they were all great, we wound up with the visa, thank god, and were able to leave the next day at 6am. We had to wait until 6pm outside the embassy for DHL to give us the visa though.

So the next part of our adventure starts when we board the flight to NY. We had a layover in Miami, and our flight arrived late to Miami. Then, someone in the immigration office was in the process of getting deported so we waited there for about 2 hours and missed our flight to NY. American Airlines was nice enough to rebook us the next flight but switched us to LaGuardia. We got to NY at 7:20 pm, picked up some Chinese food and went home.

We went shopping on Thursday to get everything we needed. Yesterday, I worked and he stayed home and reorganized everything in the apartment (bored, lol). Today he stayed home while I worked and watched the kids. Things have been interesting... but good. It's more natural then we thought it would be.

Thanks to everybody who helped me along this process. We're just adjusting right now, things are coming along little by little. Yesterday we went to a supermarket and we bought Inka Kola, Chicha Morada, and Cuzqueño (his beer). So he feels a little like at home.

Suzy!!! I am so glad everyhting went very well!!!! I was approved last friday and i have to pick my passport on Wednesday!! I hope i dont have to deal with DHL .....Fortunately, I will be in New York on October 29th!!!! and I am sooooo excited and sad at the same time. i will leave my family, cousins, friends, etc but very happy to start a new life with my baby boy !!!!

Well....I was approved!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! today was my interview and I was very nervous but everything went well, people were nice> The only thing was the waiting......three hours of torture!!! but at the end everything was perfect!!!!

Finally approved!!!! We had our interview on October 1st and it was approved, but he lost his birth certificate and police report... I was going to kill him.. We went again today, with everything (they are only open Wednedays) and it was all approved... Soo happy!!!

My interview was so fast and easy.. they didnt ask me any question about our relationship.. When my fiance and I arrived they called me to window 14, then window 11 in order to show my documents and some evidence.. just 3 bday cards and the boarding passes.. We were shocked bc we had a lot of evidence in our bag.. a big photo album, e-mails, phone bills, sprint bills, etc, etc.. and the CO didnt ask me for more.. she said: Its ok with this.. go back and sit down.. finally another CO.. a veryyyy nice old man with a big smile called me to his window and ask me to sign the form 156 and 156k and took my fingerprints.. That's it. We were so excited when I received the pink slip and a big congratulations!

I was told by a person in the similiar situation at the medical exam today that they were told that all the papers had to be translated for US records??? I am soo worried now... We called the ministry and they are saying that it takes 5 days per page... OMG.. i dont want to get denied for something like this.................
