Yes the company wants to re-employ me but with about a 2 year gap. So I’m not sure that can happen with an existing visa or if that visa was invalidated when I left that job previously.
The way the visa was explained to me at the time was that it was a 5 year multiple entry E2 and that each entry to US allowed me another 2 years of e2 status. Maybe that’s not correct anyway?

Hi I’m just wondering if anyone had experience with a similar situation. 

I previously worked in the US for a multinational company through a nonimmigrant employment visa. Most recently this was a company blanket E2. I left the US and have since got married to a US citizen. Now it seems like I have an opportunity to go back to the company I was working for in the US. The expiry date on my e2 visa is not until early 2027, however as I’ve not worked for the company for a couple of years now I assume it would not be correct to think I can use the same visa. The company has said they can get a visa for me either way, however I don’t know if that is something that would work as I have a US citizen spouse and don’t own property in my home country to show ties. At the same time, would I be crazy to move to the US now with company sponsorship in case in the future my spouse and I change our minds and want to move to the US more long term than we currently think. Does it make more sense to apply for a spouse immigrant visa and just see if the company has a role when that is approved? (Although I know that is supposed to be long term, and we wouldn’t want to be separated for the process)

If anyone has experience with this sort of situation please let me know.
