I have a friend who needs help on how to change her status now that she got married to an American. She came here as a tourist visa and she applied extention for 6 months then filed for a student visa before the extention expires. Now she got married while waiting to be enrolled in a school for summer classes. The question is, can she apply for AOS? What forms does she need to file? I highly appreciate advices and inputs about this. Thanks

I tried to detox my hair using the vitamin c powder and vinegar and hot water...ang ginawa ko pa after mgrinse ng shampoo nilgay ko ung lhat ng png detox then rinse well tpos conditioner after tpos nrinse ko dn ung conditioner..TAma po ba ako???? sorry po ha ang kulit ko hehehe

Wow, I think I will try that tomorrow. I have a long hair which I am really trying a lot of conditioner that doesn't make my hair fall off a lot, but still can't find one. I hope this detox you shared will work on my falling hair. Thanks...will let you know if it works on me

Had one too but wasnt asked for any records or certificates from the doctor. They ask to see if you lie about it coz they know so always better to be honest.

I had my cyst removed in my right breast too, and my medical was early in the morning, I was number 4 in the physical doctor where she asked what was the scar and told her I had a benign cyst removed and that was it, she did not asked any papers.

Hey guys, I need your help regarding flying with an expired visa and I-94. My husband and I have been married 2 months before my visa and I-94 expired. Now my visa and I-94 are expired and we haven't filed for a change of status yet and it's been few months after our wedding and the expiration of my visa and I-94. I don't have a driver's license and and SSN either. Now we are considering to fly in California soon. Would I be allowed to fly or not? I am also wondering if the marriage license will work or not. No problem flying any State in US, as long as you have your passport with you , just get ticket with your name used in your passport or bring your State ID if you have one with your married name, so you can get airline ticket with your married name. I have been flying to other states with my passport which has expired I-94 and expired K1 visa since my adjustment of status is still on process. To play safe bring your marriage liscense along with your passport.

Her first interview was scheduled on Nov 19, 2008. So even if they went off of that date it should be valid until May 20, 2009.

Maybe it is a moot point anyways. We have her flight scheduled for March 12. Do we have a full 3 months from that date to get married?

Yep! You guys have 90 days to marry. Best to submit the I-485 for AOS and the EAD and AP as soon as you get the marriage certificate.

90 days will start counting on her port of entry date. I was in her situation too because of the sputum test. I was issued visa July 1 2008, and expires Sept. 25, 2008. I left Philippines August 21, got married Oct 17. Filed AOS November 22.

I would just like to inquire since there is no divorce here in the Philippines I am anxious that presumptive death for my ex-husband will be eligible for termination of previous marriage????This was advised by my lawyer and the case was granted March 2007. I was married with my ex-husband 10years ago and have not heard from him since then. I got all the original documents including court decision, copy from civil registrar and copy of marriage certificate with National Statistics Office authentication of termination of previous marriage. Just got approved for the K-1. My fiancee plans on changing her last name to mine when we are married. Which of the two options is better based on people's experience?

Option 1:

1) Apply for SSN (maiden name)

2) Marriage

3) Change SSN (to married name)

Option 2:

1) Marriage

2) Apply for SSN (married name)

Sounds like there is a potential pitfall with the second option? However, it also sounds like it's an issue that the SS office doesn't have people in the system until two weeks after his/her arrival. A SS card is pretty necessary to get all of the paperwork things (driver's license, bank accounts, leases, etc.) in order. Anyway, thanks for your help!

For me, its better to get married first and get all papers ready for AOS and once its on file with USCIS get SSN. So no problems of changing names or what ever for more delays. SSN is not really needed if you dont have your EAD yet.

Good Luck....Just check with the embassy if they can pre-pone your interview date.....I don't think NVC will do it.....

Since you were moved or rescheduled for the interview, and its SLEC that gave you the date, I think you must just have to abide the date for the interview. I am sure they are doing this the earliest they can insert you for interview in the embassy. Usually the earliest is only 4 or 5 days if the embassy is not fully packed of applicants for interview. Relax and prepare all documents especially the NSO verification for this will cause delays in preparing visa. Start checking NSO if your papers were already forwarded to the embassy. just be patient. u r not alone. there r some VJ members had d same situation with ur fiancee but they passed and survived all the test that the SLEC required from them. u will b together soon. have faith n God. u will be fine.... all u need 2 do, pray, encourage ur fiancee 2 b positive, after that she will be here.... be strong.... ur fiancee need ur positive point of view....

I was in her situation before. As what have you said here that she will be due on Feb 3 for the result of her sputum culture test. I presumed that she did not received any call from Clark and its only few days more to wait. Then rest assured that she is fine. Usually St Lukes will call during the 2nd and 3rd week of the 8th week period of the culture. She can Call Clark on the day of her due date. She will be given immunization then and will be scheduled for interview within 5 days. God bless

No problem at all if you have all the papers for evidence with you. Just be consistent with your answers from the the pre screener to the consul for usually consul will just repeat the questions asked by the prescreener. Look into the eyes of the consul during interview and be yourself. I was once in your possition before. Good luck

Anyone pls give me information about interview question if ur annulled i dont have contact with him for the last6 years is consul gonna focus on my past marriage ?I was once denied as tourist visa year 2004 is that matter?

As long as you are legally capable to marry with supporting evidence ,you will be fine. JUst be honest in all your asnwer and you will be ok. Questions on K1 interview are just basic questions about you and your petitioner.Good Luck!

I don't know what this is... I've already had my EAD card since August and pretty much nothing has happened since then.

Is it a green card? If so, don't we have to be interviewed first? We haven't had any notification of an interview.

What are the medical examination requirement for K1 during the AOS process? I already had a medical examination before I got my K1 visa from the Philippines. Do I need to go through another one for the AOS process?

Yes, but you do not complete the form yourself. A USCIS-appointed doctor called Civil Surgeon" must complete it for you. You should bring with you a copy of the Vaccination Supplement that the Phillipine doctor gave you during your K1 medical exam.

Lastly, I had a previous pulmonary infection (minimal PTB) but passed all my sputum culture test. What should I expect when I arrive in the US? Do I still need to go through the same series of test before we can file for my AOS?

The Civil Surgeon you visit to complete your I-693 form will tell you what you need with regard to this.

If you were one that had the sputum test and did the sputum culture and pass all these without medication your passport will have the visa as PTB Class B1 you will be adviced to see a doctor for follow up check up which the immigration will tell you where and its free. You will be given a letter to bring to the clinic. Another xray and skin test will be performed. Dont worry you will be guided what to do next.

This will be our 7th week of waiting for that sputum test

If the result comes out negative,, how long does it take before we get his new Interview schedule.

Maayong pasko sab ninyo tanan dinhi sa Vj, ika 4 months pa lang nako deri sa North Carolina and yes mingaw kaayo bisan unsaon nako lahi ra gyud, cg man unta mi out ug attend ug mga party with other pinoy groups pero lahi lang gyud...my first time too to be away from my family during christmas and new year. But this is our life now we have to adjust and be with it with our new family. More blessings to us Pinoys here in the US.

We used the same letter from my employer for the AOS and K1 and (at least so far) have not gotten an RFE. I don't remember who it was, but when we were putting our AOS package together, I saw that someone else on here had done the same thing and had no problem. Ours was only 3 months old at the time and I've been in the same job for 6 years (with the same employer for nearly 8). That may make a difference.

The only evidence the directions for the I-864 say is required is a copy of your 2007 tax return (and W2, schedules, and 1099s) or a 2007 tax transcript. However, I know there are people here who have gotten RFEs for employer letters and pay stubs anyway. I would think that if you can send copies of your most recent pay stubs and it's pretty clear that your salary and employer are the same (or maybe salary higher), you should be okay.

My answer relates only to the employer letter. My income is high enough that I did not give them any information about my assets so I have no idea what they need for that.

When we had to answer a request for evidence (RFE) for our Fiancee Visa, part of the requested information included was a needed letter from the bank verifying an account there, plus a letter from the employer verifying employment. Those letters are about 10 months old. Can we use the same letters for form I-864 for AOS since that application is next, or do we have to get new documents to meet these requirement?
