Unfortunately I have an afternoon time for my interview, which means probably no same day oath ceremony... which means another full day of driving to get to and from Dallas. On the other hand I have an interview date and that's great news.

Interview letter is at home, but it's either 9:15 or 9:30
Sounds like you should have a same day oath ceremony, congratulations!

Tomorrow's the day! Can't wait to get this interview over with...and hoping they do the same day oath!
What time is your interview? A January filer interviewing at the Dallas, TX field office stated that same day oaths are only given to those that get the earliest interview slots, and those are reserved for people traveling into Dallas from some distance.

Just looked up my online status today and I it changed to '... placed in line for interview scheduling.' It looks like March filers may start receiving interview dates any time now. Good luck everyone.

I used a felt tip pen, and so far the package was accepted and I have my bio appointment. Just use a soft touch and you should be fine.

We all have our own style. I work at Kentucky Fried Chicken and 'cause I had to go straight to work after the ceremony I wore my chicken costume to the Oath Ceremony. Boy, did I get weird looks. I mean all those losers are eating chicken anyway, but when they see a large chicken doing what chickens do, they act irritated. So the obese black girl asked me to remove the head and boy did I tell her to shove it!
Then, when waiting for Obama to appear, I watched porn on my iPad. The lady next to me rolled her eyes like she didn't like it, and I told her I'm not doing anything she ain't doin' at home, right? So I told her to hug herself. Then came the judge and he looked really . . . I mean . . . where do they find these people? So he talks and I get annoyed and crank up my iTunes. Must have been louder than I thought, 'cause several people shisht at me. I mean . . . what wrong with those guys? All in all, it was pretty lame from start to finish. Then they wanted me to give 'em my Green Card and I told 'em over my dead body #######! I finally left and can't really recommend doing this #######. No fun.
I'm glad that not every (former) German feels an unquestioning loyalty to the state!

Updating JandC's local USCIS office and some of my details.
Quick question, my I-797C NOA states:
"Upon receipt of all required Record Checks, you will be scheduled to appear for an interview at your local USCIS field office."
Does that mean I will not need to do the Bio? Does anybody who had to do the Bio have that on their NOA also? Thanks!

ONCE AN AUSSIE ALWAYS AN AUSSIE....I know of a few that tried to slip in without it - used their yank passport - and boy were they in trouble....so just a heads up...

I would think so, because it says OR birth certificates.
But then, for the interview, they will ask you to bring all these things, in which case, just replace the ORs with ANDs. At least they did for me. I find that those who send all of most of the things on these list are not asked to bring anything to the interview besides the usual ID, GC etc.
Thanks, I will probably send more than I have to but I'm not sure I will be able to get all of it in time before I send the application (though I expect to have everything by the interview date).

For this portion, would ONLY a birth certificate of your child(ren) be sufficient?

On the N-400, Part 10 D. Q.16:
"Have you ever been arrested, cited, or detained by any law enforcement officer (including USCIS or former INS and military officers) for any reason?"
Back in 2009 I was driving east on I-10 (Texas) in the middle of nowhere and was pulled over by a Texas State Trooper. He issued me a warning for some minor traffic infringement and provided me with a 'receipt' stating it was a warning. I do not have that any longer, and I just ordered my complete Texas driving record and it does not appear there (nor does anything else).
Should I answer 'Yes' on Q16? I am concerned because I do not have any proof of the incident on my driving record or otherwise.

In my case I put about 5 extra days (not business days); i.e., instead of 90 days early, I applied about 85 days early.
Don't know if your local USCIS office does same-day oaths. Raleigh-Durham does not. My oath was scheduled to a date which was 10 days after my interview date.
Ok, I am leaning towards 10 extra days just on account of it being ~6+ hours drive to the nearest USCIS field office (Dallas hopefully, otherwise San Antonio or El Paso).

I would advise anybody not to wait in front of the Post Office to drop off their N-400 precisely at day 90, but to wait between 7 to 10 days longer to avoid having an interview at a time where the applicant is not yet eligible to become a U.S. citizen. If that happens, the file will go back into the stack labeled HOLD which often causes a delay of a month or two.
My earliest filing date (according to the calculator) is 02/28/2012. Do you recommend 7 to 10 business days? or 7 to 10 days period? I want my interview date on the same date as my oath ceremony (if at all possible) as it's a long drive to the nearest field office from here.

It was a long wait, I wasn't called in to be interviewed until almost an hour after my appointment time. The IO was neither friendly nor unfriendly, just business-like. I don't remember the questions, I wasn't asked to provide any further documentation (other than passport, green card, and driver's licence), and I was told that I was recommended for approval. I was also told to wait for a letter with the time and date of the oath ceremony.
From my experience I would recommend sending in a thorough and full set of supporting documentation when you first send in your application and the rest should be a formality. Good luck to everyone else still waiting, and congratulations to those that are now citizens!
