  1. Hi All,

I just want to share my interview experience as i thought it would be useful for all military spouses whose husbands are deployed overseas.

my interview was on May 28th 2009 and it went well. The officer was very nice and kind to me. He greeted with a big smile on his face which made me feel a bit comfortable. He didn't ask too many questions though the first thing he asked was to see my husband's orders of deployment. Other than that,he asked how we met, when and where, if he's in Iraq now and where was he stationed before he was deployed,if i have met his family and then asked for his Birth Certificate and i also gave him a copy of his military ID. Lastly he asked to keep a picture of the day we got married and a picture of us traveling together. It went smooth and easy and before i left he stamped on my passport and this stamp is good for 1 year which means i'm allowed to travel out of the country. The interview took less than 20 minutes who i waited for them to call my name for 30 minutes.

p.s. i brought LOTS of all the documents they might ask to see but all they asked was 2 pictures (of us together) and a copy of my husband's birth certificate, tho, I would recommend you (who's going for an interview) to bring all the proof you have.

  2. We passed our interview today in San Diego, our IO looked over a couple photos, and asked us some simple quesions. The entire process was less than 10 min!!!

He said she was approved, and that she will be receiving her GC within 2 weeks.

One question, he didnt keep her passport from Brazil.

Should he have kept it? Or is this cool?

    hey congrats,

i'm having my interview next month in San Diego too :)

  3. my fiance's visa expires on march 12.. it is march 3rd.. and i still havent sent in the documents.. i am finishing them up.. it took forever for a copy of our marriage certificate and with school and work, only made things worse... is this a problem??

No it's not a problem if you already got married. If you get married within 90 days after you arrived in the States ,you can file in to adjust your status anytime you want but i would recommend you to do it soon. Good Luck

  4. Question about packet 4:

After fiancee receives appointment letter, is that when the I-134 (affidavit of support) should be returned to consulate?

I-134 should have been mailed to the consulate with Packet 3. but if she didn't mail it then she can bring it along on her interview date. After she gets her Packet 4,DO NOT return anything to the consulate, all she has to do is to wait for her interview date to come. hope this help :)

  5. Hey Guys... So this morning I was checking the USCIS website (because of we got a touch yesterday) and guess what???

  6. a quick update

my interview was on November 7 and it went well, they didn't ask me much about my fiance (most of the questions were about my job and my education) and it took 2 mins for the conversation..haha.. i'm serious. (but i waited for 2 hours to get interviewed....haha.)

gotta go pick up my passport on November 12 and i'll fly to CA on November 25

    wow..can't believe it really happens!!!!

    :dance::dance::dance:

    hope everyone is doing well.

    cheers,

    aom

  7. Hey guys!!Sorry seems like 4ever ive been on this...just had a very busy few days of packing, saying goodbyes :crying::blush: and getting my sister and friend to try on their bridesmaid dresses. Theyre stunning (so much so that im worried that the dress is better than my own hahah :rofl: ) ahh well...

I got my visa on 22nd (2 days after the interview so very quick) The embassy give you option to pay considerably more to get it delieverd b4 10am ect but i wud say dont bother..i paid the 14.50 and got mine at 1pm so unless you arent in dont worry about it.

Hannah, i was worrying so much about everything..what thye wud say, what they wud ask...so just in case i bought a whole other folder containing evidence ect (altho i didnt go overboard) and the didnt ask to see it. I havnt read 1 review form london where some1s put they asked to see it. I felt better knowing i had it but dont go overboard and spend hours and hours because its pretty certain they WONT ask! Just have your paperwrk in oredr. I also had USD in exct money to pay at the counter for visa. I was so organised it was unreal (haha and very unlike me)

I fly out on 27th (this monday) i cant wait but saying goodbye to friends and family is hard - but I DO get to see most of them in jan so its not all bad and of course i get to see Andrew :)

Good luck  youll be fine

Congrats on the Visa ! i just sent my Packet 3 back to USEM and requested for my interview date on November 7 as my fiance is getting deployed to Iraq soon :(

so in the UK they deliver your passport for Immigrant visa? but here in Thailand you have to go pick it up 2 days after your interview.

  8. my fiance just called all happy and said go look at the uscis site and check your status and this is what it says!!!!!!!

    Current Status: Approval notice sent.

On September 30, 2008, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I129F PETITION FOR FIANCE(E).

    hey! congrats :)

  9. thats weird,US embassy here in Bangkok never keeps your passport if they need 2nd interview, they will just tell you to come back later and bring your passport with you.

why do you have to pay for the PIN just to go get your passport back? can't you just go the embassy and ask for your passport back?

i think it's different here in Thailand then.

i'm sorry about what happened to you but i hope they give your passport back.

  10. Are you legally married? You wrote that you didn't get married but your writing was confusing towards the end.

If you are, then you cannot file for a K1 visa...a K1 is for NON married foreigners coming into the U.S. to marry their USC Fiance.

If you are married you will need to file for a spousal visa.

Just because the K1 is faster doesn't mean you should break the rules. You will be denied if you are already married.

If you are not married then you can file for another K1 and wait. You may need a waiver.

    thanks everybody !

We didnt get married yet. We are going to apply paperwork again but we're confusing what kind of visa is better for this time, fiance or spouse visa.

To write a waiver, do we need to explain every detail why the first K1 didnt work out or it should be brief ?

    Many thanks

hey,i know some people that filed for K1 visa twice, and they were fine. so don't you worry about it.just do what you have to do like the first time. as long as u left the states before visa expired last time you are fine to file for K1 visa again.

    good luck.

  11. I'm starting to really hate you september VSC filers, with your ridiculously fast noa2's! This is the second time for september someone has gotten a noa2 really fast without an expedite (that I know of anyway). There has to be something screwy going on with how they are processing applications, possibly even a change. Could they have hired a bunch of new, temp people to handle the incoming petitions while the backlog is being caught up or something?

I'll go ahead and admit I'm just jealous, not that it's obvious or anything... I'll be happy to be one of the normal ones who only have to wait about 5 months and not get stuck in some FBI name check for a year and a half...

Sorry, I do feel your pain! But good news I did get the NOA 2 hardcopy! So it's official!

wow! congrats and i'm so happy for you!

congrats on your NOA2 hard copy,it's official yes!!

  12. hey :) thx i'm still excited and surprised .haha

    Congratulations!

Hope we would get our NOA2 ASAP... :bonk:

HEY GUYS!! TAKE A LOOK AT THIS ,I JUST GOT IT LIKE 15 MINS AGO!!!!

    FINALLY!!!!!!!! :dance::devil:
