  1. i replied to your other post... let me just copy paste it here and hope it will help even a little.

I am very sorry you are going through this... 5 months is just too long :(

I don't know if these could help you but pls try contacting these persons:

LOURDES J. HUFANA-- Director for Civil Registration Department of Philippine NSO

    Tel.: 011 632 926-73-33

    Fax: 011 632 926-73-29

    E-mail: L.Hufana@census.gov.ph

and for the Document verification process in charge (used to be Richard.. some say it is a different guy now): 011 632 9267333

People from NSO might be able to help you or could at least explain what is going on more clearly. Ms. Hufana do answer even inquiries through email (though it takes her a few days before she replies) but it will probably be better to talk with her via phone.

Good luck and may everything be ok soon.

Thank you so much for the info. I will contact Ms. Hufana and let everyone know what i find out. I hope that she can give us some answers. I trust that God will help us with this and we will be together in his perfect timing.

  2. Hello Everyone,

I'm hoping that someone can give us some advice. My fiancee had her interview on March 3rd and everything went fine but we had to wait for the document verification. My fiancee's registry of birth document had a mistake in her name which meant that she needed 2 document verifications...one with her real name and then one with the mistake.

Her first document verification came back from the NSO on April 19 and that was fine. Next, the embassy sent the 2nd document verification to the NSO for this name with the mistake and we are still waiting for a response from the NSO...it's been over 4 months for this 2nd doc. verification. The embassy sent another request for this doc. verification on June 17 and then they sent another request on August 8. After all this time and 3 requests for this doc. verification, we are still waiting for the NSO to finish this doc. verification.

My Senator sent a congressional inquiry last week to the embassy to see what's taking so long, but Miss Grace said they will probably get the same answer I get every week...still waiting for the doc. verification. My fiancee never used this name with the mistake and she actually had a lawyer change the mistake on the registry of births document in 2002. I'm starting to wonder if the NSO can't find any record of this name with the mistake and therefore can't complete the doc. verification until they verify that it's a real name. I'm not sure why else this would be taking so long. Even Miss Grace admits this is a rare case that is taking way too long for the doc. verification. I've tried to stay patient and trust that God will take care of everything, which I'm sure he will, but I just wonder if there is more that we can do to get some answers. Is there anyone we can contact at the NSO to find out what's happening with our doc. verification. I've questioned over and over to MIss Grace why someone from the embassy can't just call the NSO and find out why this is taking so long. Maybe the answer is simple and easy, but we're just not getting any answers and it seems that the embassy acts like they're at the mercy of the NSO and can't do anything about it. Has anyone else come across a situation like this and is there anything we can do besides waiting and waiting. Does anyone know, if the NSO can't find a record of the name they're given, what do they do? So many questions, so few answers. I'd appreciate any suggestions people can give us. We're willing to try about anything now just to get some answers and clarity as to why this is taking so long. Thank you and good luck to everyone in their own visa journey.

  5. Hey Everyone,

So my fiancee had her interview yesterday and it looks like she is on AR but she really wasn't told much about what was going on. When she looked at her paper there is a check next to employment-based petitions and it says wait to hear from us. Does anyone know what this is relating to and how I can find out? Is there a specific number I should call at the embassy or is this just a standard thing. She paid the delbros 2 weeks ago and maybe they haven't gotten to it yet. If anyone has any idea what this means, please let us know. I'm getting worried about it now. Congrats to all who were approved so far.

    Frank and Delia

    Hi Frank,

I wonder if Delia ever told you about a certain "Marie" who she hung out with constantly during the medical exam and interview! LOL. I already told her it's because the document verification takes 1-4 weeks. Since you paid it 2 weeks before the interview, I would guess like all others the processing will be a little delayed till the embassy gets feedback from the NSO. Unless its for some weird reason, I dont think there's anything to worry about except for a little bit of delay. I'm not an expert on visa matters but I've read a lot and saw your documents and proofs as I talked with your fiancee. You will be fine!

    Marie

Thanks Marie. I was actually the one that told Delia about you and other girls from VJ that had the same interview date as her. I'm glad you could all be there together and help each other even a little through this process. Delia called Delbros yesterday and they said that the doc. verification request was forwarded to NSO on February 26. She's also trying to call NSO to find out how the verification is going and hopefully we'll know more soon. I was worried at first about it but she faxed me her paper and I saw that we're just waiting for the document verification so I don't think it will be a problem. I'm glad she passed the interview portion and we're just waiting for the day we will be reunited and can finalize our wedding plans. Do you already have your plane ticket and where is your P.O.E? I'm flying Delia straight to Las Vegas on Philippines Airlines and we'll spend a couple of days there before going to Colorado. Anyway, congrats on your approval and maybe we will all meet sometime in the U.S.

  6. yeah it looks like we're just waiting for delbros now. We can wait another month as long as everything is approved. So Delbros should be able to tell us if they forwarded to the nso? I'm still curious how the whole document verification works...the process and everything. We only paid February 18 so they may not have even gotten to it yet. Is there something we can do to make sure we don't get lost in the process somehow. I'm just paranoid that they could misplace something or that something could get lost. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to handle this best? Thanks. Good luck to all of us who are waiting on Delbros.
