  1. Hey, guys!

I subimmited notorized photocopies which is the same like certified copies, don´t they..If not, let me know.

And, my attorney suggested to mail them back highlighiting the points, especially, because on the oficial translation it is state on each of them " THE DOCUMENT SUBIMMITED FOR TRANSLATION CONSISTS OF A DULY AUTHENTICATED COPY OF THE ORIGINAL..."

And, they do appear to meet the informations, payxibica. I went to the right offices and made sure to get the proper documents for IMMIGRATION VISA.. and they confirmed.

Here is what the NVC letter says:

BIRTH and MARRIAGE Certificates: "the document submmited is not an original or certified copy of an original issued by the appropriate govern authority. The document must be an original, or a certified copy of the original, bearing the original seal or stamp from the issuing authority.

BRAZIL POLICE CERTIFICATE: they basically say I didn´t provide neither from the national police nor State Police.

My attorney believes it was a mistake and guessing whoever reviewed this at the NVC did not look carefully at the docs. She will mail them back point out in a cover letter.

    IT IS SO STRESSING....

Essentially, a Notary Public can verify a signature that they have witnessed. A Notary Public can not certify or authenticate a document or copy.

Likewise, an Embassy employee or Consular Officer, can not authenticate or certify a document that they did not issue.

Your BC and MC need to either be originals or copies certified by the same people that issue them.

You can not make a copy yourself, and have someone stamp, sign or otherwise validate the document.

Your lawyer should know this....s/he can write as many cover letters as s/he wants, but that won't make them accept your documents.

You are now slowing your case down.

This is correct and dont worry about the originals because you will get them back at the interview. As a matter of fact they give them back to you before your interview.

  2. hey- is your wife HOME?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

I always try to message you but it always says "user does not exist" even when I have tried to reply to your messages!

    anyway...just wondering :)

Hey!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yeah she is here, been here since August 27th. I dont understand whats up with my PM status, I can pm people but they cant PM me, I sent a message to a Mod asking who i need to contact about it but they never got back with me. I see your almost done and you will be with your husbnd soon, NVC feels so much better than USCIS, despite the few times the AVR system has not been up to date for some people for the most part it is up to date. You are heading to the embassy soon thank god, VSC really needs to get their act together. It looks like the information you guys have been using is for the most part pretty good, glad they got at least one of the India terms labeled as such now.

I lurk around on here still, in the off topic forum for the most part. For the time being it looks like there is good support group for the CR1/IR1 forum so I dont give out much info there anymore. Are you excited about almost being done? Have plans on what your going to do when he gets here? You going there for the interview? It has been difficult trying to get everything here done, Bank account, drivers permit, and other small things. I got her a job until her english picks up enough for her to take the TOEFL and start doing what she went to school for. She still doesnt work much though, which is ok because I prefer her to stay home and study anyway until she can get a job she likes. So what are your plans?

welll....currently it is taking 6 months to get an interview from Jamaica...so..more waiting for me!! that is no fun and I am praying that it speeds up quickly!!!

We dont really know what the plans are when he gets here. Hopefully he will get a job quickly and then maybe after he has been here awhile and can adjust we will think about school!! We are both more than ready and our friends are more than ready. We are all just waiting for him!

I plan on going to the interview if at all possible then flying back down to say our goodbyes and come home together! nuts!!!

WOW, 6 months, Im sorry :crying: For such a small country they sure are backed up. Thank god plan tickets from VA to FL to Jamaica are around 300 dollars, makes the wait a bit easier if your able to travel there. Does he have a tourist visa? Ill pray that he gets an interview soon too, its bad enough VSC put you through hell, me and wife look back and while the reason she got an expedite was awful, if it wasnt for that we might be still waiting too.

  4. Caucasian

1 )of, or relating to the Caucasus region or its people, languages and culture.

    2) (anthropology, archaic) of a human racial classification; including people who originate from Europe and a portion of people who originate from Northern Africa, Western Asia and parts of Central Asia and South Asia having usually straight or wavy hair similar phenotypical features and very light to yellowish pigmented skin.

I orginated in America!!!!!! Even came out with a made in the USA label on me and everything!!!!!! It seems that those applications that still have those types of questions on them are way out of date considering that the big migration from Europe to America was a very long time ago, perhaps its just a matter of the company being lazy and not updating their forms. And also I feel the same way about being described as white , and im not even white really, not even off white.

  5. While I think that it is sad that our country uses those labels in as many places as they do, they are needed in some areas such as fair employment, banking(well was once needed in the day and age of in person loan applications), and other areas where racism was once/is a factor in day to day life. This country has come a long way in a short time in the form of racial progress , from our grandparents time to the new generation, compared to other countries which is a great thing but not enough to where there is no discrimination based upon ethnicity. So places still have to keep those terms around in case some one questions their hiring/loaning , or whatever practice it is, for easy access to the company or organization questioning them. Thank god that we have made such advances here that you rarely hear of cases where companies hire such few races that they are reported for discrimination but at one point this was a huge problem. Now its all based on education and previous job performance, I wonder how many companies passed up on Bill Gates for not having a college degree before he became one of the richest men in the country. I hope that one day that section becomes obsolete but until we dont have anymore ignorant people that cant see that humans are humans it is an added defense for those they wish to discriminate against no matter of what ethnicity they are discriminating.

  6. They didn't transfer you to a "special agent"? Every time I called to find out what had happened to my husband's card I was always transferred to what they called a special agent. I don't know what was so special about these agents but they always asked for the A#.

    Diana

They asked me what the welcome letter said, when I told them that it says we should be hearing from them within 30 days she said "well sir it hasnt been 30 days yet so give us a call back at that time". I really dont like USCIS customer service.

  7. My wife got her SS within 2 weeks, 2 welcome letters between 1-2 weeks but no GC, Called USCIS and they told me to wait until 30 days from the welcome letter, whichever welcome letter I choose to use, and then give them a call back. After how wonderful NVC was as far as customer service, and even the consualte was pretty good, I am hating having to deal with USCIS at all now. So it looks like according to them until 30 days after the welcome letter it doesnt do any good to call them, they didnt even ask for her A # or anything. :crying:

  8. Its 70 bucks....... pay it man lol, and make sure your wife emails the DS 3032 as soon as you can, your father has no control over that. Dont get so down that you lose out on the things that you can do, you only need him for the I-864 so you really can do a lot with out him. Also you said you sent in he I-864 for you and him to USCIS right? Did you make copies? If so then you can just create a new form using that information and have it ready for him to sign. I will say this, if I was you, I would be feeling awful about right now, your married life is now in the hands of your father, NVC, and the consulate. I feel for you , just stay focused and do what you can, you can still use a lot fo the shortcuts, the way I see it you shoul donly lose 1 month waiting for that first bill which should open his eyes.

  9. If you feel that your expedite is serious enough that they will take action on it by a phone call then give them a call, if it is for financial hardship they wont see that a few days will make a difference. You can always call them just to inquire on if they got it or not. I did not use a thrid party to assist with my expedite request so I couldnt tell you if making another call to your senator will make a diference or not. But I would call them (USCIS) just to check if they do indeed see that it is under expedite and ask them for an update on your case.

  10. Paid my AOS Bill Today!

    Now what? Ds 3032?

Do I have to wait until it says "PAID" on status?

Now you can either mail in your DS-3032 or have your wife email it using the format in the guides. Some get an email response very fast while other wait for 1-2 weeks, I myself had to wait 5 days for the email saying the accepted the choice of agent. You only need to wait for it to say paid so that you can send your barcoded cover sheet with your AOS. You can do the steps for DS 3032 now.

  11. Hi all,

Our expedite was approved for the I-130 petition on the 4th but our case has still not been touched online or status changed. Does anyone know how long after the expedite do they take to approve the case? Or if someone has had an expedite approved, how long did it take for your case to get approved?

    thanks all!

It only took 1 day from the day my expedite was approved but I followed up with them after every step of it, I have seen some take up to 2 weeks depending on the background checks and what not, I would guess that 5-7 days is normal.

  12. I filed the I-130 and bunch of uneccessary shi1t.

I-864, I-864A, employment letters, 3 years of tax scripts, bank statements, birth certificates, marriage certificates, copy of passport...evidence.

and now I have to send the I-864 all over again...god knows when they'll send me the bill.

I think that you should just call and get the IIN number when you can, then show your father that you can pay your fees online, atleast you can get that part out of the way. If you have to wait for some things in the mail atleast it will be the things that you have to send in , like the AOS and DS-230, and not the fees for them as well, I had just gotten the DS-3032 and AOS fee bill when I had already sent in my DS-230. It can be a very long wait, do what you can to speed this along the best you can.

  13. What is there that you dont understand? NVC is given X amount of days or time to schedule the interview for CR1 applicants, so the consulate with its huge pile of K1 and K3 applications has to work around those days given. Have you ever seen an interview schedule list from a consulate? It is filled with K1 and K3 applications, for those consulates where the NVC is allowed to schedule the CR1/IR1 interviews it doesnt matter if the K3 or K1 was there a month or 2 before a CR1 application, if there is a backlog of K1 and K3 they have to wait their turn, its the same for CR1 applicants if the amount of time given for CR1/IR1 has been filled but there are far more K1 and K3 applicants than CR1/IR1 and since there are so many of them it does not matter if they were there before a CR1 applicant or not. Its not punishing the the K3 or K1 applicant , its just a simple matter of time. Take a look at an interiew schedule for a few consulates and you will have an idea of what I am talking about, while I will say that me using the term "at the mercy of" might not have been the best one it doesnt change the fact the time given to NVC to schedule the interviews is still there so there is not a first come first serve rule for all the applications. CR1 are allowed a certain amount of time no matter if there are far more K1 and K3 that got there first or not. So in a sense they are at the mercy of the consulate because the consulate can not take away the tme given to NVC to put some of those people who had been waiting before the CR1 applicant, they have to share the time with k1/K3 and all those other visa types that the consulate DOES make the interview schedule for.

And lets try to remeber that the first attack you made on my character trying to say that I was making an unfair comparison of timelines becuase you had thought that an expedite from USCIS means that it is expedited all the way to the consulate which was very wrong, so to say that all your facts have been in order is just plain wrong. In fact from some of your other post it shows that your still learning a lot of the process but yet instead of keeping an open mind and looking to see why people say what they say you start out being combative with out even knowing all the facts as you call them or even knowing a lot of what goes on. Instead of just saying "your wrong" do some looking around and put something on the table to show that something is wrong, or do some looking around to see why I might be right.

  14. Guess you "forgot" about this post you made....

Again a big no, the consulate makes the appointment for K3 interviews, NVC makes the interview for CR1. So while K3 applicants are at the mercy of the consulate (who has to work around what NVC schedules), before a CR1 applicant leaves NVC an interview is scheduled.

    SNIPPED

How could I forget about that post? NVC does make the interview date for Cr1/IR1 visas for some consulates. Which is what i have been saying this whole time.......

  15. I used Loto's shortcut and it took me about 44 days to complete the case. It could have been faster but I was waiting for my husband to send DS-230 form and required documents. If you have all the documents ahead of time it would be even faster. I have seen 25 days as the fastest completed case. If you don't use shortcuts than it would be from 4-6 months or even longer depending on how fast the petitioner and the beneficiary responds to the requests. Good luck.

22 days is the current record , Bani I think was his name.

  16. My mother in law is us citizen. Currently she lives in florida and she got birth in Pennsylvania.

It means according u to guys it will take 2 weeks?

    right....

Maybe yes and maybe no, depends on if they allow for express mail or not. Talk with your wife and find out what is going on, try asking things in detail with her. She has all of the answers to questions but maybe you arent asking the right questions or exploring all your options. GL to you. :star:

  17. So,

Which documetns they both will have to get?

First , was the mother-in-law born in the united states? If so they need to request a copy of their Birth Certificate from Vital Records in whatever state they were born in. If they still live in that state they can go in person and get it in 1 day, with in 3 hours. The W2 information could probably come from the SSA , its only a matter of calling them and asking how they can get it. I have to tell you though, it doesnt seem as if your wife and her mother are in a big rush to do these things. They are not that difficult and the information is only a phone call away.

  18. Guys!

My wife is sick n she does not work since 7 years she is filling I 864 & my mother in law is filling I 864 A coz they live together.

My wife is on social security. She was telling me that she needs to get the her "W2" and my mother in law need her birth certificate to prove her relation to her daughter.

Our case has expidited and is in islamabad US embassy. I m waiting for those documents from my wife.

My question is that my wife & mother in law both ordered those documents which are taking too much time and they still did not get it.

Can anyone guide me that how many days or weeks they (IRS) normally take to send the "W2" & Birth certificate?

    Plz i need quick response..

    Thanx...

A birth certificate can be done in 1 day in almost all the states but it does not come from the IRS, if the Mother in law is from another country then that is a different story , and the W2 does not come from IRS, it would come from a section of social security I would imagine. The only thing that would come from IRS as far as I know would be their tax transcripts.
