Hello all, My wife recently got her yellow packet in the mail with her Visa... This yellow packet says Do not open, used for immigration officer only in tiny letters... My wifes grandmother was home when the DHL man came and gave her the packet... She was happy to see my wifes visa and just too happy to see what was in this envelope and SHE OPENED IT!!!!

......... Now im just at a lose because i dont know what this means... Can someone here tell me what should i do? This packet says do not open for immigration officer only when you enter the USA... And its open... What to do?

Well, the interview started at 8:00 am in the morning here... We tryed to make it there earlier to get in first... Well there were alot of firsts there... After triple checking all documents and making sure everything is 100% she left to the interview while i waited... Before entering the embassy my wife asked how long it would take.. She estimated around 1 1/2 hours, as ive read here interviews lasted about 5-10minutes and others even longer!!! Well 3 hours past! I was cold tired and wanting a big cup of coffee for the third time that morning lol.. She comes out smiling what a releaf to see such a beautiful face smiling so then i knew everything was good!!! I asked many questions like, how long it took and what did she ask you. She told me it took only acouple minutes!

My wife didnt give her anything unless she asked for it. So she started asking and my wife starting giving her the documents. She asked acouple questions like ( Have you ever been to the USA? How many times? ) My wife been there twice... And then she asked ( So thats how you met your husband? ) reply yes... Then she looked at AOS mine and my join sponser. Asked for everything except my bank statement :/ odd. She accepted the copy of letter of employer from my brother... Strange but lucky for me.. She also took the pay stubs from 2 weeks ago. And thats it, she told my wife you will recieve your visa in the mail by next week.

Well i thought it was going to be alot harder for my part but thank god it all worked out! And i want to thank everyone here for helping me out with my questions! Thanks!!! And good luck to all those who are still waiting!

Hello all, Well my wife has her interview tomarrow and i thought i would give you my checklist that ive gotten.

1. AOS- Original's Signed Petitioner / Joint sponser.

2. Birth certificates. Copies Both Joint Sponser and Petitioner.

3. Letter from Employer / 3 Pay stubs from last Month Copies.

4. Tax Transcripts Both Joint Sponser and Petitioner.

5. Bank statement Original.

6. Copies of my Plane ticket to return back to the USA in may. Also a copy of a lease with my name on Occupants. Concrete proof of Domicile???

7. Alot of photo's 3 albums. Abunch of letter's..

Anything else im missing here?

Im going through the same problem alittle with the letter from employer... I live in Russia with my wife but i didnt meet the poverty line so i had my brother be a joint sponser... It took him awhile to get a letter from employer but guess what??? It got lost on the way to Russia in the MAIL! Talk about bad mailing system.. So i had my brother do another one this time but he scanned me a copy first and sent it to me in an email... So i have a copy of this letter of employer stating his current salary and his position and that he is a full time employee.. So guess what again? It got lost in the mail! Second time for the win!! So my wife has her interview on April 4th and she is going to go with a copy of the letter of employer... Lucky i got the AOS from my brother on time... But that letter of employer was a nightmare! So wish us luck! And ill post back if they accepted it or not lol... I dont see why not, but the government might see otherwise...

You order simple transcripts from the IRS they will have gross income listed on them.

I dont understand this, because he explained everything to them and they sent him these documents... It has his gross income listed and even on the cover page it says For Imigration... I beleave what you say, it just doesnt make sense that they send this document...

Sound like he used 1040EZ to file taxes, so that is noted on the transcripts, what you have there are transcripts.

So these documents are the ones i need right? Even though it says Record of Account.. I thought it would say Transcripts... Are these correct?

Hello all, i had my join sponser do his transcripts what i told him to do and he sent me a form in my email... It doesnt say transcipts on it Just Record of Account.. Also looks like its a 1040ez... Can i still use this as a transcipt as it has his gross income of 2007?

Ive had previous problems about this.. You see i live with my wife in Russia and have been for the past 16 months.. I didnt keep a domicile, but i had my brother who i intend of living with when i return find a place to live.. So he found a place to live and put me and my wife on the lease as OCCUPANTS. So he sent me a photo copy of this by email... Will this work?

Also, i bought my plane ticket last week for May 7th the day my Visa expires. But my wifes interview is on April 4th.. Will my plane ticket show proof of me returning? Or is it to late? Help please! Thanks you all so much...

I have received my joint-sponsers Tax returns from 2004-2005-2007... He doesnt have 2006... I also have W-2's from 2005-2007... I also have pay stubs.. Will this be enough? I also read that they only look at 1 year anyway...

Another question... My brother cant find his birth certificate... Is it ok if i receive a copy of his drivers license to prove he is a US citizen?

Hello all yet again!

I live in Russia with my wife and we have an account together.. She is the owner of the bank account since im not allowed to open one up here.. Im on her account together though.. We both have cards... Now for the AOS, On part 7 LINE 26 and 8 LINE 28, do i have to put both of our assets down together since we share the account or what?

I have 18,000 in savings and would like to use this toward the 125% poverty level since i dont meet it anyway since im unemployed... But how does this work?? Will they count this as the immigrants assets or mine?

I have his W-2's / Tax returns, but its hard to get a letter from employer.... He has it but he wont be able to send it in time... Thats why i asked here if its really a priority to get the letter from employer from a joint sponser?

I have a question... Reguarding the letter of employer... I am currently unemployed living off of savings and i was wondering does my joint sponser have to give a letter of employer??? Or what?? And is there a way around not giving a letter of employer... Say i didnt receive it in the mail in time to give... Can i give them something different or what? Thanks

Hello all AGAIN! And not for the last time ..

On line 28 of the AOS can i use my wife *sponsered immigrant* bank statement and how much she has saved in the bank... Also i dont make the poverty lvl since im unemployed here so i have a joint sponser... But my wife has about 13k in savings do you guys think this will help? And is this possible to use my wifes bank statement with the AOS?

I called the IRS and asked them to send me Tax transcipts for the last 4 years instead of the recommended 3. But my question is, on my paper's it says Wage and Income Transcript, Form W-2 Wage and Tax Statement. I was wondering and thinking on this paper it has my W-2 information and my Tax information yes?? So i dont need to find my W-2's hiding somewhere and make copies of those because these documents have them already?

Only need simple IRS transcripts, as long as the transcript shows gross income amount, this will be fine.

Not that I can see about the I-864, yes a statement of being un-employed should be fine. I am assuming moved there Nov 2006, so were un-employed the entire year of 2007.

Yep! You assume correct! I have visa's to prove my stay in russia so it could also be my prove of leaving the country because if i would stay i would have to travel back to the USA or closest country being Ukraine and getting another visa... Ive traveled to Ukraine 3 times getting visa's and visiting. Just like a immigrant traveling to America needing a visa i need one for Russia. So i will get me on my brother's lease he will send me a copy of it. And i write a letter. I want to thank you alot for helping me understand what i can do!

For my past taxes, i didnt do my taxes for 2006 since i moved to Russia in November.. Will this be a problem? I've received my Tax Transcripts from the IRS for years 2002-2006.... I wont be able to make the poverty line so my brother will be my joint-sponser.. Will i have a problem?
