  1. I'm not sure if this is a correct forum for my question but here it goes: my wife filled I-130 form on my behalf and we have send it to USCIS PO Box Chicago, IL 60680-4170. During my emigration court hearing I was told by DHS attorney that our I-130 was approved and we can proceed to the next stage but we have never received this approval in writting by post.

Who do we have to contact to have our I-130 approval form send to us?

Your help will be greatly appreciated!

  2. I have arrived to the USA on K-1 visa and we got married within 3 months but we haven't filled I-485 in time and so I have ended up in Batavia Federal Detention Facility and in front of Immigration Court judge.

My wife filled I-130 application on my behalf and it was approved. Now we are getting ready to get new medical and fill I-485 and Green Card applications.Once this is done my case in Immigration Court will be dismissed. Two questions:

1- I am told that I do have to fill my I-485 and Green Card forms with the Immigration Court and not USCIS Service Center. Is that correct?

2- When I was in Batavia FDF I was fingerprinted and photographed by ICE. Could those biometrics be used with my I-485 form or do we HAVE to have new ones done? My wife is on fixed income so saving $90 by using existing biometrics would be helpful!

  3. My wife filed I-130 application on my behalf with Vermont Service Center. After several months Vermont CS transfered this application to Federal Center in Buffalo to speed up proceedings. We have received a letter that she needs to attend I-130 interview at Buffalo FC on May 5th.

We live in upstate NY and a trip to Buffalo is about 4 hours one way. My wife is a disabled veteran and although she isn't an invalid, she finds long journeys extremely stressful! There is a USCIS Field Office much closer to us but it offers only a limited service. Is it at all possible to have this interview transferred from Buffalo to the one closer to us and, if it's doble, what evidence do we need to provide to USCIS?

Your help will be greatly appreciated!

  4. I have entered US with K-1 visa, married within 90 days and I am in a process of filling forms for Adjustment of Status. Couple of questions about I-765 form (Application for Employment Authorization):

    field no.15 Current Immigration Status - I presume it's still K-1 visa?

field no.16 Eligibility Categories - jezzz it's complicated.... I think that I fall under (a)(15)(K) category. Does that sound right?

  5. What am I supposed to fill in A# field in form I-485? It comes up of few occasions: after US Social Security Number in Part 1 ( US Social Security #...; A# (if any)...) and when listing your relatives in Part 3 B Family Name...; Given Name..., Middle Initial...; Date of Birth...; Country of Birth...; Relationship...; A#....

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

  6. Can't really help you with situation in Finland but here, in UK, you are being told by the embassy to which clinic to go and clinic does x-ray and blood test and send results to the embassy. Examination took about an hour (including x-ray and waiting time). The downside is that the whole process cost £ 170!

Still, after reading your post I assume that YES, you need blood test and x-ray made before your appointment and you have to bring the results with you.

    Hope it helps :)
