  1. I think you may be mixing up the travel ban countries with the immigrant visa pause countries. Many countries on the immigrant visa issuance pause (such as Pakistan where my spouse is from) are still free to travel to the US on a non-immigrant visa. The immigrant visa issuance pause is however indefinite, the cited reason being a high number of immigrants becoming a public charge from these countries.
  2. My point is should one incur the expense and inconvenience of a medical when there is a very realistic possibility that the IV pause won't be lifted in the next 6 months. Further, if pause is lifted after say 5 months after medical, the IV would be issued for just a one-month validity which may be another problem.
  3. There are 75 or more countries under the pause. Which translate to a lot of paused applicants whose interviews are still being scheduled and conducted. Why isn't there more information on this forum as to how the medicals are being handled by various missions. Medicals are valid for only 6 months.
  4. I am in complete agreement on that. And she doesn't have dual citizenship. My concern is that Abu Dhabi seems to have a two-step process. On the first visit they just do biometrics and check if all required documents are complete and then they schedule the actual " interview" date a week later. So will they give her the second date without a medical exam?
  5. My spouse is from a country under an indefinite immigrant visa pause that was ordered by Trump earlier this year. But her IV interview is scheduled at Abu Dhabi. Is there any point doing the medical exam before the interview given that the result will most likely expire before the immigrant visa is issued? Seems that it would be best to wait till after the application is otherwise accepted as complete and pending the medical once the IV visa issuance pause is lifted.
  6. So how long is the wait at Abu Dhabi now after DQ (Feb 25), category is IR1?
  7. Our case got DQ at NVC on March 4, 2025. However, I have found that the wait for interview at Abu Dhabi Embassy is currently 18 months. So, 17 months for I- 130 approval and to get DQ, now another 18 months for interview, so total process for immediate relatives is at least 3 years. Of course, the time scenario could change further with Trump travel bans and his other immigration policies.
  8. So, it means the total IR1 process through Abu Dhabi is taking more than 3 years as I-130 approval and getting DQ took almost 17 months. Now another 12 to 18 months to go.
  9. I have mentioned in my thread subject that visa category is IR1. What else to I need to provide?
  10. I am unable to find IV processing times online for Abu Dhabi. Does anyone know the estimated wait time for interview after DQ on March 4, 2025?
  11. Received NVC email today (interestingly over the weekend) after approval on Feb 11. So, NVC email is currently taking less than a week.
  12. I am the OP for this Oct 2023 thread. I filed Oct 8, 2023. Just received approval today Feb 11, 2025. Both NOA1 and NOA2 came from Texas where I am a resident. So, 16 months so far. FWIW my estimate still says 12 months. So ignore that.
  13. Speaking of USCIS estimates mine is saying 12 months, exactly 16 months after I filed. When I first filed the petition brand new, the estimate said just four months.
  14. It's taking more than 15 months as after that much time has now elapsed since my application my estimate is now saying another 6 months. I realize approvals may come within next 1-2 months. But that means it is like taking 16-17 months just for I- 130 approval. So total process to complete an immediate relative case is well excess of 2 years and even over 3 years if dealing with certain backlogged embassies/consulates.
  15. Filed Oct 8, 2023. Under active review since Oct 18, 2023. Estimate says another 6 months which we know means nothing. Bottom line, it is taking over a year just for I-130
  16. I filed October 8th, 2023, my estimate is saying another 9 months
  17. Agree about time estimate. When I filed last October 2023 it said 4 months which went down to "taking longer than expected". Now 9 months after filing it estimates another 9 months.
  18. I started this thread after filing on Oct 8, 2023, and have been under active review since October 18. The initial four months processing time estimate passed and now it is "taking longer than expected."
  19. I 130 filed and NOA October 8, 2023
