Hi all
I'm going to be with my fiancee during her interview, I was wondering how long can I be by her side throughout the entire process? So for instance we get to the embassy and 6:30am and are completely done with the process by 12:30pm. Out of those 6 hours will I get to be by her side 30 mintues until the gates open, 4 hours, 5.5 hours, just looking for a guesstimate. Also any chance I can be in the interview with her if needed by interviewer? Thanks so very much in advance for any help
This is such a great forum, found the embassy review section and looks like we'll be able to stay close all day during this intense, stressful process.

So we emailed our packet3 to the embassy Thursday morning (3/17) they haven't posted the april interview dates yet, so I hope we made the cut off. Anyone know if there is a delay between the embassy cutoff and the posting of the schedule?

Congratz!!! Wishing you two the best of luck and happy beautiful marriage.

in Colombia we don't have Province, in our case is called Department (state in USA), so you have to put Atlantico, and in the city/tow box: Barranquilla
Thanks!!! I didn't want to mess anything up now at this stage
-
Should I just put the department... Atlántico? OK to just leave blank?
-
I'm filling out the ds-230 for our K1, it asks for Province for place of birth and such, She was born in Barranquilla, is there a province I should put down from Barranquilla? Thanks in advance.

It all depends on when they receive your documents. If it's right after March 15th, you have some chance of getting an April interview. If they receive them during the last week of March then you'll get an early May interview at the latest.
Diana
Good news
-
maybe yes, maybe not. Seeing your timeline if you send the package 3 next week, is possible you get the interview in late April, don't lose the hope
Thanks Yakad, once again you've helped ease this journey

Hi, I was hoping to have our K1 visa interview in April, but I've read that if the Bogota Embassy doesn't recieve Packet3 by 3/15 we won't get an April interview but a May one instead ... is that really the case? Thanks in advance

Thank you all for the responses

IT IS ONKY ALLOWED IN BOGOTA. THERE ARE ONLY TWO DOCTORS AND I RECOMMEND DR. ROA. YOUR FIANCEE HAS TO TAKE THE BLOOD TESTS FIRST AND THEN SHE HAS TO GO TO THE MEDICAL EXAMINATION.
GOOD LUCK!!!
FEY
Ah thanks, blood test also in Bogota?
-
Is the medical exam for the K1 visa only allowed in Bogota, or is it available in other city, specificly Barranquilla, anyone know?
Thanks in advance

just to clarify, the police certificate is obtained from the DAS on the same day that you ask for it. the DAS immigration certificate can take 6 bussiness day, these documents can be gotten at any DAS office of the country.
Woot! Good news, thx!!
-
You can get that documents in any of the main cities of Colombia. Ej: Cali, Medellin, Pereira, Barranquilla, Cartagena, the list goes on.
One tip. This document may take up to 3 weeks to get, I have hear that in Bogota you can get it same day or next day but you better have it ready before you go to Bogota.
When is your interview?
Thanks for the info!! The interview isn't set yet, the petition is still in NVC, just doing the leg work now though so not to wait until the last minute

Hi,
Does anyone know about DAS CERTIFICATE (info below), my fiancée has never traveled outside colombia, but will require this for our K1 visa interview according to packet3, she doesn't live in Bogota and seems like the only place to get this certificate is in bogota, is it possible to get it a day or two prior to interview while in bogota? Perhaps there is a way she can get it from barranquilla in advance, thanks in advance for any help
DAS CERTIFICATE – Entries and exits to and from Colombia for the past 10 years. This document may be obtained in Bogotá at the DAS Office located at Calle 100 #11B-27, Edificio Platinium.
