Submit Secondary Evidence

If the birth certificate is considered unreliable due to late registration, USCIS allows secondary evidence to prove the parent-child relationship.

	Common Types of Secondary Evidence:

		Baptismal Certificates

School Records showing your name and parents’ names.

Medical Records (prenatal, postnatal, hospital records).

		Immunization Records

Early childhood records (like clinic cards).

Government-issued documents listing your parents (passport applications, national ID registrations).

Affidavits from people who have direct knowledge of your birth and parent-child relationship (e.g., relatives, family friends, community leaders).

The RFE letter you receive will also request secondary evidence to support your late-registered birth certificate. Submit those documents and keep us updated on how it goes. Good luck.
