Our petition was approved today. 82 days from PD (3/23).

CR1- consular processing (husband in Tunisia) I am a USC
    Service center: Texas (per Emma)

    3/1/23- marriage in Tunisia
    3/23/23- submitted I-130 online
    3/23/23- first active review
    3/24/24- mailed I-129f
    4/1/23- I-129f received
6/13/23- submitted expedite request via Emma (I'm a disabled veteran)
6/13/23- email received denying my expedite
    6/13/23- second active review
    6/13/23- approval notice in documents!!!!

I'm honestly shocked, we've been crying, I was running up and down my hallways at work screaming.

When you sent the I129F form, Did you also  have to send all of the documents you had already sent with the form I130? Like the marriage certificate and the proof of a bonafide marriage

That’s why I hate filing online. even when try to fill the document on adobe acrobat and print it out, I always found something not right.

to answer ur question, if they caught the mistake and they have question, they will send you RFE. Just stay put. Cant do much right now. It’s not big deal for me ( my opinion)

    You’re right! I hope it’s not a big deal

  3. So after going through the form I130 a hundred times before we submitted it online, we opened the pdf file that gets saved on your uscis account after submitting the form and paying the fees and we found two mistakes that we’re 100% sure we didn’t make because we were so careful when filling and we went through it a lot of times.

the first mistake we spotted was in my spouse address history. We listed 2 different addresses that my spouse lived in within the past 5 years, but when we opened the pdf file we found that it only saved the first address and it replaced it with the second address and it didn’t have dates on the first one.

and the second mistake was in the passport country of issuance. We typed “tunisia” but it saved it as “Tun”

my question is should we worry about those mistakes or we should ignore them since they’re not that important?

And that's ok. Some people never change their maiden name to married name, some people don't change last name to maiden name after a divorce, totally ok.

    Yes, that’s true!

Other names used is self-explanatory. Put her maiden name, and her previous married name there.

    For evidence of name changes:

Maiden -> First Married: Marriage certificate to her ex, also include a copy of her divorce order showing that she's free to marry.

First married -> Second Married: Marriage certificate between you two.

You can also put an explanation in the last page of the form explaining "I was born Jane Doe, married to Tom Smith, took his last name, divorced, didn't go back to my maiden name, then I married to my current spouse Andy Jones, and took his last name."

She didn’t take my last name. She is still using her ex husband last name.

  6. My wife was divorced and she kept using her ex husband last name.

She has this name on all the documents we are going to submit.

The only document that still has her old name is her birth certificate.

We don’t know what to put in the section where it asks for other names that have been used.

Also do we need a proof of name change? And if we do what would it be? Because she didn’t change her name through a court. She changed it through a social security office.

    Thanks!

  7. This is a question that probably only tunisians or people from certain countries will understand what i mean.

I’m having a problem with the form I130A especially with the section that asks for the name of the employer or the company that you work for.

as you all know it’s so hard to get an official job in tunisia with a contract and paperwork from your employer.

i work as a construction worker so I don’t have a specific  employer. Sometimes i work with people and sometimes i work alone, so I don’t know what to put in that first section of “ name of employer/company” .IMG_2762.thumb.jpeg.a54d2e6710ba35e350c3583681ce4639.jpeg

i hope someone can help me with that.

  8. I understand. But I called a couple of notaries in Tunisia and they said there had to be a new date on them otherwise they wouldn’t register the marriage. Will getting those papers apostilled solve the problem? If so, do you have any idea how long it takes for documents to get apostilled in the US?

  9. Me and my American fiancée are going to get married in a month. But we’re running into a problem which is her birth certificate and her divorce decree. In Tunisia they ask for a recent birth certificate and a divorce decree. That do not to exceed 20 days from the date of marriage. The problem is that my fiancée git her birth certificate and her divorce decree 6 months ago. And now there is no way that she can apply for me ones because it would take more than 2 months to get them. Can anyone from Tunisia help me please?
do we need to just get them apostilled? Will the Tunisian government accept them?
