  1. I posted a few weeks ago that I had gotten another RFE on my AOS case. I thought it would be that the medical was outdated, but it turned out that our case just needed original signatures on the I-864 documents. Those had been sent from the office by means of fax after my mother in law was diagnosed with cancer. Anyways, yesterday my husband finally received his greencard! I just wanted to let all of you know, since the whole process took us about 21 months from filing (k-1) to approval (greencard). I wish you all the best of luck !

  2. Sorry, I have not updated my timeline, because I am not sure how anymore? My husband was approved his EAD and AP at the end of August after his mom was diagnosed with cancer. She died a few days after our visit, so we have been waiting for the approval for AOS, which was transferred to CSC in early September. On November 23, we received our 3rd (!) RFE. The only thing I can think of is that it will be for his medical. He had his medical for K-1 in September of 08, but now that it has been more than a year, maybe he needs a new one? I am so stressed by the whole process! What do you all think?

  3. Sorry if this is in the wrong forum, I wanted to let everyone know the experience I had obtaining emergency AP. I had an infopass appointment on Thursday. I brought with the letter from my mother in law's doctor explaining that he is treating her for cancer. As I wrote before, we had an RFE on our case and the documents had not been mailed back in yet as I was waiting for our cosponsor to do 2008 tax returns (they had an extension). At first the officer sounded doubtful, but after talking to her supervisor we were able to have her fax the documents in. I got a call the next day saying the AP was approved. I had paid for overnight, so I am expecting it on Monday. Hopefully getting our baby a passport will go just as quickly.

  4. this may help...read post #1 :

Thank you. I think we will just pay the $305 and get the document quicker.

Another question I forgot to add in my first post. My husband arrived on K-1 10-3-08. We were married 12-11-08, but did not file AOS until early March. They received our packet 3-4-09, with a notice date of 3-10-09. I understand this is an overstay, but I think I read somewhere on this site that overstays of under 90 days are forgiven. Is this correct, or would he be subject to a ban if he tried to reenter?

  5. My mother in law was recently diagnosed with cancer. My husband and I want to travel back home to help her, but we still have not gotten AP due to another RFE in our case. My co sponsor had an extension for tax returns, so I needed to wait for her to file (she did today). We want to make an infopass appointment requesting emergency AP, but are not completely sure of the proof that we need. Is a letter from her dr saying she has cancer proof enough of a family emergency? Does it need to be the original copy, or can she scan it and we print it? Because I have an RFE on my case still, can I bring the documents I need to the infopass appointment so they can see my case will be resumed shortly?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

  6. I received my NOA on March 4th, but in early April received an RFE for I-864. I am a student so I sent in my papers, and had my grandparents both fill out the 1-864. The USCIS site says on May 5th the case resumed normal processing and to expect a written response within 60 days. I called last week and the officer told me I can expect an interview around November based on timelines and my local office. However, nothing in my case has changed since May 5th, and it seems like everyone with a filing date in March, or many in early May have already received AP and EAD. Do I need to keep calling, or should I expect to wait much longer? Thanks.

  7. I am currently unemployed so my grandparents are going to sponsor my fiance. I understand that I need to fill out the 1-134 as well even with no income, but do I need to show tax returns that my ex husband filed jointly with me from last year?

Are my grandparents allowed to combine there retirement/income or can only one be a sponsor?

The directions say tax returns are only required for self employed, is this correct?

What would my grandparents write on line 10 of the 1-134? (10. That I have submitted visa petition(s) to the Bureau of Citizenship and Immigration Services (CIS) on behalf of the

    following person(s).)

If income is sufficient other stocks and life insurance stuff is not necessary, correct?

    Thanks in advance.

  8. I hope everyone is doing well! Sorry I havent been around for a while, ive been busy getting things ready for the baby. I am so excited today Corrie landed in Chicago 2 hours ago and is through customs. He will be landing in Minneapolis in 3 hours woohoo!!!!!!!!! Its been 137 days since weve seen each other (longest time apart since we met) and he will be staying until Sept 9th!!

  9. Erin- I have a feeling this summer is just going to fly by with Corrie coming and having a baby, and birthdays/holidays. That will be such a great gift to Lucas to be a big brother :)

Bex- I wish my ex and corrie could get along better too. They do ok, but my ex was not really willing to accept it was over until I got pregnant with Corrie's baby. Then he finally signed the divorce papers after being separated over a year. He really cant get over the age difference and has to try and tell me what a mistake im making. I will be 23 on June 4th, and Corrie just turned 37 in April. Corrie and I would like 2 more after this too. I still havent decided what I want to do as a career but I stay at home with the little ones. Corrie is a computer programmer and hopefully he will be able to find work quickly here after AOS. I have gestational diabetes this time around and when I was pregnant with my first 4 years ago. I have been on the diabetes diet since 16 weeks pregnant and check my blood sugars 4x a day. Not being able to indulge in all the pregnancy cravings can be hard at times but a healthy baby is so much more important. I think its a great idea for you guys to start before the career, America is not very good with maternity leave, and not very many companies offered paid leave either.

  10. We are doing great. This is Corrie's first baby, but my 2nd. My first son will be 4 next month. He is so excited to be a big brother. He loves Corrie so much too, he counts down the days with me and gets excited. I am feeling pretty big now, I have officially lost the ability to bend over hehe. I just hope I can lose all the pregnancy weight before we get married!

  11. Congrats on your approval Bex!! You guys are so chatty I cant keep up but I hope you are all doing well :) 4 more weeks and Corrie is coming to visit for 3 months yay! This is the longest we have been apart since we met each other online Sept 06.

I saw someone on Igors list from CSC with a NOA1 date of 3-6 get approved!! That is amazing, I will feel so lucky if I get approved in July/early Aug.

  12. Enjoy your visit with your fiance! Corrie comes back in 52 days, I cant wait :)!!

Bex- Baby and I are doing great. I have been on bedrest for 12 weeks now due to an incompetent cervix but I only have 7.5 more weeks til I can start moving around more again. Time moves slow being in bed all day, but I love feeling Nico kicking and moving and it is worth it to have him healthy! I have an almost 4 year old son too who is super excited to be a big brother.

  13. I wanna play the wedding game too! We are going to have a courthouse wedding as soon as Corrie gets here from Holland with his Visa. Hopefully next fall we will be able to do a big ceremony but if not within the next couple of years. We are going to have it on a big boat http://www.twincitiescruises.com/photo2.html on the Mississippi river in front of the Minneapolis skyline. Our wedding song will be Lonestar-Amazed. It was the first song I thought of and then I asked Corrie what his suggestions were without telling him mine, and he said the same song so amazed it is :)

  14. I hope you all are doing well with this process. It is difficult, but actually my pregnancy has been distracting me more. We have been so excited about having our son that we are focusing on that. My fiance is coming in June so less then 2 more months! He will stay 3 months, our son will be born in July. In September we are all going to fly back to Holland and hopefully our visa is issued during that time so we wont have to be apart any longer. All the time apart is awful but I just count the days til he is here. I am hoping the NOA2 comes on time around august otherwise I think I will have a much harder time with the process.

Congrats to all you vermont filers that have gotten your NOA2 :) I almost wish I could have moved to a state that files there before sending the petition hehe.

  15. Just saw this post for the first time. My fiance and I are expecting our first together Aug 4th, 2008. This is his first baby, and I have a son who will be 4 in June. This baby is another boy!

  16. Congratulations on your upcoming childbirth! and also for starting your visa journey. I've noticed that you will most likely be having your baby in Holland. Just curious whether your fiance will be planning to go to Holland to wait for the birth and assist you? Good luck!

I am the USC. I am also on bedrest for the remainder of pregnancy so I cant travel anymore :( My fiance will be coming June on the VWP, (baby should be here mid - late July) and then we will travel back together to Holland in September and wait for visa hopefully!
