  1. Hi Everyone!!!!

I just want to say we got approved finally!!! We filed our K1 visa on July 27, 2007 and now finally we are approved. We have been on AP for 1 year and 3 months... We are soo happy...

I just want to say thank you to JFD for listening to my endless horror USEM stories. I'm soo glad and thankful that I found this website and get to meet JFD...:dance::dance:

    Thank you VJ...

congrats....finally...your wait is over......im so happy for you.....ingat...;)

  2. ^So even though a passport is not needed for a cruise ship to mexico, she cannot do it? My sister and her family just got back from one and they went onshore at different ports in mexico and even rented a jeep to cruise around in for a few hours while at port, and none of them had to have a passport...only the cruise ship registry ID card.

I am confused as to whether or not a cruise ship is considered leaving the country if no passport is needed.

They just recently announced that the new rules for Americans going to Bahamas, Mexico and Canada will need passports. It used to be you just needed a drivers license or birth certificate, but since the tightening of the immigration laws thats all changed. Good luck

That applies to Cruise ships, Airlplane, etc.

Quick question... Not really connected with Mexico question of Op.

I have my green card right now. I want to go to bahamas for a vacation. I do have my P.I. passport. I plan to fly to bahamas. I know greencard is enough for me to enter Bahamas. If Bahamas requries passport, do i need to get a visa to enter Bahamas since I'm not yet a US citizen?

hello...went to bahamas when we had our cruise...yes you will need your passport and GC but you dont need to get a visa go enter bahamas...

"Bahamas visa is not required for citizens of Philippines for a stay up to 30 days.Traveler must present an original passport and their original Green Card upon entry."Maximum stay in Bahamas: 30 days

  3. ^source?

thats true...you need to bring your passport (for USC) and passport and GC (for non-USC) before they will let you board the ship...or your fiancee will not need GC if she will have an unexpired US visa (but since shes holding a K1...its valid for one entry only)... and also..some port will ask for an ID (DL or GC) before you can tour the island...they will check if the name match with the card that the cruise ship will give you...

just went to a cruise last May 2009.

  4. Have them go back and resubmit, but type up a receipt with a list of what you submitted. Get the person receiving your documents to verify that all the documents are there and then have them stamp your receipt with the date received and the name or number of the person who received them. That would give you something to show them if they again claim the documents weren't submitted.

hello there...i agree with jsnearline...i learned that from my previous company when i was still in PH.... 'if it is not written...its not done'...so make sure that you list all the documents that they requested from you with your MNL number and have a receiving copy of what you hand them...make sure that they sign and date it by whoever will receive it...

im sorry to hear that you are still struggling with USEM...i just cant believe it...we have the same interview date and youre still stuck with them....i hope everything will workout soon...

  5. there is a lot more to becoming a pharmacist here than the internship.. have you looked at the requirements of the FPGEE?

yup..i checked that already..and again before i can practice pharmacy here i still need to finish that internship program....

internship is certainly one road but not the only one... my wife is getting ready for the TOEFL, getting her transcripts evaluated so she can sit for the FPGEE and then move on to the NAPLEX.

in addition we have an internship here at my work (we own 29 retail pharmacies) and if she opts for the internship it is PAID...

im not sayin that it is the only one but you know its a requirement...what i am planning to do is take that internship (i am in a state with a strict law when in comes to pharmacy) take the PTCB so io can work as a certified tech while im preparing for my fpgee....then take the fpgee..then after i pass it i will take the toefl...coz if im not mistaken toefl is only valid for 2 years...(correct me if im wrong...)

    thanks

  6. If the internship will "magically" transform into a paid position after work authorization is received, then they will probably frown on it...

not really coz i really need to take that before i can get the job i want...no matter what i do i need to finish that intership program before i can be a pharmacist here...so i have no choice but to take that...and they said that the board of pharmacyu here will not consider it as internship if it is paid...so i need to fisish the hours for free...

  7. h there....i just want to know what does ASC codes mean? how do they categorize an application if its ASC code 1, ASC code 2 or ASC code 3? and lastly what does 'no code' (blank) means?

upon searching i came across with this:

    Code 1 is for a fingerprinting appointment;

Code 2 is for a biometrics appointment; and

    Code 3 is a combination fingerprinting/biometrics appointment

can some body explain it? thanks

    i appreciate it....

    ;)

  8. That's fine, they are not going to deny based on some minor distinction on your cover sheet. Most people working at the consulates get confused, they aren't going to expect that to be perfect :) Did you fill in the right paperwork? Send a check? Complete all the requirements? That's what to worry about, not a minor distinction that is on a cover sheet, not even official paperwork.

Exactly, it's not a big deal. You'll be fine. :)

    thanks....i appreciate it...

thanks for the reply...yeah everything is okay....all the forms require and check and proof...i dont worry about that at all...its funny that i worry about the cover letter....well just worried that it will be the first thing to see and they will just based on that that they will not read the whole cover letter and my application will go to 'family based' section.....

sorry just so stressed out with this paperworks.....

    thanks...

    ;)

If its on a cover letter then no it wont be a problem. Technically it;s still a family petiton since you are in fact married now and your spouse should be part of your "family".

    yeah thats what i thought also.....oh well..what can i do.....lets wait and see... ;)

    thaks for the reply..appreciate it...
