Menos mal que se me ocurrio revisar las instrucciones de los formularios por ultima vez y en el I-485 ( version 09/30/08) aparece otra direccion en la pagina 4. Feliz Thanksgiving para todos.

Hola, muy buenas noches estamos muy contentos hoy nos llego la cita para el Biometrics, sera el 22 de este mes. Hace 3 dias que nos llegaron los NOA. Mis Biometrics luisa ya son este miercoles 12 de Nov. y cumplo un anio mas de vida este Lunes 10 de Nov. no estare por aqui pero espero pasarla muy rico con mi esposo... es mi primer cumple fuera de mi viejo hogar espero no estar triste...

Solo espero tambien que despues de las huellas no se estanque ahi mi proceso o no sepa nada por mucho tiempo asi como mary..Yo tambien tengo pensado unos viajes a fin de anio y de todas formas me da miedo que estando lejos uno nunca sabe le llegue correo de USCIS...

Que rico yo aun no conozco nada diferente a Florida, pero gracias por el consejo aNdres. Quiero comentarles algo muy personal con el deseo de que sus opiniones mepermitan tomar una decision mas racional, esto es lo que sucede: Yo desde hace un tiempito esoty iendoa yudar a la oficina de un familiar y hay alguien en la oficina que ha sido algunas veces muy tosca conmigo, como por ejemplo una trade le pregunte que si se sentia bien y me respondio. "LEts do this...Less chat and more work" y yo solo le dije ok y segui como si nada con esa persona, otro dia esa persona mando a volar unos papeles de la forma mas boleada y esos empujaron otros papeles y esos papeles empujaron un vaso con agua que literalmente me cayo a mi, ella se disculpo y yo le dije que fresca que no habia problema pero me quite, porque para mi es difisil entender que alguien haga esa clase de espectaculos donde trabaja. Otro dia el jefe estaba diciendole a todos que estaba impresionado porque yo a pesar de que algunos dias me siento muy enferma voy a colaborar y esta segnora hizo un comentario como: "special people work for special people" la verdad no entendi que quiso decir, pero el tono no me sugirio nada bueno, pues yo no trabajo yo siemplemente voy a ratos a ayudar, para no volverme loka aki en la casa. Por ultimo ahora cada rato me dice que como yo soy MAritza de tal, todo me va salir bien, y cualquier cosa que digo me dice fresca ud es MAritza de tal y todo le ha salido y le saldra bien, como dandome a entender que porque me case con fulanito de tal ya todo esta solucionado en mi vida. y otras veces me dice delante de la gente " l love you maritza de tal" y trata de parecer muy amigable y bacana pero en el fondo del asunto yo siento que me lastima y ayer me puse a llorar de lo aburrida que me tiene, pues ahora ella ha asumido la actitud de hacer todo lo que yo solia ir a hacer y cuando voy ya no hay nada que yo pueda ayudar a organizar. Mi esposo dijo que me quejara con el jefe del lugar, pero yo no creo que aventarla con el jefe valla arreglar la situacion y no quiero dagnar el ambiente del lugar porque en ultimas es armonioso para todos, para mi no tanto al parecer pero para los demas funciona bien, y tampoco quiero tomar ventaja de nada porque soy familiar del jefe, y no considero que una valla por la vida tomando ventaja de esas cosas porque es estupido y poco etico. Mi esposo me dijo que la parara quel e dijera que yo entiendo que ella hace esos comentarios o bromas para hacerme sentir bien, pero que en realidad me lastiman. o mejor la dejo seguri como va sin decirle nada?

Hola Mary...Bueno, la envidia no solo existe en Colombia....mi hija cuando recien llego a los EE UU como novia del Gerente y Propietario de la Empresa, comenzo a trabajar alli al mes y medio. Mi hija, es muy linda y se viste superbien, sin exagerar parece una modelo. En la oficina comenzaron los ataques como a ti, comentarios, risas, sarcasmos, etc. ella no sabia mucho ingles en ese tiempo pero hablo con las personas educadamente para que la dejaran hacer su trabajo, alla ellas si lo hacian o no. Y te digo una cosa, la atacaron peor pero luego las ignoro totalmente, hacia lo que le correspondia hasta que se cansaron y hasta salian luego a almorzar juntas. Nunca le dijo nada a su novio, pues eran personas que llevaban varios anos trabajando con el, tu entiendes...De modo que, en mi lugar, esperaria la oportunidad para charlar con ella y si no, ignorarlas y si continuan, mejor irte de alli, ya que no es buena energia para ti. Busca otras cosas que hacer, si tienes carro dejalo y camina, busca un gimnasio para conocer gente o mira algo nuevo que te guste para aprender y pasar tu tiempo.

Todos tienen algun anecdota en su boda y hablando de anillos..Mi boda fue al atardeder de un dia muy soleado y con el sol ocultandose a esa hora, preciosa vista en la Tarpon Spring, una playa en Tampa, Fla. Los testigos fueron una pareja de americanos amigos de mi hija y ellos llevaron un cojincito en donde medio amarraron las argollas y se lo entregaron a mi pajecito de 2 anos que era mi nieto. Delante iban dos ninas regando petalos de rosas y todos ibamos en procesion hacia donde estaba la Notaria. Me dio por mirar a mi nieto y sorpresa...no estaban las argollas pues habian caido en la arena...se imaginan...fueron hechas por un joyero companero de trabajo casi artesanalmente, mi esposo llevo los diamanticos y estaba orgulloso del trabajo final. En ese momento dije...tragame tierra...me senti muy triste, mi esposo mucho mas, mi hija...En fin, todo mundo buscando de rodillas en la arena, incluso yo misma, tratando de encontrarlas y gracias al caminito de flores un senor las hallo despues de media hora y la notaria afortunadamente no tenia afan pues era amiga de los testigos. Encontrarlas...en la arena....que suerte, no ?

Porfa, alguien de los que ya tienen aprobados sus documentos puede sugerirme que razon debo anotar en el Advance Parole para justificar el viaje a Colombia ? (una semana, un solo viaje). Le he expuesto a mi esposo y no esta de acuerdo con ellas y mejor me pide preguntar. Muchas gracias por su ayuda.

Hello and thank you in advance for the help.

Maria Teresa and I recieved her K1 Visa and she entered the US August 23 2008. We were married August 28 and now are working on the paperwork for the AOS.

She insists we should file the I 765 for Authorization of Employment and I 131 for travel. I do not see the sense in that as we will not travel outside the US for the next 6 months or so and she will not be working. I think it is more forms that can delay the process.

She says, everybody on Visa Journey says you should apply for these things as the amount you pay is the same regardless of what you appy for. She says we will be paying $1010 either way. Will she be able to work and travel once she recieves the conditional Green Card.

Any opinions on what to do

Hello everyone,

We received our approval from the service center the 26th of April. After reading and trying to figure this out, it looks like a packet will come to me within 5 or 6 days. Is that correct.

And in the packet is a checklist that shows want we have to bring to the embassy¿ I have been reading of a packet that says do not open¿ where does that come in¿ Anything else I need to watch for that I might miss.

I am in Colombia now visiting Maria Teresa for her birthday and was hoping to go to the embassy on this trip as I willl be here 11 days, but it does not look like that will happen.

Since I need an IMBRA waiver for my K1 petition I thought I needed an immigration lawyer. Thus I did some research and talked to several and hired Alex Halow (www.k1fianceevisas.com). I also checked with the State Bar where Alex is licensed to see if he had any complaints.

My initial interactions with Alex went well with rapid turnaround on draft I-129F and G-325A's. But I sent a large package of documents to Alex more than 2 weeks ago and all communications from Alex have stopped. He doesn't answer email messages and he doesn't answer my phone calls.

Thus I have decided to proceed without a lawyer using advice from this forum.

However, I need to get my file of supporting docs and photos back from Alex and he doesn't reply to email messages or phone calls. I am totally frustrated as this will put additional delay on an already lengthy K1 visa process.

Does anyone have advice about what I can do? What legal recourse do I have?

If you end up needing any paperwork from Colombia and yor fiancee is close to Cali, I can bring it back for you. At least that takes care of the reliability part of it. I have read on the internet that once a US citizen and a foreign fiancee have applied for and received the K-1 visa for the beneficiary, if they don't get married and the foreign fiancee returns to her native country, the US citizen can NEVER AGAIN petition for a K-1 visa for the same foreign fiancee. I have ALSO read that the exact opposite is true.

Does anyone know which is correct?

The form states if you have applied for a fiancee visa more than twice you must apply for a waiver. I applied once and we broke up and just applied the second time and it is going fine

I am pretty excited that I found this site. I am amazed that you can come into this country by the thousands in a boat or cattle car, but if you want to come her legally it is exspensive and lengthy. Now that I quit complaining, I have a couple questions if anyone would help and if you do, thank you in advance

One of the remarks made in a post is that it is very hard to get denied a fiancee visa. Is that correct. We have met and everything sent in. I am worried about income requirements.

Has anyone had an interview at the Colombian Embassy. What kind of questions do they ask and how likely is it to be turned down there. My girl has been turned down 3 times for a tourist visa before we met.

I thought you had to file I-130 application first is that true?

I have just sent in a I 129f and did not need a 130. The process is simple but it must be perfectly done or they will send it back.

Back in July, I sent one in. They took 5 weeks and sent it back saying one of my divorce judgements was not properly signed and it was not a legal divorce. I had to bring it back to the court house and they said of course your divorce is legal. I asked them to sign the blank line anyways and they did. I sent it back to USCIS and then the girl and i broke up.

So 3 weeks ago i sublmitted another application for another girl and they in 10 days they mailed it back and said that the check i sent was not signed and it was for the wrong amount. I did not realize in that short time the fee increased from $170 to $455.

So I sent them a new check and highlighted my signature with a nice note (because the first check had been signed).

So that is as much as I know. Some of the things they require are

Proof that you met

Biography form for both

Letter of intent to marry in 90 days upon entering the USA

of course the check for $455

and some other things.

You must read the application very very carefully. Write out exactly what you need in a list and check, double check and triple check that you have everything.

There is one thing that i learned yesterday that i had not known previously. It takes 5 to 6 months but you can get it processed in 15 days for a fee of $1,000.

It is called premium processing. There is a toll free number that you can call for the forms.

Read the web site carefully and everything is there. it is www.uscis.gov .
