  1. So I would choose "a" on the I-485 form under eligibility category??? And if so, should I write on there "I-130 pending, see attached NOA1? An dhte NOA1 is the receipt correct? So I would send a copy of that with it and send it to Chicago just like a normal AOS packet?

Would they have to get the I-130 that is in the Vermont Service Center right now by the way (Although the Service center that covers our area is the Missouri Service Center) sent to Chicago or Missouri....

Do you know anyone who has done this before?/??

  2. I have a question for all of you out there, my friend got a lawyer to do thier permanent residency papers, and he only filed the I-130!!!! And it's been pending since March 2008, .............

so can he send in the I-485, and I-765 now???? Or does he have to wait until the I-130 is approved. If he sends it in now, could he fill out a new I-130? And could he cancel the other one?

or attach a copy of the receipt of the one that is pending to the AOS?>.... What can he do?

  3. My husband was approved!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I checked my email this morning and CRIS had emailed us and it said "Application I-485 Case Status:Card Production Ordered!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !"

Oh my gosh! Is this for real??????????? No touch on the I-130, but I don't guess that matters!!!!!!

Thank you all SO MUCH for your prayers, and encouragment!!!! This is definitely the best birthday present ever, seeing as today is my birthday!!

GOD BLESS YOU ALL AND MAY JESUS LEAD YOUR PATHS EVERY DAY AND BLESS ALL OF THE MARRIAGES REPRESENTED HERE ON THE FORUM!!!!!

  4. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Hey everyone,

We just got finished with our interview and we were told that we would receive thier decision in the mail in within a month. So What Does This Mean???

    So here's how it went:

We got there 30 min early and were called back 5 min after we sat down, we had a nice, but serious white 40 or so year old male named Ron and he led us to his office, swore us in and asked for interview appointment letter, our IDs and my husband's passport. *(he NEVER asked for the EAD, EVER???) He asked me to verify all my info, address, etc, and same for my husband. He asked questions to verify the info on the forms, he asked if we filled them out ourselves and I said I did. He then asked my husband all the "no" questions, and preceeded to ask if we had any more marriage proof that we wanted to add to his file (we sent in affidavits, bank account, tax return, and lease showing we live with my parents) he took a sample check that I voided, and a paper where we opened our checking account, more bank statements, that was it, we sent copies of pictures so he said he didn't need to see our picture album even though we offered it twice. He asked how we met, I let my husband answer these, he said in high school, and gave a long story about having a crush this year, and dating this year, he asked how long we've known each other, I told him about 6 to 7 years. And then..... he asks my husband when did we decide to get married, my husband froze up lol (he told me afterwards he didn't understand exactly what he meant) He started studdering (he was so nervous) and saying who knows what for about 30 or more seconds and I finally said he means our engagment, and I told the officer soory he is nervous and I said we got engaged July 26, last year on my Birthday, he just kept on marking and stamping stuff. I forgot to write this but, after the "no" questions to my husband, the man started explaining to us the conditional greencard and removal of conditions "if" you're approved, he said.... But he took our ids, and some other stuff and made copies of it, hole punched everything and put in the folder.... closed the folder and sat it in the middle of his desktop and said that he would look over this and that we would receive a decision in the mail in about a month.... And we left... That was it

So... my husband is all worried, he is asleep right here beside me right now and poor thing he thinks that him studdering about the "when did you decide to get married" made it bad.

So, what does this sound like, do they explain the removal of conditions always? They didn't take his EAD, but they took his I94 out of his passport, and he explained the removal of conditions, so could we have another interview? And would he have said something if he knew he was gonna give us another interview?

Thanks everyone! And your comments are appreciated! Pray for us

  7. Dear Lord,

Thank you God for my home, my clothes, my schooling, and my husband and family. Thank you for dying on the cross for my sins to be forgiven and forgotten. Please be with me and my husband as we go to our interview on July 22 and be with all the others that are going through this too. May your will be done during our interview and please lead us in the right path for your name sake.

    Amen

  8. Hello everyone,

I just wanted to write this topic to say good luck to everyone who is going through immigration processes, no matter what it be. For those who have upcoming interviews, or are waiting for approval, and you think you're never going to make it, I say this to you:

Trust in the Lord with all you heart and understanding, and he WILL guide your paths. Pray for God's will in your life and for him to be by your side. Prayer works and may this experience in your life draw you closer to God than you have ever been before. Think of these troubles as an opportunity to witness to others through this forum or anyone you may come in contact with who is going through the same situation as you.

Take a moment, think of all that God has blessed you with (especially your spouse)and thank him for it, pray for his will in all that you need him to help you with in your situation, and reply to this forum with a prayer that everyone can read and pray for you also!!

Reply by typing a prayer, pray that prayer, and please everyone read these and pray for others that leave their prayers.

  9. Good luck with your interview! Of course the men sleep sound while us women are crazy nervous ha ha. Well, our interview is in 13 days from now in Atlanta, GA!! I've gotta get things together for that This Week!!!

Question: So if I sent in the Affidavit of Support and the medical WITH the AOS in March, do I bring a new one to the interview, or not?

And also what the best way to organize the marriage proof? Is it ok to have a file folder + a binder/scrapbook + 2 picture albums? Or is that TOO much??? (=

Thanks and please keep my husband and I in your prayers now and especially the morning of July 22!!!

  10. What other from of US ID? Does it have to have a picture and what did you use? He has a SS#, EAD card, bank statement with his name, could we use his expired B2 visa? Or maybe Shot record with picture from the US?

I'm not quite sure about having a learners permit, but when I went to go get a state ID from the DMV before my AOS was approved, they required that I had some kind of proof of residency with my name on it. Such as a utility bill, US bank statement, etc. Also, my EAD and other form of US ID. I live in Georgia, so I don't know if it is different in other states. Check their website through for more info.

  11. Ok.. being in the process of AOS from being an overstay what is the process of getting a license with your EAD and Social Security #?

    1) What you have to bring to get your license? Like can you take your EAD and Social Security Card only? Or do you have to take something else for ID proof? The passport is out of the question for us because he is an overstay adjusting... so the passport is expired, he's never had any kind of ID here in the US, and his birth certificate is foriegn so they wouldn't want it....We had to use his Shot record from school with his picture on it (US high school) when we applied for his social security card.... Maybe DL will take that too!

    2) What did everyone else take?

    3) He's 19, so does he have to haev a learner's permit for 6 months, or can he take the written test and the road test at the same time?

    4) You have to take proof of car insurance correct? So how do you do that if you've never driven b4.... the truck my husband uses is his parents and they have insurance on it in their names.. is that sufficient. And how would he go about getting the truck changed over to our names for insurance purposes?

    Thanks everyone! (=

  12. THANKS EVERYONE!!!! My husband and I really appreciate your time and effort in your replies! You have all made us feel a little better!!! (= Now just 32 days to go waiting lol..for one of the most important interviews of our lives (until we have our interviews for being a nurse when we graduate! Yay (= )

MUCHAS GRACIAS A TODOS... (i figure i would throw in a little espanol lol... my hubby is latino, i've learned a lot in two and a half years)

  13. My husband's AOS interview is coming up in about a month! (July 22) And I have some questions that I would like to ask to those of you who are "veterans" to this process and have "been there done that" :help:

    1) So what should we wear... Sunday clothes (like skirt, blouse and him dress pants, button up) or bussiness wear (suits) ormore casual than that?

    2) How close do my husband and I get to sit in the interview.. is it like separated or chairs side by side?

    3) What impresses the IOs the most?

    4) We are young.. (he's 19, i'll be 4 days shy of 19 at the interview) what is their view on this?

    5) Do we offer information about or wait to be asked.. like could I be like.. "here are our vacation pictures from a few weeks ago.." and "here is our college mail that shows we get mail at the same place.."

6)He was out after curfew when he was like 15, 16 and his parents had to pick him up... they said it would go off his record when he turns 18... should this be something we bring up lol??? Would it still show up on his background check?

    7) When we graduated high school, he and I both got a scholarship for our academic achievement for tuition to a local community college where he goes now... will they look bad upon this since he overstayed a visa... he did NOT misrep to the college though

    8) lastly.. we got married in court (seeing we're college students with little extra cash lol) and we live with my parents... we didn't really have a honeymoon... seeeing we're gonna have a wedding maybe next summer when my husband will graduate.. will they question our court only marriage and no honeymoon...?

    THANKS EVERYONE... WE LOVE YA'LL
