Thank you very much for the reply.

Does it mean we can wait for AOS until I finish all the vaccines done

    which will be next year?

On this site, it says you should file as soon as possible before K-1 expires

or you'll be considered out-of-status until you file so we don't wanna risk anything.

I need to submit the vaccination supplement when we file. Is that right?

    Or maybe I'm misunderstanding??

    Thank you.

  2. I'll be leaving Japan for the U.S. on K-1 visa in 3 weeks.

And about a month ago, I got a letter from the hospital that I had my medical check at

and it says that I need to have Human papillomavirus vaccine.

I have to have 3 times, the first injection is followed by a second and third dose two and six months later.

I have contacted a few hospitals here and they all said the vaccine isn't avaliable in Japan yet.

Since I cannot have the vaccine done here, I have to have it finished when I get to the U.S.

The problem is that it takes 6 months to complete all 3 shots

but I have to apply for AOS before my K-1 expires and I have to have all the vaccine completed when I do so.

I'm just wondering if I could have a waiver.

If so, how can I get a waiver?

    Thank you.

  3. I have posted the same thing but it's been moved somehow

and I have a feeling I won't get replies so I'll post again.

    This is the old post.

Thank you to people who have answered on the old post.

I've read so many times on VJ about this but can't really get it

and I don't wanna misunderstand so I wanna ask to make sure.

I was thinking about getting it finished in the U.S after entering

since there is no requirement that I meet the vaccination requirement at the time of the visa interview.

If I understood correctly, I need to have it done when we apply for an adjustment the status?

I'm thinking(hoping) about going to the U.S in August which means I'll have to get married by November.

I'm guessing my last one will be in December.

Would it be risky to finish in the U.S or is it better I'd have it done in Japan?

Do I need to have it done before we file for an adjustment of status?

I'm so worried that I won't be able to get it done before K-1 expires

so thinking that it'd be better to finish in Japan.

I got confused when I was writing this but hope you understand

    Thank you :)

    Thank you :)

Japan gov hasn't appoved HPV yet so I guess I need to have in the U.S.

But I'm so worried that I won't be able to have all done before we have to apply for an adjustment

which will be after getting married and before K-1 expires?

    I think I'm misunderstanding?

I thought I need to have all done when we file which will be just after getting married?

  6. Last night I found my income tax return. My mom had it. And also last night, I thought more throughly and realized maybe I do have some assets. I have my pc, tv, digital camera, guitar and amp, and a dvd collection. I'd guess these are worth about $2,175 which is 25% less than what I actually payed for them. Would these things work as assets?

  7. Hi! My Japanese fiancee just had her medical check about 2 weeks ago. And I've been trying to get the I-134 things ready. I'm going to get a statement from the bank, I hope this week, and have my boss write a statement of employment. I also have 4 of my most recent check stubs. Is there any other proof I need? I know I should have prepared these things a bit sooner :( Also, I'm $220 dollars short of making the required 125% of the 2008 Poverty Guidelines, which is $17,500. I don't have enough assets to make up the differene, so I'm gonna ask my dad to be a co-sponser. I know he will need to fill out a I-134 also, so does he need the exact same proof of income as me? And would the poverty guidelines he has to follow be for just him, my mom and my fiancee? I apologize for so many questions, but I just want everything to go smoothly. Any help is greatly appriciated.

  8. Hello everyone! My fiancee is usually the one who posts here, but I thought I would today. Anway, she lives in Japan, and we are trying to get a K-1 visa. Our NOA2 letter arrived last month, and now, I'm preparing all the financial support info to send. She'll go have her medical check next week, and then prepare for the injections she needs. She wants to finish all of her injections before coming to the U.S. but since the Hepatitis A and B injections take 6 months to complete, we are concerned if we need to file for an extention. On the example extention letter, it say this...

"It is my understanding that pursuant to 9FAM 41.81 N3.1 (Period of validity), the consulate can extend the approval notice for another 4 months, if my fiancé and I remain legally free to marry and continue to plan to marry after my fiancé enters the United States."

My question is this, how do I find the Period of validity? And how would I write that on the extenstion letter?

I apologize for such a long post, but any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

  9. Extention Letter

We're getting ready to request for an extention of NOA2

and using the example form in this site

    But we aren't sure about how to write on;

    ・Vital data

    ・Period of Validity

    AOS local office

We still haven't got the visa

but we're so worried about local office when we do AOS.

My fiance lives in Eastern Tennessee,

and we're wondering if Memphis, TN is the only office we could go to for the interview.

Is it possible to go to some other offices in different states?

And how many times do we need to visit the office?

Thank you for answering in advance :)

You don't need to send a letter to extend the validity of an approved I-130 or I-129F. The Consular Officers do it routinely as needed.

You'll probably have two visits to USCIS office(s) during the AOS process. The case will be assigned to the one that covers the district in which you live. This may or may not be in the same State. Not all USCIS offices do these interviews, so it is possible your first visit for biometrics will be at a smaller and closer office. Ours was.

    Thank you so much!!!

Then I don't understand why the letter I got from them says; I can extend if needed.....

Ah, I'm so relieved to hear about AOS offices.

    Thank you again :)

Please provide the details of any letter you received. Since you have no timeline, I'm not certain it isn't something different. Then, please fill in your profile and timeline to help us help you and to add to the data used to predict the timelines of others.

    I got a Packet, which I think it's called Packet 3,

and in that packet, there was visa intrsuctions

and it explained about 'Validity of the approved I-129F petition'.

Therefore, we get that as we need to extend by requesting them.

Could you please explain how you meant; 'Since you have no timeline'?

What would you like to about our timeline/profile?

    Thank you so much!!! :)
