  1. Hello VJERS,

My aos was received by USCIS Sept 30, 2008. It was last touched on October 24, 2008 and it's been more than 3 months now and yet, it hasnt been touched and I havent received an interview letter yet. It was past 3 months already in the National Benefits Center (meaning it's past their timeframe) and I'm starting to worry.

Do you think I must have a service request for it? Or should I go for an info pass?

If anybody have the same situation, please contact me.

    Thanks and God SPEED!

We are in the same situation here. Local office is Detroit, have not had a touch since our petition was received September 29th, 2008. My husband did get his EAD and AP in December. Still no interview letter.

Yeah, i"ll let you know. It just sucks that they cant even tell us ehat';s really happening

  2. I already received my EAD first week of December but my AOS wasnt touched yet since October 24, 2008.

Ah, then you've had some action. :)

I saw some stories about AOS interviews in Detroit where the interviews were about a couple of months after the EAD was received, but it's been almost 4 months since I got my EAD, and I'm still waiting for that interview letter. Detroit appears to be slow with AOS interviews these days. We can only wait.

At least you have your EAD now. That helps.

Honestly, the reason why I am very worried is because my friend who filed in October ( I filed a month earlier than her), whose local office is in detroit too, already have her interview letter last December 08. and will have her interview this month.

And as much as I want to file a service request, they said they cant do it because the detroit office is processing March filers right now., which doesnt make sense because my friend who'se an october filer has her case being processed.

  3. what exactly did you file?...485 only?...or 485 , ead and i-131 together..

if you filed for I-765 at the same time...you should've gotten that..and as for AOS ,,,you are either getting trasnferred to CSC (no interview needed usually and they approved your GC) or getting interviewed at your local field office , detroit ...and 4 month is not that long ....you will eventually get a interview letter if you are not transferred..look at my timeline...i waited 4 months after i got my EAD.....so be patient...but info-pass wouldn't hurt...but you are probably gonna the anwer like..." you are still within the range of 180 days"....good luck...

I already received my EAD first week of December but my AOS wasnt touched yet since October 24, 2008.

  4. I would call USCIS and ask them to do a service request. They'll do this if it's been more than 90 days since your NOA1.

I'm a July filer and received my EAD and AP in October (about a month after most people who applied around the same time I did), and I still don't have an interview date. My local office is also Detroit.

It's frustrating, I know. But you can call USCIS and make a service request. That's a lot faster than going for an Infopass appointment.

Thanks so much for all the replies I got. So, is your case still with the National Benefits Center?

  7. Hello fellow VJers.

I was a lil bit confused in answering the I-485 forms. I got here on a fiance visa and got married. I know that for my last name, I shall put my married name. But for my middle name, must I put my maiden surname.

For example, I'm Angel M. Santos and I married Dan Wright.

My Last name will be Wright and my middle name will be Santos?

    Am i correct?

    pls help.

Thanks so much and God bless us All.

  8. Hello, I just found my DS3025, the one St. Lukes gave to me in the PH. It's where the vaccination record are. I was wondering if you have the same case like me. THere is no specified name on the panel physician but there's a signature. I didnt get my vaccination in the PH but they recorded there in my vaccinbation sheet that I have VH (varicella history) already. Im starting to prepare for AOS and seeing that there's no name in the Panel Physician line makes me worry. Will it be accepted by a Civil surgeon here in the US? Because I dont wanna receive varicella shots and pay $100 knowing that I dont need to.

Hope my co-filipina Vjers can help me.

  9. HEllo VJers! I just got here in the US 2 months ago and Im in the process of strting my AOS. I didnt take my vaccination in the Phgilippines..my bad. However, as i was researching, I got confused about what kind of form to use since for K1 applicant in AOS, we only need to submit vaccination report, must I use the I-693 or the Supplemental (1 page) to I-693 Appendix A?

I went to the USCIS website and found this :

Q: If an applicant is required to receive only the vaccinations, and not undergo the entire medical exam, does he/she have to submit the entire Form I-693?

No. Applicants who are not required to have the entire medical examination need to submit only pages one, three and five of the new form. The required sections include Part 1, Information About You, the vaccination record portion of Part 2, and Part 5 (if the vaccinations are administered by a civil surgeon) or Part 6 (if the vaccinations are administered by a local health department). Pages two and four, that would have been left blank, do not need to be submitted.

    source: http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis/men...0004718190aRCRD

But while reading some post here, I read that the 1 page I-693A Vaccination supplement form are used.

I hope those who have gotten their greencards or those who already filed their AOS can enlighten us.

Thanks and God bless to all of US.

  10. Hello VJERS. I hope you could help me with my query. After my plane lands to SFO, do I have to go to the Immigration Counter first before going to the baggage counter? My stop over will only be 3 hours then |I have to catch another flight going to DTW. So, |I was wondering if its time consuming.

    Here are my questions:

    1. Do I have to go to Immigration counter first before going to the baggage counter?

    2. What line in the Immigration counter must I fall in line with? Is it the New Immigrants Line? |(Im a fiancee visa holder)

    3. My fiance recently changed address. His new address is in the Affidavit of Support form but in my visa (inmy passport), its still the old address. He just changed city not state. Does it matter?

    Thank You so much VJERS!

    God bless you all.

  11. If you try to search "co-sponsorship in manila" here on visa journey, you would probably see lots of post from me. My fiance have not been working for the entire 2006 and for 2007, he only worked for the final five months because he was with me for 6 months (living in my country). He got back to the USA May and started working for the fianl five months of 2007. So, the Income Tax Return of my fiance has only been 10, 600. So, to be wise, this is what my affidavit of support package looks like:

    -NOTARIZED I-134 (MUST BE ORIGINAL)

-ITR of 2007 (I was asked 2006 too because he didnt make enough for 2007, and what I did is to submit 2005 too because he made 50,000 so in another piece of paper, I average the 3 years of ITR and emphasize that its 20,000/yr)

-Explanation Letter why the tax return for 2007 is low

    -Employment Letter (in cover letter)

-pay stubs for the past 9 months he has been working (he made 19,000) ---(I also made another excel print out showing that for the past 9 months that my fiance has been continuosly working, he made more than the poverty guideline

-Bank Statement (it wont be asked unless you made below the poverty guideline..BUT..it depends on the prescreener, one of my co-applicant was asked even if his fiance made OVER the poverty guideline

THE MOST IMPORTANT CONSIDERATION THAT THE CONSUL WILL BE LOOKING INTO IS THE CAPABILITY OF THE AMERICAN FIANCE TO SUPPORT HIS FIANCEE. In my case, I told the consul as soon as I got to the door that I have a co-sponsor package if in case he would think I need it. (My adviser told me not to bring up the cos-ponsor stuff but I still did). The CONSUL SAID THAT THEY DONT ACCEPT CO_SPONSOR ON A K1 EXCEPT FOR SPECIAL CIRCUMSTANCES. BUT WHATS IMPORTANT IS IF YOUR FIANCE/FIANCEE IS CURRENTLY WORKING. (on my case, my fiance just switched jobs)

THE SECOND MOST IMPORTANT THING IS TO PROVE THAT YOU HAVE A GENUINE RELATIONSHIP. As for me, they are overwhelmed to see the VOIP records of me and my fiance, love letters (snail mail and emails) and pictures. They might ask you questions about the pics taken. As for me, here are the questions:

How did you meet your fiance

What are the similarities of you and your fiance

And the rest of the questions are all about me and my current work experience. (i think its a bonus if your foreign fiancee is working so it's gonna give the consul the idea that you will not be a public discharge to the govt)

I decided to post this so you may be able to know that the most important thing than a co-sponsor (if in case you dont meet the poverty guideline), is the CURRENT SOURCE of INCOME of your petitioner fiance.

OOPS>>>> on the interview, my co-Filipina, YOU DONT NEED TO BRING THE XRAY FILM. IT"S JUST AN EXTRA BAGGAGE AND WONT BE ASKED.

<<<<<<<AND ALSO, IF YOU WANT YOUR VISA TO BE DELIVERED ON TIME, make sure to pay your DELBROS DOCUMENT VERIFICATION---4 WEEKS BEFORE YOUR INTERVIEW and DONT FORGET TO FAX THE RECEIPT TO THE EMBASSy (of course dont forget your name and case number when you fax it)

FACT: the NSO verification period is from 1-4 weeks. So better pay it 4 weeks in advance.

AHMMMM>> WHAT ELSE CAN I HELP YOU WITH..... oh, If you received a text message from delbros regarding the delivery of your visa, dont forget to leave an authorization letter from whoever you authorize to receive it..(just in case you werent there). Make sure she have ID and leave your ID too. That's required.

THe most important lesson I've learned here is this: Pray fervently (what I prayed for was that the consul will be a blessing to me that all the applicants who really love their fiance for real get their visa approved), trust God (EVERYTHING IS POSSIBLE WITH HIM!), trust your love for your fiance and BE HELPFUL TO OTHERS (it will help you more than you know).

When the interview is done, the consul said "Congratulations". I replied "Sir, I hope you dont mind me asking..Is My visa approved?" And then the handsome consul said "Yes it is" (I SCREAMED).

If you have questions that I can help you with, dont hesitate to drop me a line.

    God bless us all!

  12. Hello. Im really very confused right now because there have been posts here saying that US Embassy in Manila is not allowing co-sponsorship.

~ Does anybody here experienced getting a K1 visa approved using a co-sponsor? If so, what makes you use a cosponsor?

My fiance's income in 2007 is just 10,000 because he have been here from Jan-May2007 and just started working for the 5 final months of 2007. \But he would be explaining this in a statement and submitting an employment letter showing that he is f/t employee with an annualized pay of 20,200. WE'll be submitting paystabs too. (DO YOU THINK I NEED A COSPONSOR?)

~ Do you get your K1 visa approved on that day or you have been delayed because of the cosponsorship.

I really do not know whether or not, we need a cosponsor. I hope people wjo have experienced this will really enlighten us about this. Thanks

Salamt po. God bless us all.

  13. Hello.

I just want to know. Should I be needing a co-sponsor given the ff scenario:

    a. My fiance only have $10,000 on his Federal Tax Return because he only worked from the final five months of 2007. It is for the reason that he was in my country from Nov 2006 until May olf 2007. My fiance will be providing a narrative statement explaining that.

    b. My finace would be providing me an employer letter showing that he is a full time employee of his current job which has an annualized income of 20,200. Above poverty line

    c. My finace would be providing recent paystubs too

Do you think I would be needing a co-sponsor?
