  1. POST EDIT:

I got my timeline wrong, please disregard and read this instead. I did not make enough for 2022 as I began working again in July. For the year 2023 I have made enough. Will this be sufficient? I do not have a co sponsor and don't know what to do. I will provide a letter from employer. Should I provide pay stubs for the whole 2023? What about bank statements.

    Thanks

You should have a tax transcript for 2022, because the filing deadline for that was 6 months ago, in April.

Best evidence of current income is current payslips or employer letter stating current annual income.

If your income is marginal, you may want to consider a joint sponsor, especially for when it comes time to adjust status and the income requirement is higher.

Thanks for your reply. I made a mistake and have edited my post. I did file for 2022 you’re correct. I didn’t make enough last year but have made enough this year and will provide a letter from my employer. Do you have a suggestion on how many it stubs and bank statements I should provide?

  3. It is October 2023 and my fiancés interview will be in December. I do not have my tax information for 2022 to provide yet as they will not send out W2’s or 1099’s until January.

I will be providing my tax returns for 2019, 2020 and 2021. I will also provide a letter from my current employer with my projected salary for 2023, paystubs and bank statements for the last 3 months.

My question is this. My 2021 tax return shows I made over the poverty level when I filed those taxes but it will be considered under the poverty level for 2023 since they raised it. I do not have to provide anything for 2022 because I don’t have my W2 or 1099 for last year correct? Will I be ok? My current job will provide enough for us to be okay but I’m not sure what immigration needs to see. Please advise. Thank you, I tried to explain as clearly as I could.
