  1. Hi, i was wondering if anyone knows if the interviewing officer has records from the IRS of you before you come in. If so, why do they want you to bring IRS records to the interview? Does the BCIS have access to private IRS records? thanks for you replies.

Please don't portray me as a bad person, I have nothing to hide. I'm not even going through AOS through marriage, my father petitioned for me. I was just wondering because it's been a while since I've last seen my IRS records and I'm having a hard time finding them.

  2. depends on the basis of the petition.

based on what? my father is a LPR and he petitioned for me. I have my EAD card already and the last step is the interview. I'm just nervous about the whole thing and would really appreciate any insight! thank you so much

Their focus will be on the father-son relationship. Did they ask for a DNA test? If not expect questions meant to ascertain the truthiness of the relationship.

no they never asked for a dna test. thanks for your advice. any other experiences? thanks for any responses!

  3. I had touches after our bio appt. but nothing since. My positive thinking is that I'll start seeing movement on our case next week. Somehow in my mind I'm giving USCIS about 30 days after the bio appt to get the EAD going and about the same for a notice to interview.

If I don't get info on the EAD and a notice to interview by 4/20 I will start to get a little anxious. Just praying everything will work out the way we hope it will.

Does anyone know that if we haven't received an RFE at this point will we recieve one at all?

Hello. I didn't have any touches on my EAD except for a touch right after biometrics on 2/28/08. Then I received my card on 4/7/08. So I don't think you have anything to worry about! I was worried about RFE's as well but I didn't receive one. Hope this helps! Oh Yeah my case was at the National Benefits Center.

  4. The good thing about them touching all three is that at least I know they've linked the cases, but why are they STILL not approving my son's????

I'm wondering if the mysterious 'thing' they say was returned to them was a biometrics appointment for him??

JaEnglishGirl, your son will get approved for the EAD when it's his turn so be patient. Judging by the picture, I don't think the time it takes to get an EAD for your son is as crucial as others who are waiting to work to support families. We are all wondering why it takes so long to get approved but there is no magic answer to that. Patience is virtue.

Agreed.....I didn't apply for an EAD for him (no I wish I HAD though!)...Just AP since we were planning to go on holiday the second I got my EAD so that I wouldn't have started working yet....Will see how that pans out!!

Virtues are nice, wish I had some

Let's not judge each other. I know it's hard to be understanding of others' frustrations when your case is moving slower or you feel that you have a more pressing need for the green card, EAD or AP but you don't know the full situation of other posters and it's a process that has its highs and lows for everyone. I for one can imagine that you'd want to make sure your son is not becoming a stranger to your loved ones back home. Actually this is something that I'm struggling with now that my sister has a baby girl.

Peace, people-- at least we're in this boat because of great love and/or great opportunities. And this forum is a great place for information but also to share our experiences (including our emotions about the whole immigration process). (L)(L)(L)

Yeah definitely.. I'm sorry if I came across that way. The immigration ordeal is so hard on everyone that it's hard to not pay attention to the harsh feelings within ourselves. If it were a perfect world, all of us would receive what we are hoping for because I believe new immigrants are the hardest working people there are. I only wish the best for everyone here and hope that everything works out. I'm glad that a site like this exists. I am praying for everyone here.

  6. any experience?

Don't feel ignored, but I don't know if and how many people on VJ have been applying for AOS family based.

Hopefully someone can help you! I can't imagine thought that you will face any difficult or tricky questions, afterall, it's your Dad who petitioned for you!

Thank you for your input! I hope the questions are straight forward because I don't have a lot of nerve! Is there anyone else that has gone through an AOS non-marriage interview?

  7. This site is amazing. Great support from wonderful people from around the world. If only everyone in the world could be this harmonious! I just wanted to say I got an email notifying me that my card production has been ordered. My case was at the National benefits Center. Filed on Feb. 2. NOA Feb. 6.

Took bio on Feb. 28. Card production ordered on March 31. I hope those dates help others who are waiting. Yay for Feb. Filers
