  1. Oh I'm so so sorry to hear that. All this time.....

So what now? I mean are you trying to calm his nerves at all?

Yea my lady arrived. It took a lot of pushing though.

We were in this situation as well, she told me the same things.

Im just so sorry to hear this.

How is it looking now? I mean he has 6 months to think about it right?

That could be a good thing.

    Hey there,

Thanks for the concern...he did not come and even though he has until the end of September to come, he has stated that he will never come here to live. He said he will visit Dylan as often as he can, but just to visit. I tried and tried to make him change his mind...he called me self-centered, and was just really nasty towards me, almost as if he wanted to push me away. So I did just that...I left him alone...as hard as it was for me, I just had to for my sanity!! Bad thing is I won't be able to totally cut communications off because of our son. I'm glad your girl finally arrived. Good Luck!!

  2. Thanks Frosty, and yeah I know it is a HUGE move anyone can agree, however he went through with his interview at the end of March and had his Visa in hand, only to tell me two weeks after he got it that he didn't think he loved me enough to move here and that he didn't have the same feelings for me as he use to. #######!! We have a 23 month old..He was just here to visit in March and never mentioned anything about not having any feelings for me anymore. He even left some things here at my house and advised me that he would have to give his job a months notice and that he would be here the middle of May. It's all so crazy...I was devestated!!

I'm so sorry that it didn't work out for you.

Moving to a new country is a huge, huge thing to do. I don't think it quite hit me until I actually got to the airport and had checked in. I was glad to have my fiance with me then, as it was extremely frightening and I nearly had a panic attack at the thought of what I was leaving behind. It was all very overwhelming.

  3. I'm excited for you...just wish my situation would have turned out a bit better. My man was too scared to come over to the US which ultimately ended our relationship.

Thanks for asking. Yes, I am here in the US now. I arrived about 3 weeks ago. :)

It's pretty hectic here at the moment - because I have a medical condition and disability, there've been a lot of doctors to get set up with, etc. We put in our application for a marriage license about a week ago, so we'll hopefully have that sorted in a few weeks time.

I'm loving it here though, and totally feel that the whole K1 process (stresses included!) were worth it. :)

  4. Well, we got our visa in December. She is still not here! AHHHHHHHH. Driving me mad.

My gal just wanted to enjoy her family and her country without the stress of the visa process.

She wanted to take it all in one last time before she moves for good. We have until June for the visa, but I think she'll come

sooner. Hopefully April. Anyway, she loves her job, her family, and her country, more so than the US.

I completely understand. But I still miss her.

Anyway, we have the visa. That's all i car about.

What keeps me going is remembering how good we were together.

And how good we will be.

    Cheers.

    Thanks for the update Kim.

    Hang in there.

Goodluck!! We finally JUST got our interview date scheduled for next week, but I think he's got "cold feet". He sent me an email last night saying that he loved me and missed me, and that he would go to the interview on Wednesday, but if they say yes he wanted more time to think and to make sure he is making the right decision. Mind you, he's been at his job for over 20 yrs, all his family, friends live there...I totally understand his fear. He said he just didn't think it would be this hard to leave. We have a little boy who is going to be 2 in May. This is all so crazy, all he ever talked about was being here with the two of us and now I'm afraid his fear is going to overpower him and he will decide not to come!

  5. My visa was finally delivered by the courier today. I can't wait to speak to my fiance later, so we can start planning travel dates!

Glad someone ius coming along. They never received our packet 3 that we sent in October so we had to send another one. On December 28th we sent by delivery confirmation and they received it on December 29th (per delivery confirmation), HOWEVER, they didnt enter it into the system till the 21st of January. Come to find out we STILL didn't have everything we needed, for some reason Simon didn't realize he was suppose to send EVERYTHING back so we were missing 3 papers. He sent this delivery confirmation and they received it today, but you know it will be another month till they enter the ####### into the system. I'm getting frustrated!! When I talked to the visa center, I told them it was getting ridiculous as its going on a year since we sent off the first packet. Do you know the lady on the other end of that call had the nerve to say "Ma'am you just sent this stuff to us in July", I said are you serious! I told her no we started this process in MARCH, JULY is the date yaw put into the sytem so it wouldn't look as if you guys were so far behind. She could really respond to that...she was a bit rude if you as me....UGGGHHHHH!!!!!

  6. Hello,

My fiance is from the UK and I'm an American citizen. I've just poured over the current data collected by everyone on this website on how long it takes a visa to be approved from sent date to approval. Our issue is that my fiance is currently a student and graduates in early June/late May 2011. We'd like to get married in July or August of 2011 so I've been trying to calculate some sort of a time line. From what I can see, it currently takes about 5 to 9 months from a fiance from the UK to have their I-129 approved. I figured that since the I-129 lasts for 4 months we'd probably what to have it approved by May 2011. If I figure the max amount of time it could possibly take being 9 months (this all being speculative), I should send in the information in early August of 2010. My one problem is; what if the form is approved faster and it expires before July/August? I know it's possible to get an extension, but (1) how much do they cost and (2) is 'my boyfriend is still at university and hasn't graduated yet' a valid reason?

Thanks for any help you can give me!!!

I wouldn't wait...My fiance is from the U.K. and we started are process in March 2009, they have lost or packet 3 and asked that we send another one in. So we did a delivery confirmation and it shows they received it on 12/29/2009, I called last week and they STill say they have not received it....I starting to get pissed as we are coming up on a year. He's already done the medical and everything...we just want a freakin interview date!! Good Luck

  7. Letter with interview date arrived in the post today. Interview is scheduled for 15th January. So nervous already!

Okay so I called the DOS on Monday and they stated they never received my fiance's DS230 (I think thats what its called) form that he sent back in October, they got the medical, but not that form. So he filled out another one and got delivery confirmation...they received it today...now they better not come back talking ish like they didn't get it this time!! Just prolonging this process even more...I'm pissed!!

  8. CONGRATS TO YOU!! We are waiting on our interview letter. How can I check if they received my last set of paperwork? We sent it off at the end of October and he called and got his medical set up for November 24th. He's done that and now we have not heard anything since the medical. Who should we call and can we chek online to see if anyone has looked at it?

You know what...I called and changed his address several months ago. I hope they didn't "F" something up!!

  10. Medical has been completed. It wasn't nearly as terrible as I feared it would be. :) I'm so relieved to have it out of the way.

Now, just waiting for the interview date.

Congrats!! My fiance had his medical on November 24th. So now we wait for the interview as well...this is ridiculous....how long does it take for us to get an interview....in March it will be a year since we started....I thought they said the process took 6 months?

  11. Congrats on the successful interview!!!

Hope you hear something really soon. Happy Holidays!!!

Okay My fiance and I have been working on this Visa thing since March 2009, he just had his medical on November 24, 2009 and we sent the last packet to the Embassy in London in October. My question is, how long does it take till they give you an interview date? Is there anywhere or anyone I can call to check the status of my application or when my fiance's interview is?

    Thanks for all your help!!

    Kelly :)

  12. Kimbear, I am so sorry to hear about your situation. It makes me so angry when good people who just want to be with their loved one are put through this, and no matter what they do, there's just nowhere they can go to get help or find out what's happening. I hope you hear some good news (or someone at least is able to tell you something) soon.

I have my medical tomorrow. Feeling nervous about it, but hopefully it'll all be okay. I've already been through all the paperwork and gotten together everything I'll need. It's going to be a long day, but I'm just glad to be getting it done so it can be over with.

My Fiance just had his Medical yesterday and he said all went well said the results of the chest xray won't be available till friday. I wonder how long it takes for us to get a response back for his interview. Its been 3 weeks since he sent all the info over that they requested. Is there a way to check the status of all this or are we to wait till he gets a letter in the mail?

  13. Okay so I got my NOA2 Notice in the mail yesterday, and there is really nothing for me to do at this point, I told my fiance the ball is in his court now...NVC said they would mail him a packet I guess what he will need for his medical and all that other stuff...NVC said it would take about 4 weeks for them to get the paperwork....does it really take that long? I'm just hoping he will be here before Christmas!!

if you look at your consualte review, you can see the forms they ask for. the beneficiary can pretty much complete a great deal fo these now and the petitioner has to give a few of them to the bene as well. best to do all that asasp so when p3 arrives you can send back the stuff same day / week and have less time waiting for the interview date.

So where do I find this consulate review? Is it online?

  14. 15. Okay I got my paperwork that asked for additional information within a couple of days of the email coming out to me. I sent it back not this past Saturday but the Saturday before that. Still no word that they received my additional info. They advised that although I sent ticket stubs they did not have a date on them and that alone did not constitute us meeting within the past two years. NOW I was almost CERTAIN that I sent OUR sons birth certificate which list him as the father (he had to be at the hospital to sign the paternity affidavit), he was born May 28th we filed in March 2009, that looks like two years to me by my math. So this time I made sure to send copies of my passport pages that showed I was there in 2006 and 2007, I also sent ANOTHER copy of the paternity Aff., and at this point I highlighted his signature. I also gave them a copy of my National Health Care insurance card which shows the same address as his, and a copy of my STUDENT VIS, now if this is not enough, I'm gonna be pissed!!

  16. NОА1 он тhе 13тh... and RFE just now?... wow... that means they do not work on the case daily... it is just that backlogged.. it would take 10 minutes.. to look over the sent paperwork.. and maybe an hour to look up SS numbers of petitioners.. Wonder what is happening the rest of the 5 month

NOA1 is just a receipt. Our cases are sitting on shelves or in files or something until it's our turn, unfortunately.

Your RFE means that you're only a week or two away from approval, once they get the info back, though. Correct me, someone, if I'm wrong. Usually, you get priority if they're waiting for a bit if information.

Well I hope that is the case with me!! They advised me they sent a letter out on June 29th advising they needed additional information...which sucks cause it just prolongs the process!!

  17. Okay guys I got an e-mail today that said they are needing additional information from me. I know its probably a copy of the front and back of my birth certificate and my sons birth certificates cause I only did the front (on accident). This sucks they advised they sent a letter yesterday to advise what info...this just pro-longs the process...I'm really pissed at myself!!

  18. Okay, so it seems to be that there a lot of people that are being approved, but the process is till quite slow. I don't know about all of you- but I'm losing it.

Hang in there sweetie, we'll get approved soon :star:

Yea. It's amazing how we are tested. I was venting and about to give up all hope when I got an email from the USCIS.

Application Type: I129F, PETITION FOR FIANCE(E)

    Current Status: Approval notice sent.

On June 23, 2009, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I129F PETITION FOR FIANCE(E). Please follow any instructions on the notice. If you move before you receive the notice, call customer service.

Now, I haven't received the letter in the mail yet, but we have been approved. The waiting has ended. Next week I will be in India, and he can join my mother and I to do our wedding shopping. It's amazing. We never imagined that it would work out like this.

I called him as soon as I could breathe. I went into the freight elevator hallway and I was so out of breath and sobbing so loudly that a woman came to ask me if I was okay. My face was tear-stained and it has all just been a relief. More than anything I feel like I can breathe again. We can have a relationship again, outside of these USCIS walls. I pray that this happens for all of you soon. I pray that no one has to wait very long. This is an agonizing process, and even though we all have to go through it, it seems inhumane at times. Best of luck to you all. I will be waiting for you.

    -Kam

Okay so I should be getting my approval soon as well cause ours was received and put into the system on the same day!!

  19. A relationship is all about gives and takes. Especially for this process it is about planning. My Fiance did the application costs, I will be doing my medical and visa costs, he will be covering my AOS because I am paying my moving fees. That said, when he got mugged I was ready to jump in an pay the application costs, I've now lost my job and he has offered to help pay moving fees for me. Its about us and our life together, we both know that one or the other may have to pick up the other one financially at any point. As LiLMermaid said though, you are agreeing to support him once he is here, and he won't be able to work for at least 3 months. You really need to talk a plan out with him about how your financial situation is going to work out. If you can't do this and you don't feel you love him, I would say its time to look at if this is really what you want to do.

In a relationship that will last you need to talk about everything, even uncomfortable subjects. If you can't talk about and come up with plans about things like money your life will be very hard, especially as a mom. You owe it to yourself, your kids and this man. Seeing as you just filed a short time ago, I would sit down and talk to your fiance, see if you can come up with some plan about the money, not just for the short term, but also for long term plans, and talk to him about how you are feeling...that because you have the kids you need to make sure that they are taken care of as well and that they are very important to you. If after all this you still feel horrible and like its the wrong choice, then its not the right choice and you should probably end it, write a letter to USCIS withdrawing the petition.

I wish you the best of luck.

I agree with Danu....my fiance and I went half on the cost for the application, and he will pay for his medical and any other cost that may occur on his end. He is also moving into a room at the end of July and getting rid of the HOUSE he is renting to save money. He told me he wants to have some money saved up once he gets here, of course we have a son together. I know it has to be very hard on him to be away from Dylan. He has managed to visit every couple of months. It sounds to me as if your not sure and I would advise on withdrawing your petition....I'm not gonna say you are crazy, just confused. I do agree that you need to take time out and re-evaluate. GOOD LUCK!! :)

  20. CORRECTION!! My petition has collected DUST since MARCH 12!!!!!!!! They are just playing with us...I don't see how they will get all of us complete by September!! I just hope my fiance is here by Christmas!!

Don't feel bad...mine has cobwebs on it since 03/16/09 as well!!

This week has been hard for me because of distance. He had terrible storms last Monday night, and was without power for a good 30 hours afterwards. Lucky his mum was able to send me an email and let me know he wasn't able to get online, but I hate it so much when distance keeps us from being able to spend time with each other - even if it's just online.

emmaline_g, I know it's hard. Try to take comfort in the fact that at least they are processing timelines closer to when you sent yours off. This gives me a lot more comfort, even though ours still hasn't been touched since it was entered into the online system on the 17th March.
