  1. Hello all,

My wife went for her interview last Monday, the lady asked her a couple of questions, and then asked her to bring translation of 3 documents, she did not accept the translations that I did here in the US, NVC accepted them with no problems, but at the consulate she wanted translations from Morocco (Birth Certificate, police certificate, and Court record).

She asked her to leave the wedding photos, phone records and e-mails to review.

My wife went across the street and made the translations and dropped them the same day. We got married January of 08, I have not been back to see my wife, because I kept saying we are going to get approved, this week, next month and so on... I really did not think it was going to take this long. So they asked her in the interview how come I have not been back to visit since?

Anyone had the same experience? and how long do they usually take to call you back after you submit the requested documents?

So for all Moroccans going to interview, make sure you have Moroccan translations, and original Marriage license.

  2. Hi All,

We where approved for I-130 and I-129 at the same time, we received an interview date for the I-129 from the embassy, I asked for a reschedule and they gave me a new date (next week), but unfortunately due to some paper work delay my I-130 will not be approved by next week. Can I just write them and say that I would like to cancel my I-129 appointment and wait for my I-130 interview date?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks.

  3. Hello VJr's,

I have a couple of questions please, because of my wife's work situation, when she get's her IR-1/CR-1 Visa (god's willing), how long does she have to use it? meaning that she have to enter the US with in 3-6 months? Does the VISA have an expiration date? The second question is when she enters the US the first time, can she leave and reenters with the same VISA, or she has to wait to get her Green Card in the mail before she can travel again? and last how long does it take to receive your green card in the mail is 3-6 weeks in the ball park?

Any info will be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks.

  5. Hello dear VJers!

I called USCIS 800 number today the lady on the phone was so rude and she had attitude, basically read me the status from the website that I read myself 10 times a day when I check if there is any touches or approvals. She also said that I am still within normal processing window, and I should wait until a month passes my normal processing window before calling them again. I was planning to contact my congressman tomorrow but I don't have to now.

I just went to my mailbox and thank god finally there where two letters from USCIS, approval notices for my I130 and I129.

So to all VJers! don't relay on the Website, e-mail or the 800 number, my status on the website still says case pending processing has resumed, so hang in there you will get your good news any day now and don't lose hope.

    Good luck.

  6. Robbyrob,

I don't know how thinks work in India, but I am from Morocco, and for us I can give authority to my father in a writing statement to represent me in court, for marriage cert, buying a house....... So check to see if any body from your family can represent you.

I had almost the same issue, I submitted the translation of my marriage certificate from the consulate, but they did not accept it, they requested a copy of the original marriage certificate from Morocco and the translation. Luckily I had them both and mailed them next day, It's been 2 months since they received them and I am still waiting.

    Good Luck.

  7. OH my GOD, that guy is the DUMBEST LAWYER on the face of this earth, OF course if he tells the truth he is going to get DEPORTED!!!

    What are these people thinking???????

He should have divorced, then applied for US citizenship. I really don't know if there is anything he can do now. There is one thing, beat the ####### out of that dumb lawyer that put him in this mess.

    Sorry.

  8. I had the same thing happened last week, last Friday they sent me an e-mail on Friday "requesting initial evidence" with no details, also on the Web site they put the case on hold until they receive evidence, I had to wait for the mail man everyday until Wednesday to find out what they wanted.

For me they did not accept my marriage translation from the consulate, they wanted the original Marriage license and it's translation.

    Good Luck.

  9. Hello,

I am in the process of filing an I130 for my wife, I will also try a K3, my question is can my wife go try for a tourist visa while we are waiting, just to visit for a couple of weeks and go back, not to stay here. If she gets denied for tourist Visa, will it have any impact on her I130 and K3 applications?

    Thanks.
