  1. We also had our interview today. It went about the same as others have reported. The officer asked a few questions regarding when we got married and looked at a photo of my wife with my family. I brought a copy of the life insurance policy I bought for my wife. And we showed him our Kaiser health insurance cards. The whole thing was over in 15 minutes.

Good luck to everyone still waiting for their interview.

  2. We just returned from a week at Disney World. While we were gone AP, EAD, and the interview date arrived. :)

  3. A blood test can determine which diseases you have an immunity to. The immunity can be a result of either having had the disease or receiving a vaccination. If you have immunity there is no need to get another shot.

But, I think Polio is not covered in most blood tests. You would need to get a booster shot if you do not have any documentation showing previous vaccinations.

  4. Hello february filers. Just to let you know I had a successful interview in London today and was approved  Hoping for a speedy visa delivery and to be in America some time next week. Thanks again for being there through the fairly rough journey. All good wishes to all of you x

    Congratulation!!!

I called the DOS today. They said our interview is scheduled for Nov 26... the day before Thanksgiving in Guangzhou, China.

Hopefully, the VO's will be in a good mood and give many PINKS.

    Steve

  5. Another update....DHL delivered Tania's visa at 10:50 this morning! :) That's 10:50 AM in Tomsk or 10:50 PM last night (my time). :) And, flight reservations have been made for September 24! :) So, after 8 months, the little piece of paper is finally in her passport and in her hands! :) And, even better, we now have a definite date for using that little piece of paper!! :)

I hope all of the other Feb filers, who haven't yet reached this point, have a smooth and quick go of it!

Congratulations! You guys are so lucky to have a speedy consulate.

I'm still waiting for our consulate in China to send us the P3. We are hoping for an interview before January 2009. The guys working in the China consulate must be ex-CSC employees. hahahhaha

  6. I know one can't be sure what package their petition is in but I was looking for a shipment to Guangzhou and I'm a little perplexed.

NVC told me they approved on 8/28 and mailed on 8/29. I know their mailed info may not be accurate but I've looked at DHL putting in every day of last week and there are shipments all over the world, but not one to Guangzhou. Any ideas why?

Do they ship less frequently to Guangzhou because they know Guangzhou is going to sit on it a few months anyway?

There are several shipments to Hong Kong. I also wondered if maybe they started shipping it through Hong Kong?

Or maybe I just made a mistake at the DHL site but I was pretty careful and checked several times.

    Any thoughts?

I'll also check to see if the good folks on CFL have an idea.

I'll guess it is this one:

Reference number: EXP 28 AUG 2008B

    Tracking number: 9438085005

The tracking information shows it shipped on 8/29.

BTW, after 1 to 2 weeks, tracking the package with the reference number will not show up-to-date information. You must use the tracking number.

Also, don't be surprised if the package sits in customs for 2 months or more. The consulate will pick it up when they are ready to send out more P3's.

  7. Congratulations! Did you guys see any "touches" leading up to your NOA2 approval? Again, Congrats!

No touches. But, I did call the USCIS this morning. They gave me little information and I think it is just coincidence that I got the NOA2 the same day. Looks like the USCIS is really cranking out the NOA2 today. I see a pile of others couples with NOA2's on Igors list.

  8. 1. They are busy, the more you call the less time they have to process someones application.

The people who answer the phones are not involved in processing the applications, so calling them won't slow things down. Unfortunately, it probably won't speed things up either.

I called this morning at talked to a polite young man. He had little information to offer me, other than they are swamped with applications.

Regardless, I think calling lets the USCIS know we are not complacent with the long delays. I am sure they tally the numbers of calls they get each month and it is used to measure their performance.

BTW, if you call the automated 800 number, if can be tricky to actually speak with a live person. After calling the 800 number, I entered 1, 2, 6 to reach a person.

  9. I think I'll call them once I hit the 5 month mark. Hopefully the next 2 weeks they get back to work.

Good idea. Maybe everyone should start a phone calling campaign. Let them know we are not happy with the long delay.

I honestly think this is a bad idea. I think going directly through USCIS to try to get change is just going to piss them off. I suspect that the adjudicators are doing everything they can...it's policy and planning that is wrong. I think a letter-writing campaign to all of our congressmen is much more likely to get results! USCIS needs to change the way they handle this from a managerial perspective and the only way that's going to happen is through congress involvement. It definitely needs to change...but we need to take this through the right channels! I think we've all worked jobs where people get pissed off at us for management decisions...we can't do anything about it, even if we call management and tell them about the calls, they won't listen to us. We need to go above management and get at it from the other direction!

You're probably right. I'll give the USCIS a polite call just to let them now I am concerned. Then, I'll send a letter to my congressman. I think my NOA2 will come soon, so this probably won't help my case, but maybe it will speed things up for others.
