I am getting alot of pm's on Mhay's interview! Anyway here is what happened she went there and the US interview guy was really nice to her and friendly. They had issue with her divorce decree from her previous marriage, She was married before to an american and he divorced her in Oregon. Well on the embassy website and the philippine family code law if a foreigner secures a divorce of a filipino marriage that should be recognized by the philippines......But she still has to file it with the NSO office which we didnt do. So we got a lawyer and what not to get her the cenomar, the right way. It should take about 6 weeks where she lives, but she doesnt have to redo the medical or the interview she basically got apporoved pending cenomar......She said that the filipinos at the embassy consulte were kind of "a-holes" to her like she was waiting for the paperwork and they had a party while she waiting. The american guy who did her interview had to yell at them.

Anyway so its just another 6 weeks or so from now...so I guess we are just immune to waiting now but its ok....Coming here in August is probably better climate adjustment for her anyway!

We have the embassy interview and I was reading about the I-864.....Am I suppose to mail this Support thing in or can she bring it with her?

You know me and mhay been reading this forum for a year or so now...And for some reason it never dawned on us to pay attention to the changes...So it took like 6 weeks for "admin processing" at the NVC which was fun since when i got NOA2 we were all excited that it was going to be soon....So March 24th NVC sends it to manila and we been waiting and waiting so then I was like well lets just call but we both thought we were suppose to wait for some "packet" so I call and set her up an appointment and everything right over the phone like that....So the not paying attention to the details and just thinking we knew everything costed us about 3 extra weeks....So that was our "Admin Processing" i guess.

The embassy in manila doesn't schedule your interview usually, you call them up and schedule it yourself, or at least that's how most of us did it. Once they have your petition entered into their system (about a week after it leaves NVC normally) they can setup an interview date, all you have to do is call up the embassy, buy a PIN for $18 and then schedule it.

Ok when I call I call the non-immigrant visa or the immigrant ?

There is this link on the Manila Embassy website to check your interview date...Does that work?

The NVC is FINALLY done with there oh so important "Additional Processing of Mystery"....Wooohoooo About how long should Mhay expect her package...She would ask herself but back in January when we got NOA2 she didnt renew her internet service cause she thought she was out of there but well here we are almost april...But we have both become pretty bad #### on texting stuff so all in all not a total loss

Yes it was very funny....Humour during these things are very important.

Me and Mhay are in the "Additional Processing" penalty box. I am thinking that my former life as the guy who sold A-rod the roids an and her former life as Mhay the Filipina super spy has slowed down are process. This is almost as ridiculous as when I call NVC it goes like this:

Me: I am checking on my case.

NVC: whats the number

Me: MNL$$$$$$$

NVC: Ok how can I help you? (This is a silly question cause she knows why I am calling it says right on her screen.)

Me: I want to see if my claim has been sent to Manila yet.

NVC: No Sir not yet........(Silence like I am waiting for her to tell me something else and she thinks her No is good enough)

Me: Ok Why not

NVC: Its going under additional processing.....(Thats all she says which is funny cause I bet she says that everytime someone calls)

Me: Whats that? (I know they dont know but its always fun to listen to them explain)

NVC: Well sometimes they just need to do some additional things in the process.

Me: Like what?

NVC: Something else they want to look at

Me: Like what? Maybe I can help?

NVC: No Sir it should be forwarded shortly if not we will contact you.

Me: So what your saying is you dont know whats going on just I am in Additional Processing

NVC: Yes

Me: And Additional Processing is Processing that is additional.

NVC: You can call back to see if its been processed tomorrow.

Me: Can i talk to you?

NVC: Well no sir anyone can help you.

Me: Does someone else know what additional processing is besides processing that is additional.

NVC: No sir they probably wont have any information other then the status.

Me: Probably wont or wont? cause it seems to me that this "additional processing" thing is a pretty big time thing...I mean it seems to take a 3 day process and make it a 3 week process, if I was working there I would know what "Additional processing" was.

NVC: Well we are not allow to give the specifics.

Me: So its a secret.

NVC: (Laughs)

Me: I say ok I will call back later.

NVC: Is there anything else I could help you with....

Me: Yeah the first thing I asked you about. but ok bye!

I call them every couple hours its a fun game they are still being pretty nice though. I get the feeling they think its silly about as much as I do.

I called USCIS a couple times with address changes and stuff.....They were not too bad to talk to I guess. I have called NVC a couple times already and they are much friendlier.

for those that are still waiting, you should just call USCIS everyday and speak to a supervisor, yes they will give the same answer but maybe someone will actually do something!!

That is the one thing I don't have... We have known each other since late 2006 and finally met on April 2008, however, the whole topic of marriage and spending the rest of our lives together didn't come up until my visit with him. When I was there we spent all of our time alone together and seeing the sites, not once did we think.. gee we better get some proof for the K1 process.. We filed for the K1 about 4 months after I left and upon reading about what we need and looking at the things I have, the picture of the two of us together are not one of them.. providing I have all my ducks in a row and have proof of an on going relationship... will this affect their final decision at the interview?

I am surprised you didnt get an RFE for that but it might be a problem in the interview...but maybe they arent as strict on the photo evidence since your in Canada and its close. Do you have like pictures of him you took and pictures of you he took at like the same spot.....But then again reading what some people say here the interviewer didnt look at the pictures.

Hi everyone, I too am an August filer, stuck in security checks, stepping ever closer to complete breakdown with each passing day!!! I'm so happy for everyone who's got their NOA2s but it's also a kick in the teeth to see peopple who filed after us getting ready for interviews. I feel like I'm just sitting wishing my life away because all I care about is getting this visa and there is no way to plan anything until we get some news but it never comes!!!! My fiance and I are currently looking at booking flights so we can meet up for a week in Mexico, it's so expensive and it means spending the money we'd put aside for the wedding but we're just fighting for our sanity at this point!!

I never quite get what security checks they could be doing that would delay everything so much....Before you met your fiancee where you IRA or something?

Its funny that this board has gone from What the heck is taking VSC so long to What size luggage is allowed! You do have to appreciate VSC and CSC's randomness. I mean you know it would make sense to just do the K-1 visa's in the order they were received, but then where is the originality in that. It makes much more sense to do approvals in completely random order with no rhyme or reason to the madness. It is even smarter of them to be like the last agency in the goverment to still use 30 pages of paperwork vice electronic scans. Way to dam the man and keep it old school Immigration Department!
