Hi Everyone!!

My husband is in the process of registering for College here in the USA and is going through the loops of transfering his credits from his College in Cairo. We are trying to determine approximately how many credits will actually "roll over". Does anyone know of a web site that has tips or does anyone have any suggestions?

me and my fiance filed for the second time even though we are still waiting for an answer from the congressmans office cos we did not want to take the chance of waiting for another 1-3 months to see if we had to file again we already waited 1year and we filed on 5/5/09 over nited it to them in vermont center and they got it 5/6/09 at 12:13pm and today we got our frist NOA1 and when we tried to put it in the uscis system it says our reciept number does not exists yet what does this mean it does not exists? does anybody know how long it takes for them to put it into the system to see your status?

I sponsored my husband who is now here with me in US, and has already received his green card. Now, I sent paperwork for my friends husband. I qualify to sponsor him at the 125% rule but, my question is this... Since I am sponsoring my husband already, and even though I qualify to sponsor another, does this delay the process? Or is this really a non-issue?

I am just curious, is JFK still the only POE for a work permit? Someone told me Atlanta does it too???

i found somebody as co-sponsor he make 9000 $ but they didnt accept it .

i used my assets to meet the required income and also they didnt accept it

the form 1-864 says that i can use my assets .

$1010 is for AOS. If you file for AP and EAD at the same time, then they are included in the $1010. There is NO SEPARATE FILING FEE for AP or EAD if you file all three at once.

No, the $1010 for AOS includes the EAD. The $340 fee is for people who file EAD without filing AOS.

We are married, we married in 10 days... from his arrival.

If he came over on a K-1, he has 90 days from the time he sets foot on American soil to marry you. The 6 months applies to how long the visa is valid for from the time it is issued to the time he leaves Egypt.

He already has a SS number, and it states his visa is valid for 6 months. I have a letter from the US Consulate in Egypt stating the 6 month validation.

This whole thing is confusing to me....

Yes, it is correct that you should file as soon as you can. If you do not, you will be 'out of status'. This does not mean illegal.

USCIS looks at two things:

1. Legal entry

2. intent upon entry

If you have satisfied these two items, you are not illegal.

Now, if you are out of status you are likely to have a hard time with obtaining and ID or SSN (if you miss the window upon entering).

The law says you should apply, should is not a must, or required item. It is a should, and trust me, we waited for the very same reasons. I would recommend following the 'should' and filing as soon as you can.

What is out of status mean? Can we extend it? UGH!! We are sooo broke, as he is not working... still getting used to things... He has work permit since he arrived at JFK

I filed my AOS about 3 months after my K1 expired.

It is however best to file as soon as possible due to him being out of status and that is not the best thing to have.

We are tight on cash, and I was wondering how long you can wait to file? Akram is here on K1 which expires September 2008 and we were married June 19th, 2008
