  1. anyone else having issues with your aos? Seems they lost my tax returns and w2s. seems funny hoe they could lose y last 3 years tax transcripts also. How incompetent are the people handling this information? guess i cant expect much from the government when it comes to taking care of anything. Its so frustrating tto go through a RFe especially when you send more than the required amount of inforation so they wont screw it up. I bet they just didnt look through everything or just mixed it with my other paperwork.

  2. I have noticed a few things that the embassy seems to be really looking at that seem to be very important. The time line, which everyone has been required to submit and the number of trips to visit in VN seems to be a very big deal. i made 2 trips to vn because we received a blue slip after the first interview. i believe it does make a difference if you are there during the interview process. i know it can be difficult and costly, but it can be a difference maker. I had to make 2 trips in less than 6 months so it wasn't cheap, but it was worth it. I made sure consulate knew i would be there and i actually received calls from them to verify the day. i let the CO know it also by putting a letter in my paperwork we had to submit. I didnt use a lawyer and with the help of a lot of people here we got the pink and have now applied for AOS. thanks everyone

  3. thanks. i think i included everything. Almost the same as my I-129. Included copy of ss card, copy of both our passports, her visa , approval notice, 6 photos for each form, birth certificate with translations, Vietnamese id with translations, vaccination supplement. i also put form g-325a with all 3 documents just in case, copy of the marriage license also. plus the governments nice $1010 check :). i can wait on the green card. i really need the EAD. my wife gets pretty bored at home sometimes and wants to work.

  4. Well here goes my second round with the government. I am sending off my I 485 tomorrow and hope this will be painless. Even though writing the check for $1010 hurt.:)

I sent them pretty much the same info as i did with my I-129f, which i thought was pretty stupid. I did send a few different things like the vaccaniation supplement, and marriage certificate. I send the usual birth certificate, g-325a, copies of visa, and passport. i wasnt sure if i needed to send a copy of her ss# or not. wish me luck.

  5. Just wondering if i have enough documents to send with I - 485, i will send wifes , copy ss card# , Vietnamese Id card, birth certificate,I-94, copy of passport, copy of visa, G-325a, my birth certificate, Passport, g-325-A, and I- 864(3 years tax returns and transcripts, letter from employer, birth certificate). i know it doesn't ask for some of these things, but when dealing with the government i have learned to give them everything you can.

  6. They make things very difficult now for americans. We received a green slip during the first interview. Have you made more than 1 trip to VN? This seems to be a big sticking point lately if you haven't made more than 1 trip. I was also told by my senator that the time line was mandated by the president he said and is a required part of the process. I didnt use a lawyer to submit aditional evidence, but i did send my wife to see M.E. just in case. I would submit the additional evidence and see what happens. We had no problems and were treated very well. got the pink and the rest is history. only thing they did was spell my wifes name wrong and i cant change until my i-485 is processed, but thats another story. hehe. good luck

  7. Green seems to be pretty standard these days. we didnt pass the first time and my wife answered every question correctly. They didnt look at evidence either. They want you to submit things such as your time line at another time i guess. We submitted documents about a week later and got the pink. i do think actually being there with your fiancee does help. they dont like to talk to americans and they know they have to. they even called me when i was in vn. i sent them e-mails and called a lot. just turn in documnets and things should be ok.

  8. I didn't hire M.E. we just turned in paperwork they asked for and added additional things such as, statements from family and friends. they didn't even look at evidence at first interview, but they looked at everything this time. everything went smoothly and my fiancée said CO was very nice. i think the only issue i had at first interview was the lack of a time line.
