  1. I Had to have my german police certificate translated into English - I found a translation service locally and got a receipt for the service to prove I had done this done professionally.

I must say, I have great respect for The Netherlands but am personally offended by you depicting the desecration of both the US and Netherlands flags in your Avatar.

OP isnt asking for approval fo avatar - to be fair there are plenty of similar avators using 2 flags spliced together - are you going to seek to give your opinion to each and every "offender"?

Thank you everyone for the information!! I've passed it on to my fiance and he's going to locate a service in Den Haag to do his!

    Hey!!

He can request an international birthcertificate at the city where he was born!!!! He does need to say very clear that he wants an international one! I have one and it has like 5 languages on there! It's the easiest and the fastest way...I think I paid like 8 euros for mine.......and received it in 2 days.

Everywhere where they needed to see the b-certificate in the US, the ppl were inpressed by the fact that it was the way it was with all the languages on there!

You can let me know if you need more help with how stuff go in the Netherlands....bye! Els

Just my biometrics on the 31 of July....no touches after August 22....and now approved!! WOW! God is sooo good to me!!!!! That made my day even better than it already was, because I also got a job yesterday!! WOWIEEEE!!!! :D I hope this is something that is becoming normal now...so that you guys don't have to wait as long as you thought either!!!!!

  3. Just find a local Social Security Administration office in your are and go in with your passport. They will have application for your to fill out and it's an easy process. Make sure you go in at least 15 days before the I-94 in your passport expires!

    Learn about getting an SSN:

    http://ssa.gov/ssnumber/

Thanks guys!!! I went into the SSA office yesterday and was out in like 10 min....totally easy..I just needed my passport and marriage certificate, I heard right away that it was ok and that I will have the card in the mail in 2 weeks.

But...what I still was wondering....does anyone know if that will help me get my driverlicense?

I know I have to wait till my EAD before I can work...does that mean that I will have to file for another SSN when I get that? Or does that go automatically in the system?

    Thanks guys!!

  4. Hey ppl's!

I'm probably totally " blonde" right now...but.....I never looked into the whole SNN application, because I thought I wouldn't need it....I'm married now om my K-1 visa and appilied for AOS a week ago........but found out I can't use my Dutch driverlisence here, because of the insurance company and was wondering if an application for a SNN can get me my MT driverlisence faster then waiting till my EAD comes back? Does anyone know? And if yes, how do I apply for a SNN...cause I couldn't find it on USCIS or this site.....

thanks for you help guys! Elsbeth

  5. Hi!!

I got package 4 today......the interview will be on the 22nd of May.........Can't wait!! :D What I was wondering about though........they mention that I have to transfer 89 euro's before the interview, but they say nothing about additional costs at the interview.........and I though that there was a big sum of money that I have to pay then............Can anyone help me on this? I'm probably overlooking something........

Oh, 1 more question......they mention that I need to bring the postage, so that the pp can be send back as 'aangetekende post'.........does that mean that I have to bring that on an envelope and have it all ready to go, or just the stamps????

    Thanks!!!
