  1. Well, okay, I guess I'm just too stupid to know where to look. When all else fails you should read the directions, huh? I was looking everywhere else, instead of the additional PDF of instructions.

So, if you are wondering too ...

    I-485

Who May File This Form I-485?

    3. Based on admission as the fiancé(e) of a U.S. citizen and subsequent marriage to that citizen.

    A. You may apply to adjust status if you were admitted to the United States as the K-1 fiancé(e) of a U.S. citizen and you married that citizen within 90 days of your entry.

    B. If you were admitted as the K-2 child of such a fiancé(e), you may apply to adjust status based on your parent's adjustment application.

So, I see I need 2 copies of this form as I suspected.

    G-325A

    13. Form G-325A, Biographic Information Sheet

You must submit a completed Form G-325A if you are between 14 and 79 years of age.

So only one of these is needed.

    I-765

I still have no clue about question 16, though.

  2. I am trying to get my AoS package all put together and this is more confusing that just getting the dang visa to begin with. A few questions ..

Do I need two (2) copies of form I-485 (Perm Residence AoS) .. for both mother and 6 y/o daughter? I can't find good, positive info on this anywhere. I did find in the cost section of the USCIS site for form I-485: "$930 plus a biometrics fee of $80; the fee total is $1,010. Exceptions listed below. There is no fee for applicants who are filing Form I-485 based on having been admitted to the United States as a refugee. Applicants 80 years of age or older are not charged a biometric fee; the fee total is $930. Applicants under 14 years of age: - Filing with the I-485 application of at least one parent have a fee total of $600 - Not filing with the I-485 application of at least one parent have a fee total of $930" so I am figuring on two forms and total cost of $1610 for this one form number.

Do I also need to fill out two (2) copies of form G-325 (Biographic Info) for each mother and daughter?

On form I-765 (Employment Authorization) on question 16 it says to go to Part 2 of the instructions to get the Eligibility Categories. The only thing I can find that has any link to a K1 says: "

    6. Family-Based Nonimmigrant Categories

    A. K-1 Nonimmigrant Fiance(e) of U.S. Citizen or

K-2 Dependent--(a)(6). File your EAD application

if you are filing within 90 days from the date of entry.

This EAD cannot be renewed. Any EAD application

other than for a replacement must be based on your

pending application for adjustment under ©(9)."

It says Nonimmigrant Fiance(e) .. but isn't a K1 considered an immigrant fiance(e)? Do I need to put a 6 in line 16 or does a K1 not need anything there?

Like it has been said so many times before by those before me .. why oh why does this have to be so damn confusing?

Thanks for any input in advance. :)

  3. Note, DS-156 is for ALL IMMIGRANTS not just fiance visa, so if the question doesnt apply to you, put N/A. It specifically says if the question is for Tourist or Business, and obviously if you are not apply for Tourist or Business Visa then these questions will NOT APPLY TO YOU.. READ THE QUESTION THROUGHLY.. AND USE COMMON SENSE...

She received no instructions with these forms. Using common sense and dealing with government forms do not go hand in hand.

  4. http://www.state.gov/documents/organization/82063.pdf

    https://evisaforms.state.gov/

My fiancee' is to the interview stage now in Russia, and she doesn't know how to fill out the ds-156 form. I looked and found two different ones. She says it's the second one I posted. Question 20 - 28 confuse her and they are confusing questions to begin with.

20 Name and Address of Present Employer or School

She doesn't work now in anticipation of coming here, so Q 20 isn't needed for a fiancee.

    21 Present Occupation

(If retired, write "retired". If student, write "student".)

This doesn't pertain to someone coming here to marry, so why is it here?

    22. When Do You Intend To Arrive In The U.S.?

    (Provide specific date if known)

Q 22 is retarded and a catch 22 one as well. She doesn't know when she will be able to come here as it's based on getting the freaking visa to begin with, so why would they ask her to put down a date to come here when she won't know til after they give her the damn thing?

    23. E-Mail Address

    24. At What Address Will You Stay in The U.S.?

    Q 23 and 24 make sense.

    25. Name and Telephone Numbers of Person in U.S. Who You Will Be Staying With or Visiting for Tourism or Business

She's not coming here to visit for tourism or business, so why is this here? This confuses her and it's a confusing question.

    26. How Long Do You Intend To Stay in The U.S.?

Well, hopefully from here on. How do you answer this?

    27. What is The Purpose of Your Trip?

    Marriage

    28. Who Will Pay For Your Trip?

    Both of us

Now, I understand the point of using the same form for similar things, but this is just confusing for people trying to come to our country to wed and live. Is this intentional to force failures in gaining visas? Why is she even filling out a NON immigrant form to begin with? She will be immigrating here.
