  1. Hi VisaJourney family,

I am so happy to say that our Visa journey is complete. :D And as you all know, it has certainly been a journey! This was one of the hardest things I have had to do, and would not have been able to do it without the support of all of you. Special thanks to Delicia and her spreadsheet for keeping my hope of approval alive, and to Loto for the wonderful NVC documents.

As you can see form our timeline, we were your average IR1-CR1 case, no special circumstances, no expedites, etc. Our journey took 8 months. We are so happy that our journey is now complete, and I would like to give hope to others that there is light at the end of the tunnel.

Ciaran went through US customs in Dublin and I am picking him up from O'Hare airport this afternoon. The immigration officer congratulated him and told him good luck. I am so happy that we are going to be together now for the rest of our lives.

Because of this experience, I will never take Ciaran for granted and on our 50th anniversary we will look back at our journey and think of it as only a small, distant memory....

    Thank you all! Good luck!!

  2. Yeah I pretty much agree with Laura.

There is a space on Packet 3 that asks something about preferred interview date AND date of wedding & travel, did you fill that in? usually people use that to get a speedier interview, we didn't since we didnt have any concrete wedding plans (venue ect) we are happy to take whatever they have free.

I think if it was further away they might be more sympathetic, but with less than a month you probably have alot of people before you.

    Best of luck anyway mate!

Thanks guys, thats what i figured...my process has been fairly speedy in comparison to some people, so im just glad it moving along well. Thanks again. Good luck to all

My husband originally had an interview for Sept 9 and was able to get it changed to Sept 5 at the earliest they said. This is for the US Embassy in Dublin so it might work other places as well. Good luck!

  3. Bani, congratulations!! I know the feeling... we just found out Ciaran's interview date as well! He is scheduled for Sept. 5 and is planning to get on a plane right away that weekend!!! SOOOO HAPPY! This has been such a long journey for all of us and I'm so glad it's coming to an end.

And thanks a million to Loto, I don't know how many times I referenced Loto's documents. You are amazing!

  4. Hey guys-

I mailed in the I-864 over 2 weeks ago and now, for about a week, I have gotten the RFE message when I call the NVC. However, the DS-230 was invoiced and I paid that today (Sunday). My question is... if information is missing or incomplete on the I-864, will they still go ahead and invoice the DS-230? I'm just wondering if the RFE could be with the I-864 or if it just meant that they hadn't generated the DS-230 as per loto's sheet. Do you think they will generate the IV DS-230 fee bill even if you have an RFE with the I-864? Or because they have invoiced the IV now, am I in the clear and it was a false RFE?

    Thanks so much guys!

  5. Hey guys! I've been reading your posts because I just paid my AOS fee bill online today and my husband e-mailed the NVC the DS3032 Choice of Agent today as well.

My question for you guys is... when you e-mailed the DS3032 Choice of Agent, did you include a barcode? Since my AOS fee is still IN PROCESS, I wasn't able to print a barcode cover sheet. My husband went ahead and mailed the DS3032 without the barcode. Do you think this is ok? Will NVC accept e-mail without a barcode?

    Thanks guys!!!

  6. Hi Loto!

Thanks so much for your guides! They have helped a lot. If you have some time to answer, I have a question for you....

My NVC case number was assigned last Monday, June 16. I have called the NVC telephone line, that's how I knew my case had been assigned a number. I have never been able to get through to an operator. How do I know when my AOS bill has been invoiced? Or when my DS3032 has been receieved? Or any other steps in the fastest NVC process? Will it say on the automatic message or will I only know this after speaking to an operator?

    Thanks loto!

  7. Hi VJers! Is there anyone on here from Ireland who recently went through an interview in Dublin?

I live in Chicago and my husband lives in Ireland right now. Our I-130 got approved a couple of weeks ago and we just got our NVC case number assigned.

My question for other Irishmen out there is...

How long after the NVC completed your case were you able to get an interview at the US Embassy in Dublin? Couple days, couple weeks?

    Thanks! :innocent:

  8. Hi Guys! we got the approval for our I-130 from CSC today. Thus, we would very much like to thank all of you for the support and the motiviation, your a company has been very helpful to us. We were very lucky to follow your tips and tricks! We wish the rest of us goodluck and a patient.

Guys! I would like to assume that our Ref. call lastweek has helped to move something as they assigned our case to an officer 1 day after the call !!!!

    Timeline

    -------------------

    11/21/07 I-130

    01/25/08 NOA 1 (I-130)

    11/06/08 Approved

CONGRATS!! It feels so good to get that NOA2! Good luck with NVC.

  9. WE GOT APPROVED!! AAHHHH!!! I'm SOOOO excited! I checked my mail today and got the letter I have been waiting for 6 months! We were January filers so I'm sure a lot of you will be getting approvals soon! I was so happy I was crying today! All of the stress and emotion of the past 6 months has finally been lifted. :D:D:D

    GOD IS SO GOOD!

Our case was touched on June 4, but the status wasn't updated in the system and I never received an e-mail. I think this touch was our approval because I just got the letter today (well I guess it came in the mail yesterday since today is Sunday!)

I'm soooo happy and good luck to the rest of you, hang in there, yours will come soon!

 congratulation on your approval. VSC and CSC didn't have any approval in while except expedite. Glad to hear approval. It is not expedite, is it?

    No expedite, just regular I-130!

  11. Hey guys-

I have heard of people being penalized for calling the USCIS number too often asking for case status. Is the same true for online? I have this habit of checking my case status online on the USCIS website everyday just in case I do actually have an approval, even though I have signed up for email updates! It's just a comfort thing to check it I guess. :innocent:

Does USCIS track this? Is this looked down upon, just like calling in to check your status everyday? Anybody know if USCIS will penalize people who check online case status everyday, like I have heard they have done with too many calls?

    Thanks!!

  12. Hey! Still in a euphoric fog for having my man with me for the next few months...

He was doing a land crossing near Detroit from Canada (he just finished school there)-

his main problem was that he had forgotten to surrender his 194w when he visited for a few days in February, so he had to get them to take it and reissue him a new one - it was VERY touch and go there for a while! It didn't take the whole 3 hours he just had to wait for the next bus to come take him to the airport in Detroit... he had to use his supplemental documents to get them to believe that he had intentions to leave...

    i'm SOOOOOOOOOO happy!!!!!!!!

Oh wow that's great! Was he flying out of Dublin? What did they ask him in the 3 hours????

Yay good for you guys! I'm so happy for you!!

  13. Absolutely not. My husband and I looked into this and lawyers are only there to fill out the paperwork for you. They charge you an arm and a leg and will tell you it is faster only because they want your money. If you are simply filling out an I-130 and I-129f and have no special circumstances, you should be good to go, especially with all the help from this wonderful site!

  14. I got really excited this morning when I clicked on the Timelines and saw that the CSC is up to mid-February for K3s! I also checked the K3 timelines and saw a lot of recent approvals. Then I looked at the IR-1/CR-1 timelines, and there haven't been any new approvals in over a week.

Does anyone know why this is? Is the USCIS putting a priority on I-130s submitted along with a 129f? Anyone have any ideas? I'm starting to think that we should have done a K3 instead of a IR-1/CR-1 because in that case, the I-130s and the 129fs are getting approved at the same time! Help!
