  1. I am totally confused with the A number requested in the I-485 form. I am looking at my wife visa, there is a 8 digit red number below the expiration date, but there is also a written number at the top of the visa written by the INS authority at the POE that begins with a letter A and then the I-94 number. Can anyone tell me which one is the number they want in the I-485 form.

    Thanks, Jordin

  2. Hi to everyone a happy new year 2009.

I married Yamile on November 25, 2008. Her k-1 visa will expire on Jan 9,2009. The problem we have is that so far I have not been able to get the certificate of marriage. I have been going to the Registry Department but so far the certificate is not ready. Since our ninet days will expire soon I am very worry about not filing under the 90 days term.

Does anyone knows if I can request a time extension if we don't get the marriage certificate this coming week.

Also for cuban filers do we have to file the parole form under the K-1 visa.

I am filing I-485, the working permit, but I don't think we can file form I-131 or the Parole form. Please advice.

  6. My fiancee received her visa on September 2, 2008. She is been doing all the steps to get the carta blanca and she has it. Now she is been waiting for Vivienda urbana to clear her out so she can buy her plane ticket. Does anyone knows how long it take for vivienda urbana to clear a house doing the inventory for an apartment located in la Habana Vieja?

I just can't believe what my fiancee is telling me? That It may take another 30 days. Impossible. Please any reply will be welcome.

  7. Good Morning to all the VJ travelers:

I want to let you guys know that my fiance's visa appoinmente was held on August 28, 2008. She got her visa approved! If "Gustav" did not damage the US Interest Section in la Havana, my fiance is suppose to pick up her visa this morning.

She told me that date the lines were long and she had to waited over five hours to be interview but she mentioned that the interview was fine and that she was treated well and with dignity by the US Consulate.

I hope that the process with the Cuban inmigration move fast enought, I can't wait to be with my love one.

I want to thanks everyone in this site because without your direct or indirect advise it would be more diffficult.

    Thanks to everyone.

  8. Hi everyone in this Journey:

My fiance's visa interview is getting closer and I am getting little bit ansious. I was wondering if I go to Cuba to be with my fiancee at her visa appoinment and stay in Cuba with her, will the US allow me to flight out with her to Miami or Not. If anyone knows in the Cuban Forum, please share that information with me.

I am very happy that we are so close to be toguether again and I pray that every thing goes well for boths.

Also I want to express my gratitue to all the VJ people that had provided me with valuable information. I don't have words to express my gratitude.

    Thanks to all.

Hi, I can tell you that I was at the interview and they said it makes a difference as far as speediness. I filled out a form of inquiry at the Interest section, andit was included in his packet and I was allowed to be at the whole interview with him. They may not let you fly bacl together, especially if you are in Cuba without a license. I am not sure about that but I recommend that you go for the interview if you can!

    Thanks

  10. Hello Jordin,

I think the best thing to do is to buy her ticket to Puerto Rico from Miami. She can't buy that ticket from Cuba. But she can buy the ticket from Havana to Miami (only from havanna tur, not from cubana), it must be purchanse before receiving the carta blanca. Miami is a big airport and she needs to go to a different terminal to fly to P.R. so i suggest being there when she lands. be perpared to wait a couple hours to go through immgration in Miami. Good luck. Edwin

    Thanks guys!

  11. It doesn't matter which POE she chooses to go through as long as the airport has an Immigration officer to process all entries. If your fiancée can find a flight from Cuba to Puerto Rico, then she can go through Immigration in PR, no need to go to Miami for that.

    Diana:

There no fly between la Havana and Puerto Rico. The question is whether once she arrive at Miami she must go thourgh INS and then pick up a fly from Miami to Puerto Rico. Or to put it in another words can she purchase a ticket in la Havana from la Havana though Miami and the a connecting fly from Miami to Puerto Rico???

    Jordan

Regardless, if she transits Miami she will be inspected in Miami. Period.

    Thanks

  13. My fiance's Visa Interview is schedule for August 28, 2008. Once she complete all the paperwork in la havana I was wondering where will she be able to enter the US. Since I live in Puerto Rico and we are a territory of the US there is no fly available between la havana and PR.

Will my fiancee enter the US trough Miami, I was wondering. It is the first time she will take a plane and she will be landing at Miami Airport which is one of the largest airport in the US.

Will I have to fly to Miami to pick her up at Miami or will she be allow to purchase the air plane ticket from havana to Miami and from Miami to Puerto Rico, in the Havana. Or will I have to purchase the airplane ticked in PR to fly to Miami and purchase two ticket one for me and the other for my fiancee to fly to Puerto Rico the same day.

Have anyone in the forum have any expirience and advise me as to how to proceed to pick up my fiance.

    Any advise will be appreciate.

  14. Good Morning to all VJ:

My fiance's visa inteview is schedule for August 28, 2007. The time has passed by too slow. Some days I feel ok, but some times like today I feel so down. I stll have another 7 weeks of waiting before the interview. My fiancee has all the paperwork ready. I have called several times the US interest Section in la Havana to try to get an early interview date, but no luck so far. The same thing is happening with the 1-800. They told me that they are scheduling people for Jan 2009.

I know I don't have any choice but to wait, to be patien, but how hard it is. The last time I saw my girlfriend was back in Jan 20, 2009. I missed her so much. Well I know you people understand me well. You are going throu the same process.

Thanks so much for the suppport I have received from AJ .

  16. Hi to everyone is this forum:

I am a Cuban petitioner of a fiancee visa. My fiance went to the facilities indicated by the US interest Section in la Havana to have the medical test they required. My question is: If anyone knows how much it the fee or cost to have the medical test requested by the consulate.

I know that Cuban immigration charge 450.00 cuc for their medical tests and 150.00 cuc for the Carta Blanca. I also know that the cost of the visa appointment is 132.00 cuc to be paid at the US interest Section in la Havana.

Now, how much is the cost for the medical test requested by the US interest Office in la Havana and the result that had to be taken along with all the paperwork for the Visa appointment.

Any Cuban Filer that had gone through this process may be able to answer me.

    Thanks for your support,

    Jordin
