kaya siguro sila online parati sa ym kase bz sila chatting with their families and closed friends sa PI. i know some people na ganyan din. i got disappointed at first but now i just ignore them kase may sarili na din akong buhay and i'd rather talk with people na pinapahalagahan yung friendship na inoofer ko kase sa mga tao na binabalewala ako.

I used to like Vallejo, CA when I first got here because of the many Filipino establishments but now my husband and I are thinking of moving somewhere else. You probably heard that Vallejo filed bankcruptcy and that tremendously affected the service you get from the city government especially the police. The crime rate is growing and the city government is planning to lay off more policemen before the year ends. I do like California though and if ever we move somewhere else it will be a city close to Vallejo like Benicia so that we can still go to Island Pacific every weekends. You won't really feel that much homesick when you are in Vallejo because almost everything from PI is here but I just hope that one day Vallejo will be a safer place to live in.

Oh to be fair to someone's comment about "marry a filipina or filipino who is 25 years old or above" earlier. In the philippines, the age considered by law as the rightful age to marry is 25 years old. Before that, one needs parents' consent. It is so as there is no divorce in the Philippines. If we get married outside of our country, we are required to report our marriage to the Philippines embassy or consulate. Although i dont think age matters, emotional and mental maturity and readiness to commit to marraige is more important..... but those "usually" comes with age.

tallcoolone: And oh theres nothing with working in Walmart or any grocery store. Its a good decent paying job. I dont know about your wife finding any job she wants considering the economy right now.... not that i belittle your wife... i hope her the best as a fellow filipina. Its just that your claims are unfounded. She is under 25 years old. She isnt a lawyer or a doctor. Its likely that she finished college... prolly a 2 year masters degree (hmm?!). Im sure you do know that she has to go to an accreditation office in here to gauge her college credits on how much that diploma is worth in the US. But even so, she just lacks the years of necessary experience.

Let me correct you some:

Age 18 - 21 needs Parental Consent, 22 to 24 needs Parental Advisement - If I remember correctly.

Being a Lawyer or Doctor and coming to USA doesn't do you much good in USA. You basically go back to sqaure 1 with those degrees in USA.

Accreditation Office - Are you trying say to get her College Transcripts Evaluated to see if her degree in PI is comparable to same degree in USA, if so That was taken care of when she was still in PI, I had it evaluted by CGNFS before she ever stepped foot on US Soil.

I agree there is nothing wrong with working Wal Mart or Grocery Store, But for me and my personal goals it doesn't fall into what I am looking for in a lifetime partner......

What if your wife came from a poor family and she is not a RN will you still marry her? I have no right to question your relationship with your wife but I really hope that you married her because you truly love her.

just an update, i had my interview last april 16, i was approved and today i received the welcome to USA letter.

I dont get it why i never got my greencard..I am absolutely frustrated now...I dont know how long it takes before i get it or what and why??

I filled my AOS october 2008 and i had my biometrics on oct 29..unfortunately i had to re take finger print for my AOS so i did it on nov 14..I received my noticed mail regarding on my EAD last dec 23 together with a notice for an interview schedule and finally i got my EAD dec 26..My interview was january 22, this year ..i was wondering why i never got any notice from them since my interview..at first I called them 6 weeks after my interview they only said that i have to wait coz my filling is on the normal processing..but i wait so long so my husband called them back 3 weeks ago, the one who entertained us said that they never decision yet regarding on my case and we have to wait for 48 days and if we never received any mail from them we have to call them back again..so disappointed i left hanging answer..I dont know if there is problem and why they dont have decision yet..it makes me crazy wondering why and what is wrong..I am beyond already of the normal process..

I hope i will find any answers here..

i met my then fiance through my cousin and i did not have any problem at all. the CO asked me how i met my fiance then i told her that my cousin introduced us. then after that she did not have any follow up question. my interview lasted less than 2 mins. i believe that every cases are handled differently so it doesn't necessarily follow that if you met your fiance through relatives or friend then you might be taken to the fraud unit. just be confident and consistent with your answer.

i've been reading this "bangayan" for a while. i find it entertaining at first pero minsan sumosobra na din kase parang below the belt na yung mga palitan nila ng salita. nakakamiss din yung dati na pag pupunta ka sa philippine forum walang mga away at payabangan kang mababasa kundi yung mga topics puros lang sa immigration process. ayoko na sanang magcomment pero nakakalungkot lang na halos ganito na lang mababasa mo parati. sana magfocus na lang tayo sa immigration or mga encouraging topics hindi yung payabangan or pagcriticize ng grammar ng iba or kung ano pa. better yet let's just focus on our own lives. kung gustong mang-inis ni tallcoolone pabayaan na lang natin sya kase malamang baka pinagtatawanan lang nya tayo pag nagrereact tayo sa mga sinasabi nya. isa din ako sa mga nagrereact sa mga comments nya before pero eventually naisip ko baka nga ang purpose nya is mang-inis lang talaga. magfocus na lang tayo sa mga sarili nating buhay. kung gustong magyabang ng mga iba hayaan na lang natin sila. in the end hindi naman tayo ijujudge ni God based kung anong natapos natin or trabaho natin and kahit RN ka pa or housekeeper it doesn't really matter. ang importante may dangal ka, takot sa Dyos and wala kang inaapakang na ibang tao. we may have the best husband/wife or best job in the world but we should always remember to keep our feet on the ground. all that we have belongs to God and anytime pwede Nyang kunin lahat yun. We're not expecting an interview since we were transferred to CSC. Who knows what they're doing out there.

I was referring to those whose cases were not transferred to CSC. i did not receive any RFE and I have the same local office as the girl who filed in January but now have an interview date so I really don't know what's going on. i know that every cases are handled differently but it sucks when you have to wait this long and see other people who filed way after you get their greencards but oh well.....

are there people who are still waiting for their interview dates? i'm starting to worry about my case because i saw a post from a girl who has the same local office as mine and she filed late january and now she received her interview letter. she is also adjusting from K1. i really don't understand what's going on. i know that cases are handled differently but it's frustrating when people who filed 2 mos. after you have already interview dates. i would understand if we're from a different local office. i feel so unlucky with these immigration stuffs. during my K1 days lots of ppl who filed after me have been approved while my case is still pending. i'm thankful though that i have an EAD already and that I have a job now but hey i also want my greencard.

where is your local office? you are so lucky it went fast for you. sa akin ka pa nagtanong nun about sa CS d ba. i filed in Nov and until now wala pa ding result yung akin so i guess i have to call them kase baka pareho lang tayo ng local office. ako sa sacramento din. Good luck!

I was wondering if anyone knows what my fiance has to do to get a drivers license in Calif ? We are getting married Monday. She arrived on Dec. 23rd. We just came from the DMV and were turned down. She already has a SS#. I have looked through the DMV web site and there is nothing noted about validity along with the I94, the guy said she had to have approved Adjustment of Status before she can get a drivers license ?

her I-94 is about to expire that's why you were turned down. wait til she gets her EAD then go back to DMV and show that as a proof of legal presence however you might have to wait for over a month til she gets her license because they still need to verify that document. i originally applied for ID last Nov and they accepted my application but they put it on hold because my 1-94 is valid for 90 days only. I went to DMV again when I got my EAD card.....that was last Jan. 28 and until now I still don't have my ID. I went the other day to follow up the status and they told me that it's pending due to verification of my legal presence but they gave me the # of the legal presence verification department in sacramento so yesterday I have been bugging them about my id but unfortunately they couldn't read the document that I faxed them so I have to call them again next week.
