hi guys,

I am a US Citizen and trying to bring my sister here...5 years ago my wife and I had a baby and my sister wanted to come here and see our baby...she applied for a tourist visa and got rejected 3 times in the last 5 years...their reason was that I came here on a student visa and married and got my citizenship...they said what if she does the same thing...she has not tired anymore after 2008...

she has no intention on staying here just to visit...she is a doctor in Istanbul,Turkey and has ties there...she even got a visa for UK. she has been to London and some other parts of Europe...and went back to Turkey after each trip this year..

last week my nice applied for a work and travel visa and was approved...now I am loosing my mind...

What to do, what to do......?

No, she didnt lie about anything...She literally told them that she was applying for a tourist visa to see her nephew at the time ...that was all and that was 3 years ago...

Would rejection of previous tourist visa effect the K-1 visa...?

So, now she is going to apply for K-1 visa....

I have no idea about K-1 visa..and my sister leaves in turkey and her boyfriend leaves in the U.S... He will go to turkey to see her in a month...then what...?

They will likely know about the denial. She should be honest about it

to combat it, she should have strong ties to Turkey, what does she have? Home? children? job?

she is a government employee and has been working with them for 8-9 years...she also has been to london,england on a tourist visa and went back to turkey..would that be helpful to get the US visa...? I mean isn`t it obvious that she is NOT trying to immigrate to another country...?

I came to US on a student visa and got married years ago...and became a US Citizen couple years ago.

3 years ago my sister wanted to come to see our new born baby and applied for a tourist visa.but the visa officer told her that since i came here on a visa and got married she may do the same thing and rejected her visa application...

its been 3 years since that happened...so , now she wants to give it another try but, we are kinda curious if they would say the same thing or see in their systems why she was rejected 3 years ago and reject her visa application again...

Does anyone know how long they keep those records in their databases at their embassies...?

any suggestions on that would be highly appreciated...

No - it looks like you owe them something, but they are extending you out to pay to Oct. 1st.

So your in the clear, if I am understanding what your wrote correctly.

(but like pointed out above - it's mostly Fed taxes they are concerned about, not state)

yes i am sure that i owe them but, she said it`s not overdue and on the document checklist it says if you have any federal, state or local taxes that are overdue.....so, she said i am definetly in the clear and i owe them but it`s not overdue at all...i am so relieved....

Can they give you in writing? that they do not have anything like that and you can pay whenever you want?

Hello everyone, It is my turn now to report a successful interview and same day oath yesterday!

Everything when every well and smoothly...

Though my interview was schedule for 8:45, I was in and out by 8:05 the whole thing took about 15 mins.

I was approved, and I did the afternoon oath.

He went through my application with the "yes" and "no", then he asked 6 questions, when I got them all right he stopped.

questions:

1-what is one promise you make when you become US citizen?

2-who is your governor?

3-where is the statue of the liberty?

4-First US president?

5- what are 2 US holidays?

6- Can't remember

He made me read: "what the sate has the most people?"

and write:" California has the most people"

Then, congratulated me and asked if i wanted same day oath, and gave me the result sheet.

I came back at 1PM for the oath ceremony.
