  1. My husband came here in November and we got married within the 90 days, so we married early February. We are almost done with the AOS packet, but we are panicking a bit because of one of the questions. “Since April 1, 1997, have you been unlawfully present in the United States? You were unlawfully present in the United States if you were present in the United States after the expiration of the period of stay authorized by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary or were present in the United States without being admitted or paroled.” Do we tick yes on this Inadmissibility question? It scares me so much because we were wanting to do everything the right, legal way. I’m so confused because we thought the only thing we needed to do was marry within 90 days then adjust status whenever (we have been gathering documents the last few months and finally have gotten around to piling them all up now.) I am being told mixed things, some people are saying to tick yes but then others are saying no, both having explanations that make sense to me. Also I think one of the questions are “Have you violated the terms or conditions of your non immigrant status?” Which I’m hoping we didn’t do either? We were going to turn in the AOS packet today but last minute im finding out about this stuff.. genuinely had no idea about there being a deadline or filing within 90 days if this is the case. Also can we get denied for this? Like did we mess everything up? I’m so lost I can barely sleep at night, thank you so much to anyone that can help! Or any advice if anyone has been in a similar situation.
  2. Ohh, thank you so much for clearing this up! I must've been confused on what sealed envelope which was being referred to as I had something else in mind, but yes he gave a sealed envelope to an officer at the port of entry. Thank you so much for this detailed response, it really helps clear up a lot of things for me. Also, no I was not aware of this? I thought we were only supposed to get married within 90 days, I wasn't aware there was a deadline for filing the AOS. He arrived here on November 24th and we got married on February 1st. Since then, we've been gathering proof of living together and joint statements, heath insurance etc.
  3. Hello! My husband and I are getting together our AOS package and having a bit of confusion. He had his medical exam in the UK on 7/22/24. He got his visa in August a month later, then came down here to live on November 24th. 1st question: Is his medical still valid? It says it’s held valid for 6 months from the date of his medical.. was that until the visa is in hand or does that mean he needs a new medical? 2nd question: What is the form I-693 and is it needed for us? I’m hearing very conflicting information, and im also hearing something about our medical results supposedly being in a sealed envelope. He never received a sealed envelope, he only has a couple pages he was given from his medical exam. Does he need a sealed envelope? The pages he has are a receipt, a visa medicals FAQ, visa medicals certificate of immunization, US department of state form 3025, vaccination documentation worksheet, and a page with the surgeons signature checking off “K visa applicant voluntarily completed vaccination requirements” And my third question: Do I have the correct medical exam results, and does my husband need more vaccines because on his vaccination results, a few boosters are circled that recommends them in a month. For example, for hepatitis B the surgeon circled a month for the booster. For meningitis, he circled 4-8 weeks. Is he required to get boosters or no because the surgeon checked off that he completed all the vaccination requirements? This might be an excessive, long post, but really we are so confused and want to make sure we get no RFES. The medical exam results are only a few pages and I just want to make sure that’s normal. Thank you so much to anybody that takes the time to help, it’s very appreciated! Any advice also is appreciated so much
  4. Thank you so much! It’s looking like I won’t need it then, and if needed hopefully just my photo copy will be enough
  5. Thank you so much! Your replies are always so detailed and helpful, they provide a lot to relief to me. And yes, for me too it would be inconvenient because currently we’re in the middle of a hurricane and I can’t go in person, nothings open, and by mail it wouldn’t make it in time. Has your fiance done the interview yet? My fiances interview is August 15th!
  6. Hello, is the petitioners birth certificate required at the London Embassy for the k1 visa interview? I’m getting a lot of mixed information on this. Some say yes, but others say no because this is about the beneficiary and the petitioners proof of citizenship was already proved at the USCIS stage. Is someone could clear this up for me it would be very helpful because I’ve unfortunately sent just a regular copy of my birth certificate to my fiance(beneficiary), and not a certified copy. The interview is next week so im in a bit of a panic, but the instructions on the UK gov website say nothing about the petitioners birth certificate if I’m reading correctly. If anyone could help it would be appreciated, this might be a dumb question but I just want to make sure because there’s a lot of differing information online.
  7. Thats wonderful! It took less than a week for my case to say ready once it was in transit, im hoping the same for you!! 🫶🫶 I am too!
  8. I just wanted to post a little update that it took a little over 3 weeks but we finally got our instructions letter this morning and already booked the medical for next week! Thank you both for the help and I hope everything goes speedy for yall! Good luck! 💖🙏
  9. Wow, that’s very interesting. I hadn’t read anything about that on here, whew im grateful I made this post I feel a lot more certain in the information I know now 😅
  10. @trisha_h That’s wonderful and makes me feel very hopeful! Was this letter recieved in the mail? We haven’t gotten anything yet, but the mail hasn’t come yet. I’m praying we will hear back very soon! I’m happy for you both!
  11. @ScarletWitch6x @trisha_h Have yall had any updates?
  12. @trisha_h I’m so glad it’s not just me!
  13. @ScarletWitch6x I'm not 100 percent sure but I know in total the at transit stage was around 4 or 5 days before it said ready!
  14. We haven’t received anything from the London Embassy and our case has been ready since June 24th. From what I’ve heard it’s ok to start filling out the ds-160 so we did that today, but it’s asking me to certify that I’ve received an IMBRA pamphlet which I have not gotten. Am I supposed to wait for this? I know we can’t book the interview yet without instructions from the embassy which we haven’t received, we just wanted to go ahead and get this form out the way
  15. @ScarletWitch6x Oh my gosh thank you for your comments, this was so beyond helpful and has cleared up my confusion so thank you so so much! Yes, I also have a lot of anxiety so I know how that feels 😭 It’s really difficult for me finding all of this information online so you sending the links and that shipping date has really calmed me down a lot. Thank you too for your quick reply! And yes, I was marked ready on the 24th
