Hi,
My wife has been here in the United States for a few years and she is suppose to file for a followup interview in May of 2011. We were thinking of going to visit her family in Philippines for 5 or 6 months leaving in Novemember and coming back maybe in April. Do you think this would be a problem being out of the country so close to her interview date.
Thanks

Hi
I was planning a trip to Costa Rica for my wife and me. The problem I have is her maiden name is still on her passport from the Philippines while her married name is on her green card. Will this be a problem for us traveling outside of the United States and in re-entering. Has anyone had any experience with this.
Thanks

My fiancee's K1 visa has expired and we have not yet filed for adjustment of status. Is there a chance she would be deported, or is this legal to apply for after her K1 expired since we did get married during the time of the K1. Thanks for help.

We did not file for adjustment of status before her K1 Visa expires. I know it says you become out of status til you file, but does anyone know what this exactly means? Thanks for the help.

My fiancee's visa expires at the end of April of this year. We have already been married here. Is there any other requirment we must have met before it expires. I know we should be filing for adjustment of status, but is that required before her visa expiration?
Thanks
No, the only requirement for k1 visa is that you must get married in 90 days of your entry to US, and you do it. You can file AOS when you want. If you want to start to work you need to file AOS for get the employment authorization, at least for me, it is the most important thing for now.
Thanks for the help, much appreciated

Renewing Passport question
in Working & Traveling During US Immigration

Hi,
My wife is from the Philippines and her passport expries at the end of next year. We are thinking about traveling to the Philippines early in the year and the question I have is can she renew her passport while there in the Philippines or does she have to do it in the United States. I assume she would be able to but just wanted to make sure. She has recently gotten her green card also if that is a factor
Thanks
