Woohoo!!! Yet another hurdle crossed and no interview requested. God is good and His favor has been on this whole process. I never would have thought it could be so easy to move from one country to another without any hiccups or problems. Immigration was a breeze, Finding great employment was a breeze. Fitting in to a ready made family was a breeze. Getting marrid and having an awesome relationship with my wifey was a breeze. Life is awesome and I'm not sure how it gets any better.....aside from winning a lottery perhaps?

Everything ended up fine in the end...now I have a new issue. I collected EI for a couple months when I first got to the US. How do I go about filing my taxes for 2009 in Canada claiming the EI taxes as a refund?

Got My Premanent Resident card today...I didn't have an interview at all and have been working for 3 weeks now since I got my EAD early. I don't have my passport stamped yet. I can't take time off to go get it stamped either.

I probably won't be having an interview. Seems most of use who get the cases transfered don't have to suffer through the interview. I would imagine the next thing for me is my Permanent Resident Card in a couple months. I'm not so concerned as long as I have my EAD and can work. (I start working 8am on Monday morning)

The EAD is good for one year...but when I the permanent redient card gets here then the EAD is pretty much useless as the "greencard" allows me to work as well

I JUST GOT MY EAD IN THE MAIL!!! Praise God!!! Woohoo!!! I am now going to copy it for my new employer and get a start date for work. YES!!!!

Did you ever receive your notice of approval for the AP in the mail? The Officer on the phone said that if we don't receive it by Saturday to call him back.. we'll see. Which office do the notice of approvals go out from??

I only received the final approved AP. Two copies which is normal. There was no approval notice outside of the actual approved AP. My receiving that is what caused me to call up and find out if the EAD was approved which it was.

Well we called about the AP but they said that receipt/case number does not appear in their system... so I figure they lost it? It's not nearly as important as the EAD and we didn't have any travel plans - I just find it crazy how unorganized things are.

Ask to speak to someone on the next highest level....they don't have access to what you need where as the second level people do.

I tried calling them after reading your posts. All they could tell me was to call them back after 75 days from receipt. It sounded like they were reading a script as well. Maybe I will try again and hopefully talk to someone else.

Liam just talked to an immigration officer. His EAD was approved on 4/6/09! Wooooo. The guy said we should receive it by this weekend.

Now see...wasn't that phone call worth it? hehe Warning though...I was approved 4 days before you and I still have not received the notice of approval which usually preceeds the EAD arrival by 2 days. On average it takes about 10 days(depending on snail mail to receive the EAD after approval). If you were approved on the 6th I'd start getting my hopes up around the 15/16th.

I have 1 more day to physically receive my card and then my job offer is dropped. It better get here on time but it's not looking good.

I am a US Citizen and I married my husband back in october. We filled our papers in the middle of february, his biometrics appointment was on March 16, he is getting desperate beacuse his Visa expires on April 14, 2009. He wants to know how soon could he expect his work authorization and after that the interview. Thanks for your responses.

You are awaiting your AOS. You have nothing to be concerned about with the K1 having expired. It was a single entry Visa for marriage purposes. It expired when you got married. Get the AOS done ASAP...but uscis won't give you a hassle for having not filed earlier.

Can everybody see their online case status ?

None of our receipts are showing up online, and all of them start with MSC.

I can see my I-485 but that's it. My AP, and EAD don't show up at all. I had to call in every couple days to see the status and even then I had to wait for a second level person to look into it for me. Thankfully both of them are approved now though and my EAD was already ordered for production Just waiting on my EAD to arrive in the mail. When you call uscis (800) 375 – 5283 just select 1 then 2 then 3 and tell them you are looking for a status update. Have your receipt number ready.

Wuick observation. It seems that if your case has been transferred then you have a %98 chance of not having to do an interview. Thank God that I'm one of those that were transferred.

Yup...that's right. I got my EAD approved. Dated April 2nd Spreadsheet updated. Last step is the interview date...but now that my EAD is approved I can take that nice job offer and start working! Woohoo!!!!!

Does there have to be an AOS interview or can they approve me without one? I just read that in most cases the interview is waived but some are mandatory due to having to clear up info or to test relationship authenticity.

I have a question regarding my work status and I would appreciate any responses. Last Thursday I received an email saying that card production had been ordered on my EAD, and then today I received an email saying the approval notice has been sent. My company has been pretty cool, allowing me to be on unpaid administrative leave since my TN-1 visa expired early last month. My question is, do I have to wait for the actual card to arrive in the mail or are the emails evidence enough of my status, since I'd like to get back to work ASAP.

Great question...I just called and my EAD is ordered for printing too. I already accepted a job offer and they want me to start immediately. Do we both have to wait for the card or is there another method of doing this? I already know about the I-9 section 2 clause where we can produce our application for EAD within 3 days of starting and then we have 90 days to produce the EAD card but my employer is more than likely going to want the card first. :|

I now have my AP I just checked the mail and it was sitting there. It is usually done at the same time as the EAD or shortly before so that means I should have my EAD any day now which means the job offer I accepted should still be good Pray that is the way it works out for me k? Thanks

I got one major problem regarding proof of relationship during the interview (hopefully soon). I and my husband do not really have pictures of us TOGETHER. We have pictures but it is usually alone. He finds taking pictures embarrasing especially in public. I met his family (siblings and parent) in Miami and most of his friends, but we did not take pictures. I am pretty sure that these pictures are solid proofs. I already submitted the following:

his life insurance policy (me as beneficiary)

my life insurance policy (him as benenficiary)

water bills with both our names there

lease contract with both names there

internet bill (only my name)

his 401k (me as beneficiary)

health insurance card (me as one of his dependents)

Do you have any idea on any other documents to show relationship?

Umm...get a camera...take some pictures of you together doing different things. You have time. Hurry up and do it.

Our case was touched today. Probably just to move it to the "doesn't have the I-693" pile... we luckily had a copy of his full medical from Australia (completed May 2008) so I was hoping that would be enough...

How can I tell if my case was touched? Online all it says is "Current Status: This case is now pending at the office to which it was transferred." and still no sign of any EAD online

Hey guys! COngrats to all Jan fillers who already got their interview date and EAD/AP!

Still no EAD in the mailbox for me. no update either with my EAD (last touched Jan30). My I-485 case still can't be found online. My husband needs my SSN so he can file joint income tax. Im worried that we will not be able to get it before our interview date which will be in 2 weeks from now. Is it necessary to bring 2008 income tax in our interview? We only have 2008 W2. Will that be suffice?

We are in the same situation, I am waiting for either my EAD to come or an ITIN number so we can file our joint tax return. The local IRS office sent our Federal tax return to Texas along with the W-7 form (ITIN application) weeks ago and we have heard absolutely nothing! We are beginning to think that we may have to ask for an extension on the state tax return because we were told we could not file it until the ITIN number has been received.

I'm just desperate now for the EAD to come through soon, I need to work and it will probably take time to find work any way. Oh wel, thats my rant for the day!!!!
