After a very long and grueling journey, we have received our visa today, to God we give the glory and thanks.

Our case was completed in February and still no interview, now waiting for September. I have contacted our senator and am being told the same thing. The embassy has over a thousand cases pending for immigrant visa interviews. It seems they don't really work during the summer, I am hoping that things will increase soon.

Its good to see I am in good company waiting for our interview. I know how disheartening it is waiting on the interview, each month, I call during the 2nd week only to be told, not this time. So I am now waiting with the rest of you for a July interview.
I have a question regarding picking up the package, does this only apply to those who filed for k-1 and k-3, or is there also a package for the cr-1. I didn't think so, but maybe this is part of our problem.

I like your answer the best, it gives me more hope of a March interview.
okay, i've never seen that attached chart before, but what i've noticed from zee's tracking is that K1/K3 visas wait anywhere from 4-6 months for an interview, while the CR1/IR1 interviews seem to be scheduled within two months of their case completion at the NVC...which would be in keeping with other NVC cases. i am also hoping for a march interview! i was under the impression that the NVC schedules the date for the CR1/IR1 interviews, while the embassy itself schedules the K1 interviews. i don't know if that is correct since i did not look into a K1 visa, but if true it could explain the discrepancy. It makes sense, to me at least, that the CR1/IR1 would have priority over K1 because those filing the CR1/IR1 are already married while K1 is "intending" to be married. I know when you're on the receiving end of the longer time it doesn't make sense but if you step back and look at it from the governments perspective it does.
I don't mean to be rude, but just because you are married it does not mean that you have more of a right to be reunited with your loved one than someone else. There are many factors that go into couples choosing a spousal visa vs a fiance(e) visa.
The difference in the interview scheduling times is because K visas (compare the scheduling times for K1 and K3 visas, they are almost the same) are scheduled by the embassy whereas the CR1 visa is scheduled by NVC.
The difference is because K visas are NON-immigrant visas and CR are immigrant visas. In Ghana, there are large numbers of applications for non immigrant visas such as tourists, business and student visas. So it takes longer to schedule all of them.

Thanks for the info. I looked again at Zee's tracking list and it appears you are correct, about CR1/IR1 interviews being within a couple of months
I had noticed that we were approved around the same time, since we both want March interviews, we will keep hope alive.

Is there some type of justification I need to provide to my congressperson?
Each consulate has different schedules and so some will schedule faster than others. The wait in Ghana is not unusual, it has been like that for some time. I know that some have tried getting earlier dates (through contacting their congressperson, calling the embassy etc) but I have yet to hear of them rescheduling the interview for an earlier date.
If you are lucky you may get an earlier date.
Good luck

We are finally at NVC and hope to receive a case complete this month. In looking at Zee's tracker, it appears there is a big gap with the time from case complete to the date of the interview scheduled, sometimes as long as 6 months. But in reading other post from different forums they are able to get there interviews scheduled pretty quickly, within a couple months. Also just wondering if some of the people on Zee's tracker maybe just forget to submit updates and they have finished the process and we are not aware.
Bottom line I want a March interview, what do I need to do?
