  1. Just to fill you guys in...I spoke to the USCIS office today because my case was transferred to CSC 3 months ago and they basically told me now the wait is 6 months, not 3.

Along with this they also gave me this piece of info. When your case is transferred to CSC this does not mean they are looking at anything about your file in California. In fact they transfer your file BACK to your local office and get approved from there. So it's actually your local office that decides whether you get an interview or not.

People using the West Palm Beach office: they informed me that they are only now processing CSC transfers from Dec. of 2009. So it looks like I have to call back in a month, month and a half and hope they are looking at the end of Jan. 2010 files at that time.

So why bother telling us that a transfer to CSC almost always means no interview when in reality they just transfer your case back to your local office anyway. What's the point of transferring it to begin with?

  3. Just wondering if anyone knows what is going on at the CSC offices with AOS applications? I had my case transferred a month ago and no word since then. Now I am seeing posts from people transferred after me and they are getting their green cards in hand or emails stating they are in production. I haven't even gotten a touch or anything since they transferred me. Are they just having a slow period or what?

  4. Wiscan....the worst part is is that I had to kind of agree with the CS's office. The I-693 clearly states where the CS has to sign that they are signing off on the WHOLE medical. That's why every doctors office down here in South Florida that I have called refused to do it without doing the whole process over. What pisses me off the most is that USCIS on the phone today at the doctors office told them to redo the whole medical. Even though I had their info printed off their website about the K-1 visas. NIGHTMARE>

  5. This is all such a scam. I went to a civil surgeon today after calling more that 50 within 30 miles of my home and was forced to do a new medical. They would not just sign off on just the vaccination transcription because if you actually read the I-693 where the CS signs off on your medical it states they are signing off on the exam which they wouldn't have to give me because I ALREADY did one originally.. Absolutely ridiculous! I am so angry right now its unreal. The even called immigration for me from the doctors office and USCIS told them to get a whole new medical for me. Meanwhile they have my medical on file.

This whole process is a load of garbage. Contradictions left right and center....no agency talks to each other and the civil surgeons don't talk to the USCIS about getting the rules straight. Everyone needs to get their sh*t in check and revamp the whole system. It seems like any Tom, ####### or Harry can just walk into this country and stay here with minimal problems but those of us that do it the proper legal way get raped by the system.

300$ more dollars down the drain but just to get this the hell over with I'm more than willing to just pay it and finish this absurd process.

  6. AMAZING! So non-immigration people are rummaging through our papers and deciding our fate.....sounds like they REALLY know what they are doing....

Oh and NIK....I did call my state representative....I sent in the forms today to open an inquiry for USCIS to actually LOOK for my medical...just to cover my butt in case they don't accept my I-693 that I send them Tuesday.

Is it true that there are special operators to deal with congressional inquiries when calling USCIS? I ask because let's say they look at my new I-693 and decide to deny me....I assume that the inquiry will be started next week by the Congressman's office so would that give me a buffer to not be denied or change that decision?

  7. Just spoke to someone else at USCIS and she said exactly this: highlight the part that your medical is valid for one year and just submit the I-693 part 1, some of part 2 and part 5. She said that should be enough. If there is some other problem and my medical from Montreal is "lost" she said then we can open a file and call the NVC and they will have a copy of it to re-send to the AOS people handling the case.

I'm going to do that and let you guys know how it goes.

  8. I just spoke to a Civil Surgeon and they are willing to do the transcription for 65$. They said if I need any other vaccines (i know I don't), then they will give them to me there and I just have to wait and they will give me the I-693 within 30 minutes of them looking over everything and transcribing it.

As for the letter I'll be writing, I plan to be polite. Being snippy will get you NOWHERE. I am going to let them know that the Conulate in MOntreal took my sealed medical envelope and it should be with those original documents. I will resend my DS-2035 ALONG with the new I-693.

And I will totally look into contacting a state representative. :) Thanks for the advice

  9. I had read somewhere here in another post about sometimes the case workers don't look at your A-file which would contain the medical exam results. I plan on including that in my letter to them.

The RFE states- You have indicated that you last entered the U.S. on a k-1 visa. Please submit a properly completed and signed copy of the medical exam conducted overseas on form DS-2053......

If you do not have a completed DS-2035 please submit a properly and completed form I-693........

They have my medical and i really do not feel like I should pay for a new one. Also, I sent them my completed DS-2053 so that is also ridiculous. I am fine going to the civil surgeon but seriously, alot of them are just trying to rob you of your money by trying to tell you you need the physical all over again. So far only one civil surgeon in my area will do the vaccination supplemental for 100$ which is still absurd if you ask me

  10. So I just received 2 RFE's in the mail yesterday and I am pretty angry about it.

The first RFE is about lack of financial statements. I find this hilarious because I sent THREE YEARS worth of tax papers for my husband and father in law. Specifically it says that we need to tax papers for my husbands self employment. Well I checked my copies of everything I sent them and what do I find? All the tax forms for the years including the special schedules they use for self employed people. So basically I now know that they don't look at everything you send them.

They MUST skip over things because they HAVE these documents. I spoke to USCIS and they said to write a polite later stating where in the original package it would be and to let them know they have it but to send other copies anyway just to be on the safe side. Which I plan on doing just to get rid of that problem.

The second RFE is about my medical. The way that the letter is phrased makes it seem like they want me to do a full medical over again which isn't going to happen as its only been 6 months that I had mine done in Montreal and its still very valid. So I asked the USCIS guy about that and he said, OH NO! do not redo your medical exam...just do the I-693 part 1, some of part 2 and part 5 only. He also said to once again write a polite letter when sending it all in stating that your medical was done in Montreal on such a date and you are not required to have another if it falls within the year and that's it.

It's all a pain in my butt and seriously, some of these workers looking at our cases need to wake up and stop being lazy or absentminded or just plain stupid. We are paying an arm and a leg to send them this stuff and going through hell to be married and then they can't even look through files thoroughly and properly. Either way, I'm calling more civil surgeons today so hopefully I'll find someone reasonable. I also have my biometris appt. this coming Tuesday.....

  11. Thanks for all your responses guys. I think I am going to risk it and send in the papers from Montreal. Worst case: I get an RFE.....and if it does go through without a hitch and then we don't get transferred to California, then I'll pay the fee then and get it all transcribed before the interview (if they ask for an interview).

At least sending it in as is gives me some time to also speak to my father in law who is a doctor and see if he can find me a cheaper civil surgeon. :)
