Starting to prepare paperwork for AOS with a few questions please:
Do I pay the fee for each person (my new wife plus her 2 kids (12 & 11 yrs)? Also Social security office is telling me I need EAD for her 2 kids before they are given a social security number. They are only kids? and will not be working, but rather going to school. It's a bit confusing, so any inputs would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Coming up on 2 weeks already. How does one get an SSN for my fiancee's kids (10 & 12 yrs)? Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

Finally visa in hand including my kids. On the way to USA 8/21/08. This site provided a lot of help. Thanks to all the VJ'ers. Good luck to everybody. God bless.

For Chris-Lei: Doc Ver fee was paid 6/25/08 and I had to follow-up with a phone call to Robbie of Delbros who then confirmed that USE was advised of payment on July 1. July 2 I contacted Grace and she confirmed everything was ok. So it took 3 weeks for the NSO to process the request in time for my fiancee's interview July 25. It takes assertiveness and some patience to work thru all these things. Hope everything goes well for all concerned. God bless.

I'm sorry to say that you are still married according to the philippine laws, because divorce isn't recognized. You must have an annulment to proceed. please check this link:

Best of luck to you.

Just got a phone call from my fiancee. Praise be to God!, our visa was approved just now..... pink slip...paid Delbros (3x) Hers and my 2 adopted sons to be. According to delbros visa to be delivered in 5-7 days. Plenty of time for them to get here prior to school starting Aug. 25. The journey continues...... Thanks to this website and all VJ'ers. God bless.

Yes, it is a requirement to have met in person within 2 yrs of sending the application. Please check this link:

From your post, it would seem that the feeling was mutual. Waiting doesn't have anything to do with it (albeit a small part). "For love endures forever. " If it was meant to be.....then so be it. I fully respect both your decisions and wish you the best of luck in finding the one true love that is waiting for you.

Just do YM chat with webcam - it's free, provided you have internet access of course.

Additional phone calls; Fedex/UPS latest paperwork (I-134), letter of intent, phone records, etc.
And finally 1 way ticket from Phils. to US POE - priceless!.....Good luck!

That's very encouraging....if only they can iron out that Delbros DV delays....hmmmm.

hotel expenses during medical & visa interview; another delbros fee for delivery of visa........then finally plane tix. Good luck

Yeah I agree, get rid of delbros and maybe just annex NSO next to the embassy; so all they have to do is walk to the next building for doc verification...hehehe!! wishful thinking only.

Do you have to pre-register or just be there on time when they start the chat session? I've checked the Davao website and the link for the upcoming chat session.

Best wishes. Now on to a different phase of your journey...but with your loved ones. Good luck

Correct me if i'm wrong, but was there ever a time when USEM didn't require document verification at all? And now the people that are caught up are the honest, law abiding, genuine, legitimate relationships. It can be frustrating at times. But we are helpless because we can only sit and wait........

Hmmm, maybe there's some serious issues here. Give her the space she needs.....a few days without contact...and see if she will contact you. Hope you get back on the right track.

Best wishes, we're so happy for you. Now the journey continues towards it final stages. It shouldn't be long before you're together. Care to share your annulment story? And why did u think you could've filed earlier? God bless!
Process of adopting my stepchildren who came from Phils.

I can probably do an adoption myself with all the resources available here in my state.
My question really pertains to how will it be recognized in the Philippines and have it recorded/annotated on the children's birth certificate. From researching this, looks like I would need a lawyer to file all the paperwork (very similiar to an annulment process).
Has anyone done something similar to these? Adopting your stepchild who were born in the Phils.? They are 10 and 11 yrs old.
Thanks in advance for any replies/suggestions.
