  1. I only have legal guardianship of the child,i have not adopted the child the courts feel the child is only 4 years away from being of legal age that it is not worth adopting. will the child still be able to apply for US citizenship with out adoption at the age of 14? the reason we are looking in to doing this before the child turns 18 is so she can get student aid and scholarships when it come time to attend collage.

  2. We received our interview date for July 2008 at the embassy in Bogotá. I want to cross all my T's and dot all my I's

I would like to know if my fiancé and I can do the following? Please give me your feed back....

I would like my fiancé and her daughter to travel to Bogotá to see the doctors and get all of there shots

how far in advance can they do this. I would like them to travel to and from BQ to handle this on there own. I would then travel to BQ to meet them an then as a family I would like to travel one day before our apt to Bogotá then we can go to the interview as a family. After the interview I would like us to travel back to BQ they can wait until they receive there visa and say all of there good bye's I will then travel home and come back for them in a few weeks. At that time I would like to travel as a family home to the US.....

Please give me some feed back? Please let me know if this makes any since?

Thank you very much for all your insight.

  4. Hello to all:

My name is Rey and I am new to this board my fiancé Lina and i have applied for a K-1 Visa I am using an Immigration Attorney here in Florida to handle the process for us. This is all new to me and my fiancé we sent our package to Vermont on 1/23/2008 they received the package and gave us a receipt number... This is where we stand to date... I am asking for so help and or advice here is there anything we should be doing? Our attorney is telling us to just sit tight and relax this is all normal and the process will take time. Can you guys give me a basic idea from the time they give you a receipt number to the time her visa is approved and she has her visa to travel from Colombia to Florida is this normally a 7 to 12 month process.... I have read many treads and I know it is different for everyone

We are very happy with our lawyer she is always available by her office phone and even her cell. She has been such a big help with my fiancé Lina explaining everything to her..... Thank you in advance for you help and feed back I am open to any and all advice and help..

    Thank you

    Rey
