  1. He can deliver pizzas at night and flip burgers during the day and take a 3rd job on the weekends. Why is he so lazy?

Well I can understand what the person is meaning by selling pizzas and flipping burgers. If it is so critical for her husband to show that he is working, then he needs to procure a job where he can say, "See, I am so serious about this that I am willing to do anything to support my family and the process." I will earn money and keep myself employed so that the process will be victorious. However, he should be earning unemployment, so perhaps that money will offset any challenges. (L)

  2. This is NOT a problem, though don't go too long after expiration of the I-94, you will be accumulating time out of status.

You will still be filing I-130 and I-485 together. Follow this guide: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...page=i130guide2

Ohh thats great YuAndDan ...........hope u saw we are doing AOS from B1/B2........so how many days do u say we get married after his I-94 and 90 days thing gets expired ......any approximation ??? Thanks so much !!!

A few days or weeks after tends to not be a problem, I would recommend ASAP, perhaps visit your courthouse and do a civil ceremony to take care of the legal part, and then later do a religious wedding for friends and family.

Thanks a ton .we wd follow as u said .......... wd update soon !!!

  4. Hi all,

i need all ur advice and help pls oon a situation we are in ...as we have posted earlier..i am the USC lady and my man is from India. Now we met online and he came to me in a B1/B2 visa ..we were wrking on a designing project together..we dated and decided to do a K1...... as we searched we saw another visit is perhaps good for us and the K1.So he has come again and he is here. Now recently in a friends party one of my friends and her husband gave us this site and we were delighted to find here that we can opt for a AOS without him to go back again and spend so much money and energy.I asked VJ earlier and all said its okk to do that if our intention were not preplanned, which truely was not.

NOw as we started geting ready we reasearched and saw that he has to stay minimum 90 days before we can get married. Now though he has a 1 year multiple entry b1/b2 but his I-94 is for 3 months. Thus his I-94 wd expire before we get married.BUt to keep the 90 days thing intact we cant marry before his I-94 expires.

NOw so we are planning to get married just after the 90 days and apply for the AOS then and then. But his I-94 wd expire before we get married.......is that okk ??

    Can someone help us ??

  5. HI ,

as far as i know a passport has to be at least six months valid while applying for AOS.So what happens if the passport expires during the process ?? Can my husband who is from India can renew his passport from his indian embassy or somewhere while the process is going on ??

We wd be applying soon and his passport is still 2 yrs valid !!

Can someone answer us ?? Thanks so much !!!

Your understanding of the requirement of a valid passport for AOS is incorrect.... A passport is a document that you show when you travel from country to country... your adjustment of status to permanent residence has nothing to do with travelling ....

I know I & my husband are totals newbies in this process.........NOw so what do u say , we can continue with his expired passport till we dnt get a Green Card ?? Or to get it renewed thru some indian embassy here in usa ?? Pls advice .Thanks so much !!

  7. FAQ: 6.1)...How soon after we get married should we apply for Adjustment of Status?

    http://www.visajourney.com/faq/k1k2visa-aos.html#6.1

Great 90 days is fine .We are adjusting from B1/B2 with an AOS. So as suggested he shd carry a copy of his NOA 1 with his expired I-94 ?? Does it come by post or email ??

Or is the return receipt that has to be carried ........( as it is wriiten in the guide "No matter where you file your application, send it "return receipt". Once they receive the application(s) you will be sent an offical receipt. For the 99% of people who filed at the national address per the current filing requirements you will receive an official looking receipt for all your forms that you filed. KEEP THESE FORMS as they are your only proof of having filed and you will need them later. " ) How to send a return receipt ????

  10. HI All,

I just registered today in this wonderful site.I did a lot of readthrough at this forum and saw such lovely answers.I was looking for some replies to my query as I have stated below.

I am the USC.I had known my man from India from over a year now and we worked togtehr online on different projects togther. We originally met in a dating forum. We fall in love with each other and soon he visited me for 3 months on a B1/B2 visa.He went back in time and came again now so as we can start the K1 process togther.Few weeks earlier we visited a friend`s party where some of my friends gave us the idea of marrying right here and not to go back and not to take the pain of seperation. We are really thankful to God that they gave us the idea as when we reasearched we found that it can really be done. One of them gave us this site adress and here I am writing. :) We are getting married in a weeks time. I researched this forum and found the following information about the forms to fill and costs for the AOS process:

    i-485 (foreign citizen) - $1010 ( including $930 plus a biometrics fee of $80 )

    i-130 (for USC) - $355.

    i-765 (foreign citizen)-$340.

i-864 (for USC) - no fee

g-325a (one for foreign citizen , one for USC)- no fee

i-693 (medical exam for foreign citizen, filled out by an USCIS civil surgeon)- $200 .....but in the govt. site it says this requires no fee

Pls correct me if I am wrong !! Awaiting your replies!!!
