  2. AND AGAIN!!! I need help! lol! on the I-129f it ask for the address where my fiance will be staying when he comes. Right now I am living with my parents but as soon as we get closer to his arrival I am going to get an apt. but for now I think it is smarter to just save some money so I am living with my parents the problem is that my parents are about to sell the house so should I still put our current address since it is where I am living now? It's just that I fell if I put some random address that it would seem like there is no tie between us since my recidence is going to be my parents house. I hope that makes sence since I feel a little confused myself about the question! if you have questions about my question let me know and if you have answers PLEASE let me know!

    have a good one!!

[/quote If they are moving within 2-3weeks. I would delay the sending in forms. However, if it is longer. I would send the I129 form in. When you know your need address fill out a Change of Address form immediately. Usually if you do not have any error on the I129 form in Vermont it usually take about 6-8 months. I started in feb.08 . My interview is Aug.4,2008.

  3. Depending on the consulate, you either send the I-134 to the consulate before the interview or bring it to the interview with you. I'm not sure of the specifics in the DR.

You should take a look in the regional forum for more DR-specific info. The wait for an interview there can be 2+ years.

Hello. Welcome to VJ. I have found this website to be helpful. However, there is a website dedicated solely to people petitioning for Dominican fiance(e) and etc. This will make it a lot easier as you fill out the different forms. check out www.dominicanstotheusa.com My name is Letti. Let me know if you have any further questions. I will be happy to help you. Welcome Again.

  4. Hello,

Can anyone that has filed a K-3 at the VSC for the Dominican Republic share their story. I just received my NO1 for the I-129F and I am very impatient. Thanks.

Hello I am a k-1 Filer. The whole process usually takes at least 6-8 months or longer. I started in Feb.20, 2008 and my cita is Aug. 4, 2008. Good Luck to you. I have joined www.dominicanstotheusa.com. It is an extremely good websites.

  5. You will be fine, just remember to save your documents as well as originals for the interview.

Thank you YMR, do you know if I have to obtain original tax return copies from the IRS? My accountant filed electronically for me, and all of my copies have the image "CLIENT COPY" diagonally across them

That is absolutely fine, you don't have to get anything from the IRS. I just used copies of my actual return that I had made when I filed.

    Hello

I filed in Feb 08. My application has been approved within 30 days. My file is now being sent to the Embassy- Santo Domingo. It has been 2weeks. I am waiting for my Packet 3. But, I will inform you when I receive my packet 3. So, you can get a better idea about the processing time. God Bless.

There is no packet 3 in the DR. You will get a packet for the interview approximately 1 month prior to your interview.

So, when do you pay the visa application fee. Also when do you send the affid. of support info. In the packet, what do I received compare to what does my fiance receive. Did you call for the interview date or did you wait for the packet. I am debating whether to call or not. Thank you so much for the info.

I have finally recieved my cita on Aug. 4. I am so excited!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Is there any one else who has a August cita? Let Me know.

  7. Well, I received a reply email the other day which stated from the NVC that my file was being sent to the Embassy. Then, I went to see if my case number would appear on May appointments website. So, I am praying for a June or July appointment. I would love to have a summer wedding date. My family and I have already started planning for the big day.

  8. Wow! That is super fast! How did that happen? I sure hope mine goes that smooth... I'm going for a spouse visa, though. Those are some good news. Hey, even if it took DOUBLE what yours took, I'd be happy!

I though so, too. However, I received my case number. I called the NVC on April 17th. They have my file but it has not been sent to the embassy yet. I heard it takes 6-8weeks to be send to the Embassy fafter receiving your noa2.

  9. We had our interview on April 7 scheduled at 6:00AM. We arrived at the embassy 4:30AM and the line was already huge!! After about 45 minutes, some embassy workers in yellow shirts came out and started breaking up the line into four lines according to types of visa interviews. It was complete confusion and the first worker told us to get in the wrong line!! After we figured things out and got in the correct line, we finally entered the embassy around 8:30. After about 15 minutes inside, we were called to window 25 to submit our forms and supporting documents. We received a numbered ticket. Another half hour later, we were called to window 13 to get her fingerprints taken. After that, we waited until around 2:45 for the actual interview. We were called to window 21, were the consul agent swore us in in Spanish. He spent several minutes looking over the documents. He read several of our emails. Then he asked me the following questions in English:

CO: How did you meet your fiancee?

Me: Thru an international dating site.

    CO: Were you married before?

    Me: Yes.

CO: When did you first visit her?

    Me: August.

    CO: 2007?

    Me: That's right.

CO: (Looking at my passport) You went to Brazil?

    Me: Yes.

CO: Did you take her with you?

Me: No, that was before we met.

CO: Who do you work for?

    Me: Comcast.

CO: (Looking over telephone records) What is her telephone number?

    Me: 829-***-****

CO: How many times have you been to the Dominican Republic?

Me: For her specifically; four times.

    CO: You visited before?

    Me: Yes, once in 2006.

    CO: What was the purpose?

    Me: Vacation.

And that was it! He didn't ask her anything. After a few more minutes of looking over the documents, he turned to her and said in Spanish, "I'm going to approve the visa. You will receive it within a week to ten days." We thanked him and went to Domex to pay the courier fee.

The visas for her and her daughter arrived 10 days later, and she arrived in the US last night! It still seems unreal. She will go back to get her daughter in August.

Kudos to this website for the invaluable advise and information. Now we are just looking at the adjustment process. At least now we are together.

Congratulation! Question? Do they ask which language you prefer whether english or spanish for the interview?

  10. My family and friends weren't to happy and had nothing good to say about it at first either. I really can't say they are happy now either. They told me I travel to much to see him. I am desperate. How do you know he not cheating on you. He just wants a green card. You are so stupid and naive. You can find a man making millions of dollar yet you go and find a man in a third world country. The list can go on. I believe that they are scared about the unknown factors. They never met him and he speaks about 25% of english. However, since we met in 2006 his english has greatly improved. He feels comfortable speaking english to me. I have told my immediate friends and family about filing for a visa. I don't feel like the other friends and family needs to know yet.(until he enters the U.S.) The most important thing is that we are happy together including my son. I know Yova and I union will be a good example that it's okay to step out of your element. Also good things can blossom when you least expected it. I believe through God all things are possible.

I am so happy for VJ . It has been a support system for me in so many ways.

    I love my Yova. :blink::blush::whistle:

  11. I just got a notice on UCINS. Approval in 43 days!!! You go Vermont Center :)

    Filing: Feb 27, 08

    NOA1: March 02,08

    NOA2 (Approved): March 21st, 08!!

    Interview date: ???

We're soo excited!!!! this process was soo much faster than I expected!

    J

    Congrats to you.

I am a Feb 2008 filer as well. Yova and I was also approved on March 20, 2008. We are soooooooooo excited, too. However, the waiting period is still not over yet. But, every approval or response letter is bring me closer to my love one.

  13. I'm sitting here 6 months after my case was filed waiting for my I129F portion to be approved so I can get on with my K3 visa, (which is supposed to be the faster Visa). I waited until my receipt date was current and then decided to call and see what was going on with my case. On the online status it still says it's being processed. On the phone it still says it's being processed. So I decided I would try to talk to a PERSON instead of that damn machine.

The first lady said it was cancelled and that they sent the other portion to the NVC and that I should call them. I called the NVC and they said they don't have anythign to do with whether it goes through as a K3 or CR1. They just process what they get and that I should call USCIS back and pick my bone with them. So I did. I got the most incompetent lady EVER. She kept putting me on hold before she even asked for my receipt number. I had to keep repeating myself over and over and I am a very articulate person (if I do say so myself!! and I do say so!). She didn't even know what an I129F was... All I could do was roll my eyes and think to myself where the hell they found her. So after she put me on hold again, she comes back reading me some email she supposedly got saying that as of July 31 or something like that, they are cancelling all I129Fs that are sent in as K3 and processing the I130 only.

IS THAT ALLOWED? Mind you I have received NO notification of this whatsoever! I said to her does she realize that this is going to slow my case down. She got all snooty with me and told me that there was nothing else she could do...which i'm sure there isn't but she didn't have to be all snooty about it. LOL

Anyway, HOW THE HELL CAN THEY CANCEL PART OF YOUR PETITION WITHOUT NOTICE and give you the slower visa? HAs this happened to anyone else?

Sorry for the long post, I tend to be a bit long winded when I'm pissed! :)

    Thanks everyone!

    K-1 Visa

I hear that D.R. resently(in 2008) change some of their workers. Due to that the processing of visa time period should be a 6-8 month waiting period. I started my process in Feb.2008. My I129f was approved on March 20. Which seem quicker than other who file Feb. 2007.
