    I need help-Infopass appt/travel abroad

    Hey VJ guys ..It has been long time I have been here on VJ.Good to see you all back on IJ(immigration journey).Here is my wife situation.We have filed for I-751 on september 16, 2010 at VSC and early biometrics taken on 12.10.10.Since then we have been waiting for GC and havenot heard since then .But My wife is planning a trip to india some time in march for 3-4 months and we are in the process of buying tickets.

    But we got stuck with this process.Here are my concerns and questions:

    1. we all know that she can travel with her extension letter but if they ask for interview or other after she leaves trip?? what should we do? Come back ? (most expensive)Does she need any kind of stamp on her passport(from infopass) before she leaves?

    2. Secondly I tried to make infopass appt online for follow up on I751 and to discuss travel options but it has too many options .It says that we must bring service request number (? from customer service) ??How do i get that

    Can any one detail how to make infopass appt chosing right options.

    Any suggestions or ideas are well appreciated ...Please add me to September filers list. :)

    Hey guys

    Most of you guys donot know me , I was a regular member of this thread until my wife got here through IR-1/CR-1 visa.She received her greencard in 11/2008.we have been married for 2 1/2 years.The question when can I remove conditions on her green card? when can i apply for this? if so how?

    For citizenship does this period count?? We wish you all good luck getting your spouses ASAP!!!!!!! :thumbs:

    Hmm, I think I need to ask my hubby to call the court house.. We never received that copy until now.. Is it normal? or it depends on the states or county? We got married in OK..

    You should of received the original cert. from the court when it was recorded like I mentioned 2 or 3 weeks after you married. Just make sure he sent a recorded copy to USCIS.

    Yes, we received our original cert and 2 legalized copies right away after the marriage.. I don't have any idea what is recorded copy since we've never received it.. I hope USCIS won't send a RFE.. (keep my finger crossed) and I'll still ask my hubby to call the court just to make sure about that.. thanks Paris :)

    A recorded copy is your original marriage cert that was given to the court house so it made it official, that your married. On the back of your marriage license you will see the words Filed with a date and a time usually a week after your marriage date.. If you got your original back from court house, your fine then. I promise.

    Paris, I looked at my marriage cert and just realized about that :D:D On the front page there are words: "License returned, and certificate of marriage recorded subjoining the record of license issued and recorded in marriage book xxx at page xxx, on this the 16 day of January, 2009. "

    So, I don't need to be worry since I sent a copy of that cert.. :star:

    Good girl!!! And I went home at lunch to get my cell phone that I forgot this morning, and in mailbox was my NOA 1 andd like I said its at the CSC.

    How lucky could I be. :dance:

    some of yal may know me, as i was part of VJ for a long time!

    but guess what!! my husband finally got his visa.. it was one painful and long year!!!

    we were issued a 221 g at time of interview, and were told to wait 4-6 weeks for AP! but we waited 5 months!

    its over and hes finally coming home to be with me!!! inshallah!!

    never lose hope.. you will get the visa!!!!

    SSN--Who to call?

    I am just coming back from SS office and they said that they don't have any record of my SSN.

    Lady out there put my Alien Registration number on her computer and it didn't show up anything. I am in US for around 24 days now. She asked me to call immigration, but I am not sure who to call.

    Do I need to call up DOS or USCIS? If anyone can give me the number to call I will much appreciate.

    I haven't yet received my welcome letter either

    Just apply for SSN at nearest office,take your passport with VISA stamp.&you donot need to call anyone ..

    we went to SSN office on 12/09/08 with filled application BUT they told her that SSN has been already assigned for her.she received SSN on 12/16/08.

    Interview experience and port of entry

    Hey guys ...Sorry for the delay posting her interview experience

    I came to US along with my wife on 11/29/08.Here is her interview experience at chennai, India which took place on 11/18/08

    Infact I went to india to accompany her during her interview process after getting permission from consulate.But guess what happened I did most of her interview and got her visa.They asked me instead of asking her..

    7.45 am entry to visa lobby

    8.30 AM An indian CO looked all documents that we submitted earlier asked few questions.

    1) whether its first marriage for both of us?

    2) when did marriage took place?

    3) asked for some wedding photos.

    4) she asked for 2007 tax papers and w2 form

    9.00 am

    An american CO did second interview..He looked at all documents asked us few questions

    1) was it first marriage for both of us?

    2) How and when did we first meet?

    3) was it arranged marriage? if so any engagement has taken place?asked for some photos

    4) What do i do ?and where I stay in US?

    5) asked her marriage date?

    then he looked at some wedding photos and told me that " you took away your moustache" by looking at me since i had moustache at the time of wedding.I told him that " she wanted me to ..remove moustache" He just smiled at us told her that "Visa issued and congrats "

    I EVEN BOUGHT FLIGHT TICKET EVEN BEFORE HER VISA ISSUED.""

    Port of entry : Houston...We both flew to usa on 11/29/08. submitted sealed envelope along with her passport to Immigration officer....he just took her to room took fingerprints asked only one question Is it the US address where you stay ...she said yes ...thats it ..

    Over all everything went well after LONG WAIT at VSC(USCIS)

    hey guys ...i just came to know that my wife passed medical today ...they gave her damn sealed envelope ..i told her not to open it and PLACE IT IN SAFE LOCKER LOL....her interview date getting closer my nerves getting tense and tighter.i am planning to be there with her during interview time ..took permission from consulate office .leaving myself to india on thursday all they told me that i can enter visa lobby but cannot attend her interview ...but i can watch how she does interview...

    guys any tips how to ease tension :P:)

    I've got an RFE...i just called, and I need to send my birth certificate to show proof that they're my parents..

    This means they're going to have to get me a new one back home and send it to me somehow..

    Not Good shapt ...to get RFE ...""ALWAYS REMEMBER WHATEVER YOU DO IN LIFE YOU GOT TO HAVE PROOF"" FOR EX:

    IF YOUR PARENTS ARE DOING 864 FORM (AFFIDAVIT OF SUPPORT )YOU GOT TO SEND YOUR BIRTHCERTIFICATE (ORIGINAL) SHOWING YOUR PARENTS NAME .....OTHERWISE THEY THINK THEY ARE SOMEONE'S PARENTS ..

    now look for your birthcertificate or possibly your passport showing your parents name on it .

    good luck shapt ...you should get this THREAD going for 1000 pages SHPAT ...so NIMCHE(LINGCHE) will enter into guinness book of records lol :P:P(F)

    And I sent them copies of all our passports..but i guess that didnt do.

    oh well..it's all good.
